The customer service was excellent. The food came out very expeditiously. I initially thought it was a little bit pricey but boy was that wrong. The servings are really large. It was fresh and piping hot. It was full of flavor lacking for nothing. It's enough to eat here and take home. They have about six places for four people to sit in one two person table. Large picture of window from when you walk in so plenty of natural light they have hanging lanterns the menu is up on a visible electric board to view and paper menus in front of you as you place your order. I was a little bit nervous because I am a picky eater, but the food has been phenomenal. I have the chicken Katsu shrimp fried rice and my husband had the beef Ramen. They have different spice levels, including medium spicy and extra spicy. I'll just take the medium was plenty. Love this place

I hadn't eaten and had a craving for noodles. Dipped in and wasn't disappointed. Service was prompt. You order at the counter, seat yourself and wait to be served. Chill atmosphere w/soft music in the background. Is it me or do a lot of smaller establishments only provide one, thin napkin?! I get it but... Oysters 4outta5 nice fry, crispy and juicy on the inside. Spicy mayo wasn't very spicy. I forgot where I was and asked for hot sauce lol. Chili oil sufficed. Black garlic ramen 4.8outta5 Flavor train overload! I'd never had corn in Ramen but it went well. The bamboo was a bit chewy but no other complaints. The broth was so savory. I can see being a regular this winter. #GoTaste&See

The Ramen is so flavorful? I like the fact they offer Hawaiian barbecue as an alternative if you do not like ramen. I have enjoyed the Tonkotsu, which has a creamy broth and the Black Garlic which is more of a clear broth. The front desk staff is always friendly and the orders come out very quick. I can't speak to the ambiance as I have only ordered to go but I would definitely recommend!

I had been curious about "Ramen 101" since they opened, but never gave it a try. I guess I wasn't too enthusiastic because it is a local chain (I think) and I figured the food might be "meh". Well, I finally stopped in. Wow, I was delightfully surprised. First of all, the workers (also owners?) were super nice and friendly. The pricing is pretty typical for this type of establishment; not too expensive. The ambiance isn't anything special, but it was very clean and comfortable. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen. It was really good! I like that the egg wasn't 100% hard boiled (even softer would be ok with me). I was so happy when I was asked how spicy I wanted it (I love it when places are into spicy). There was a little sign and it showed that you could get your ramen mild, medium, spicy, or very spicy. YES! I went with "spicy". It was pretty hot. YUM. This is the best ramen I've found in the Pittsburg/Antioch area. I will absolutely be back to try some other types of ramen...and probably will get it "very spicy".

i ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, just as is. valued at $15, it comes with braised pork belly, mushrooms and even a soft-boiled egg, paired with its creamy pork-bone broth. i got it to go it was still hot, and resdy to eat once i got home: it was great, it was tasty: only downside were too many mushrooms ‍ service was good, and ambiance was a vibe in the tranquil Ramen 101

Have you ever been to a place more than once but the food never quite blown you away but it was good enough to come back to. Sounds like a friend that's not quite your best friend but is consistent so you stayed friends. Today was weird bro. I came here expecting something normal but got something more than I expected. For some gawd dang reason, the earth shifted its axis, something magically happened and it was my ramen, at this moment, today at this spot. I don't know if it will be the same when I return, but today, life felt perfect, my ramen, she is perfect. Just today, my normal expectation became my best surprise

I absolutely LOVE this place! My family and I try and come once a week. My husband always gets the tonkotsu ramen while my boys and I get the teriyaki chicken bowl. The longest we've had to wait for our food after ordering was 15 minutes on a busy day. They are so friendly and attentive that when we walk in they already have our order started (we order the same thing) and they know exactly how we like our food. It's a calm environment, relaxing music & very clean as well. Also, the prices are 10/10 considering the portions!

the skimpy little meat that I got!

the plates are skimpy, they don't give you like they used to give you, they give you three little tiny pieces of steak, and when I say tiny I mean tiny bite size, one chicken, and one ribs that's on the barbecue mix plate! I won't be buying that no more. The cabbage and the broccoli were cold like it just came out of the refrigerator, we're almost $19 hell I could have went and had me and steak dinner a real steak dinner yeah I'm good they won't be seeing me around there for I can't tell you not going to be going spending almost $20 on something that looks like it can feed the kid I'm a grown adult!

So I am a Yelper and take this review as you wish. Everyone has their own tastes so I want to be fair. This review is on their Hawaiian Food. Been here before for the Ramen. It was 3.5 out of 5. Broth great, minimal toppings, Char Sue Pork, overcooked and bland. So now to the review. Orders the Hawaiian BBQ mix and Spam Musubi. My parents were from Maui, I've had great lunch plates... The Musubi has so much rice that's all you tasted. Rice See pic Only two items struck out to me, the rice and Mac salad. The Sides. Rice was cooked perfectly, moist. Mac salad, not too much Mayo. Protein was a complete disappointment. But isn't that what you are buying the plate for??? Short ribs, dry, maybe would make a great beef jerky . BBQ beef, small if any portion. BBQ Chicken, also overcooked and no flavor. Good side, front staff.... But if you are going to eat a meal.... Pass.. I'm sorry for the bad review, I wanted this establishment to be a winner. I'll still be looking for my Hawaiian Plate Lunch elsewhere. Any suggestions???

I feel bad, because I really wanted to support this place…read more The shopping center where it is located is interesting; one side of it is ok, but the side where "Tokyo Ramen & BBQ" is seems to have it's own micro culture. The parking spots near this restaurant are usually half empty and there's typically at least one suspicious car sitting there with some odd-looking activity going on. Not the fault of "Tokyo Ramen & BBQ". I walked in, even though from the outside it looked closed. A woman followed me in (she seemed possibly homeless. Not judging, just painting a picture). When I walked in, none of the tables had ANYTHING on them. And it looked kind of like they were out of business. I saw no employees. I waited. Then, I saw a man appear from behind the counter (he had been bent over doing something and I didn't see him at first). I wanted to try the food, because the reviews seemed pretty good, but I was sensing that I might regret it if I got locked in to this situation... The lady asked, "Are you open?" And the man said, "Yes". I walked straight out and went to a different ramen place for lunch. So, I can't speak to the food quality. But the ambiance was dismal. And, though it's not their fault, the whole scenario of that side shopping center made me think that they won't be around long. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see myself going back...

I think if they had used fresh (raw) garlic, the whole dish could've been much more elevated. But, with that said, I thought that the flavor was just okay. The broth could've been creamier, in my opinion. But the portion was pretty good and generous. I also chose pork belly as my choice of protein, and I thought the pork belly slices (chashu) was pretty good. Price was pretty standard for nowadays. The ambience of the restaurant was not the best. Don't get me wrong, the restaurant was nice and clean, but there was a lot of restaurant-unrelated items that they attempted to hide but they ended up being not quite well hidden, so they were kind of distracting. But the service was nice.

The first thing my son said when he walked in was " Dad, I like interior design and feel of the place". The atmosphere and environment was cozy with a Japanese vibe. You can tell this is a mom and Pop family establishment. The lady that took our order is very nice and provided good service. This is the same lady working when I came here during my high school days in the 90's. My son ordered tonkatsu a deep fried pork fillet and I ordered a dish called Kinoko which is chicken and mushrooms in a sweet garlic sauce. Our entrees also came with house salad & miso soup. We also ordered California roll & tapi maki which is salmon. The owner lady frequently checked on us, polite, and always came back to fill our waters. My son especially likes the sushi bar because we can see the chef roll the sushis from all the fresh ingredients. He definitely has skills. The portion size was decent and the food quality and flavors made up for that. Absolute WIN coming here! We will definitely come back and hopefully be regulars. I highly recommend coming here with family and friends. Thanks
