Note the signed $1 bills covering the ceiling!

I still CANNOT believe we have a legit dive-bar only 5 miles from our house, that we had never tried!! This pkace is so far off the beaten path that you will never stumble upon it by accident. Use a good GPS, or follow a regular to this hidden gem. Pool-tables, karaoke, kitschy interior with $1-bills tacked or taped onto every surface - this place is Dive Bar Heaven! Friendly bartender. Also, by the time we left, we knew a couple of regular patrons - and they had filled us in on every aspect of this treasure! It operates like a Private Club; they scan your driver's license the first visit. If you start a fight; you are permanently banned (we saw this rule enforced) - this probably keeps a lot of 'riff-raff' out of their hair. The regulars raved about their burgers, so we'll have to try those next time. (Chips if you meed a side, no fries.) Smoking is allowed, so plan to wash your clothes after you visit. But, it is well worth it! Guarantee you - we will be back soon!!

It was definitely a hole in the wall. I didn't know the place existed but apparently it's been around awhile. You CAN smoke in here, so maybe that's why it was pretty crowded. It was really fun though. Everyone was pretty chill and entertaining. They do karaoke there so we go to see some really cool and interesting "performances " lol. Definitely worth venturing out to on a Friday or Saturday.

I love the Rose. It is one of my favorite bars. It is a homie bar to be at. The bartenders rarely change and I love that. The food is always amazing (not just your normal bar food). There are 2 pool tables, shuffleboard, a bowling game, and they do karaoke too! The owner and staff are amazing! Forever loving this place and giving them all my support!

Came on Valentines evening 2020. Great decision too!!This is such a great, fun little hidden dive bar. We always go with a group that comes here often so they know everyday and makes the experience so much more fun!! They have karaoke and you can dance and play shuffleboard and have some amusement games too. The only thing I would complaint is the cigarette smoke is like a thick cloud inside. But after some drinks and knowing that they do smoke inside you're like screw it, I'm going to have some fun with lots of laughs. I will definitely be back!! Have to find a mysterious guy who name is Wes!

Hamburger

I have been here almost 2 1/2 years and I wanted to get a hamburger, did not know if they had good grub. We went there on Sunday, but they dont have the grill open. However, she had fired up the grill and the hamburger was awesome. I would say 4.5 but the smoking.. so, I would say 4..

The staff is always friendly and pleasant, and you can tell they genuinely enjoy working here. There are plenty of seating options: a cozy bar area, three separate dining rooms, a large patio with its own bar, and even picnic tables out back. I think the upstairs may be reserved for private events. Every time I visit, I end up ordering the same thing because it's just that good--the Naked Chicken three-piece. Absolutely delicious! I'm also glad they now offer two sides with your entrée for a small extra charge. The mac & cheese and green beans are both amazing. I've tried a cocktail or two, but usually skip them since the portions are small for the price. Overall, this is such a fun, charming spot with consistently great food. Definitely one of my go-to favorites! Add it to the Love List

Who would have thought the historic Oliver house in Rowlett would be transformed into a…read moreMexican-Inspired Fried Chicken spot? Not me! Brick and Bones Backyard is a blue house on the corner of Main St. in Rowlett, Tx, that has been transformed into something magical. This Mexican-Inspired "chicken shop" is offering fried & rotisserie chicken, classic cocktails, and live music in a rustic setting. The menu is diverse and offering all things chicken that is brined 24 hours, fried and can be order breaded or naked( for the gluten-free in you). They also have rotisserie chicken, tenders, sandwiches, salads, bowls and wings, along with unique sides. Poblano mashed potatoes, habanero mac n cheese, mexican corn, etc... often garnished with fresh radish and cilantro around out the menu, with top notch service to boot. Mi marido ordered the breaded fried chicken, mexican corn and poblano mashed potatoes and gravy. The chicken was well seasoned with a great crunch. The potatoes had good flavor, but were barely warm. I can imagine their greatness heated. The mexican corn on the other hand was the real elote deal! The fresh snap of sweet corn, dosed with cotija cheese and spices lives up to the hype! Sweet, spicy, savory, it hit all the flavor profiles. I had the naked chicken with an order crinkle fries(faves) which was greatly appreciated for it's gluten-freeness and flavor. However, it was abit overcooked. Which left it thready and a little dry. The sauce that accompanied it, was needed, but shouldn't have been, while the fries were fresh, but undercooked. The concept and flavors make Brick & Bone standout on the chicken front. Better execution can make it a cut above the rest. Check It Out!

Bearded Monkey Sports Bar & Grill - Spicy Mango Salad packed some heat, but way too sweet for my taste. The bits of pineapple did not add much to the romaine lettuce.

If we want a rave that's where we'd go. He seemed to play music for himself. Know your audience. People didn't sing because the music was a turn off for most of the night. No announcements and not one song did he sing to get the crowd involved for karaoke. (My wife is a karaoke nut) please fix this. Again know your audience! Ownership has done a great job!

It's never felt like a place that values new faces or fresh energy, and that's a missed opportunity. As for karaoke nights, it's no secret there's an inner circle. If you're not part of it, good luck. Despite signing up early and showing up ready to contribute to the night, I've consistently been pushed back or overlooked. It's hard to ignore when the same familiar faces keep rotating through while others wait endlessly. The karaoke host (yes, you know who you are) makes it clear who's in and who's out. If you're confident, talented, or don't "fit the clique," don't expect fair treatment. Some people protect their spotlight at the expense of others -- and that's exactly what happens here. It's unfortunate, because karaoke should be about building a vibe, not gatekeeping one. It's no wonder the place was dead last Saturday. Places that don't grow community eventually lose it. I'm speaking up not out of hate, but because I believe people deserve to know the truth -- and Rockwall deserves better than what this spot currently offers.
