My car was stuck in the mud on the side of the palisades parkway after avoiding an accident from a motorist swerving over the double yellow. a clarkstown policeman arrived on the scene meant to "protect and serve" his community contributed To the unprofessional nature of this debacle. instead of letting me use AAA or my local tow service he insisted on calling the tow in, wrongfully I might add, in which the tow company sent the wrong vehicle for the tow. upon arrival the tow truck immediately gets stuck in the mud in the same fashion I was in. (mind you the cop said this would be a faster alternative to using my local tow guy) Now we wait for the second truck to arrive with the wench, and he proved to be the only capable human on site. after using the wench to pull the original tow truck out of the mud he was able to pull my car to safety back on the road. i happened to know the second driver and I asked him what I owe to the person who was able to get me unstuck. He proceeded to tell me to forget it and work it out with the company and he pulled off. The inept tow truck driver who got stuck as well proceeded to tell me it would be $223 to pull me out of the mud even though he didn't do the work and got pulled out of the mud himself. Shocked by this notion I balked at the idea of paying the gentleman that didnt do anything but waste my time. with no answer and an embarrassed glare he stared at me dumbfounded. i have never in my life seen such incompetence portrayed in a situation that called for alertness and good decision making skills. it was unsafe, it was unprofessional and overall it was a disgusting racket between the tow company, the clarkstown police department and those who "create the highway rules." In an already crappy situation this company made things worse and then charged me for it. I'm happy pay for a service, tip because of the weather circumstances, but to charge hundreds of dollars to wench my car 10 feet seems out of bounds when the towing company itself could not handle the job from the start. if I could give negative stars I would and I implore you to steer clear of this company at ant cost.

I explained to Steve my situation and they took the time to carefully diagnose the issue. The mechanic working on my car showed me exactly what was wrong and showed me what exactly he was doing to get the job done. He explained to me what the parts were and how they worked on the vehicle. I don't know, maybe I've had poor customer service in the past, but having a mechanic show you what's wrong right there on your vehicle is excellent service. Its transparency with these sort of things that go a long way with keeping clientele. I reccomend these guys if you're local in the area.
