This is the piece of wood that almost went through my foot!
    Robin T.

This place was equally good and bad. First off their restaurant "It's Five O'clock Somewhere" was a bit over charged for the quality of the food, but the bartender was so sweet and really attentive to my daughter's dairy allergy. We talked to Steve upon arriving (who was really funny and nice) and told him our name and that we had our cat in the car and needed to let him out. He either didn't hear us or didn't think anything of it (the hotel is supposed to be pet friendly) and we checked in and settled in for the night, got dinner and when we went to bed the bed was like a brick! My husband woke up in massive pain and when speaking to Stan at the front desk about getting better beds, mentioned our cat and was told that they were not told about this. We did mention it to Steve when we came in and when we booked the appointment with AAA saw ALL the notes our travel agent posted after everything was set and paid for 2 1/2 weeks before the trip. Stan told my husband that even if we change rooms we couldn't leave our animal in the room alone, even if placed in a kennel within the room and he told us to keep our cat in the car while we visited. Our car that morning was almost 90° and it is illegal to leave any animal in a vehicle all day. So not only did he ask us to break a law, but also put our family pet in harms way. I was so upset, so I talked to him myself and managed to work it out. Our next problem was that only one entrance was secured. You can open all the doors around the clock without a key card, which was also a bit unnerving. We had the opportunity to meet Keiana(sorry if I misspelled your name hun) who was so very helpful and very well informed about the areas activities and places to visit. She was so sweet and bent over backwards to help us with our needs. For a few days after the room change, everything was fine. The cleaning staff were very understandable and worked with us so our room would be cleaned before we left so we didn't have to keep our cat Kenneled all day, which we really appreciated. The last thing that happened that kept us from giving 3 or 4 stars was we found a piece of wood with staples sticking out of it that nearly went through my foot. My cat was playing with it and I saw it hit my foot just as I was about to step on it. God forbid it did go through my foot, or god forbid my daughter's or husband's foot. I was mortified! The staples stuck out between a quarter to a half inch from the piece of wood. I will add the picture of this to show you. When showing the front desk assistant he asked if I actually stepped on it, and when I said I started to but saw it before I put my foot down all the way, he shrugged and took it. The manager wanted to check in with us about our stay which I really appreciated, but I was at the point of frustration at that point, thanked him for his concern and questioned him about the doors not being secure and he said he is working on it. They did fortunately follow state law and allow us to lock up our valuables and got them as we needed. Our stay was a bit up and down, and recommend that: 1. You call ahead to see if their security doors work if security matters to you. 2. Double check before you arrive that they know you have a pet even if you travel agent tells them, because it can get lost in translation (more my fault then theirs, to assume they got all the information) 3. You specify what kind of bed is best for you if you have a bad back or are older so you can be comfortable and give them enough time to book it for you and 4. Check your room to make sure it is free of anything potentially hazardous. Most of the employees were really nice, but I will probably just stick to the hotel I have been used to using in Corning. Good luck! And please tip the maids cause they are wonderful!

This is the weird substance found in the lemonade.

Only half of the menu was available at the restaurant, the lemonade had a weird thick liquid in it almost like saliva. Not to mention the straight up BOOGER in my water. (See image) The lemonade also tasted like there was chemicals in it. My friends door was already open when we checked in and the rooms smell really bad. Def mildew. Low quality building in the inside. The water tastes so bad to the point where I had to grab my own water from my room to enjoy my meal. The small foods were really good such as mozzarella sticks and cheesy breads. They were out of lettuce which was in most of the foods. The bacon tasted really chewy and rotten on the burger. The pretzel bun on the burger tastes like straight up salt but there was no salt in sight?!? I would give this hotel a zero if it was possible. The bad really outweighs the good. If you plan on staying for more than 1 night, then go to a Hilton. They have free cookies.

It originally started out as the Corning Hilton, with its commercial modernist design, and was a success from the time it opened. Later Hilton sold it to the Radisson and in August of 2022 it was purchased by Choice Hotels. We have stayed here many times over the years and since Choice purchased the hotel we have seen improvements in the overall condition of the building; however, much improvement needs to take place. For example, our room air conditioner was noisy and uncomfortably cold/warm all evening. The main hotel AC was very warm considering we had mid-90s degrees temperature during the daytime. Secondly, we felt that the bar, although attended quite nicely, the drinks were half the size that we remember while prices considerably higher. Lastly, another negative would be the overall condition of their outside gardens and plantings. I brought it to their attention because they have beautiful gardens and planting spaces, but they're not well cared for: a lot is overgrown with weeds and dead plants. The staff was kind and accommodating and we would return mostly because of its location to Market Street. Ironically, we have stayed at the hotel across the river (now Hilton) and that has always been a good experience with the exception of having to walk over the bridge to get to Market Street.

They have an upper floor but no elevator! The room was pretty good, nice, and clean, with the exception of an upholstered chair. I sat in it to watch the large flat screen TV. The chair's arms were sticky with who knows what from years of use and no deep cleaning. Ugh! The back of the same chair was also in the same condition as the arms, more ugh! To use it, we took towels from the b/r and covered the offending areas. No one should have to do this... just gross. The king bed was oh so comfortable and smelled good, which helped foe a good night's sleep. Under the TV cabinet was a mini refrigerator with a freezer, no microwave, but they provided a small coffee pot system with reg and decaf. The b/r had a fantastic shower with good water pressure, nearly immediate hot water. A word of caution, the bottom of the tub was a bit slick. In the morning, there was a decent breakfast, carbs, protein, and juices, a good balance. The coffee was hot and a really good brand to start your day. They do accommodate the gluten-free guests with a dedicated waffle maker. .

Plentiful lighted parking surrounds the building. The entryway includes a check in desk, breakfast area, coffee and tea set up, ice machine, and small store with snacks and toiletries. Despite arrival at a very late hour, the front desk staff person was very friendly, chipper, and processed our keys in no time. We stayed on the second floor out of three in a very spacious room. The bed was very comfortable and clean and came with lots of pillows. Big, flat screen television, refrigerator, microwave, desk, arm chair, and a desk chair make up some of the amenities of the space. There is a pool on the premises as well but I did not have the opportunity to partake. The hot continental breakfast did the trick each morning. Cereal (cold and hot), eggs, sausages, waffles, breakfast sandwiches, various breads, and fruits. The hotel was very quiet, staff were friendly, and I would definitely stay here again if I were in the area. Couple of gas stations nearby, a Wendy's and a Bob Evans.
