Dory was the cashier when we went Saturday early in the morning. She was in a good mood and very friendly; even though she was the only cashier for a line that went down the aisle to the end of the store! It was barely 545am and the line was slowly getting longer and longer down the aisle. I was surprised they only had 1 cashier available. Dory worked calmly, quickly and efficiently, unlike the female manager (I think) seemed bewildered and very stressed when a customer kindly asked if they had toilet paper. They didn't have toilet paper but they had some facial tissue that people were buying. They also were restocking on water, they still had a lot of items. read more

Accept today. I go to the pharmacy a few times per week and have an EXCELLENT rapport with most of the staff . The last two visits there's one guy who has been VERY snappish. I don't know why. Except he wants to close the pharmacy at 1pm for lunch. I got to the pharmacy at 12:30 I did not anticipate the long line. By the time I got to the counter it was 12:50 And the guy behind the counter just snapped, " come back after 2 . You know. I gave to verify. Honestly it's tricky to have to calculate their moods with the hours. Giving a regular customer is just plain stupid. Rude and stupid. Vent du jour. thank you. read more

I don't think there's a diplomatic manner to begin to describe the level of arrogance and rude behavior of the staff that works in the pharmacy here at this location. It seems to have to slipped their mind that without paying customers these people don't have a job. To most it's a simple equation but they way they think they're able to talk to customers is astonishing and god forbid you return the same courtesy you're extended here. No they don't like that too much. As to how Ralph's keeps these personalities working here is beyond me. read more

I been getting my Rx's filled at this Ralph's for many years and have never had a negative experience. The pharmacists and staff have always been above and beyond helpful and friendly, even during Covid, and even when they are busy. read more

This store has never had a valid elevator permit and the elevators are dangerous. They are poorly maintained and a direct reflection on the store's management. Kroger stores do not accept Apple Pay. I left my groceries at the self check out and the check sarcastically told me to "Have a nice Day!" read more

Updating a review written long ago, had a good experience the other day when the pharmacy staff found a price better than good RX - thanks to the staff. You are appreciated. read more

Bull shit. 3 different employees with 3 different answers regarding the restroom. Watched 4 people walk out of the men's room, refused to allow my husband to go. Left $200 in groceries in an isle...... won't be giving them my money. Would have given 0 stars if it let me. read more

This lovely grocery store would get 5 stores if only for their awkward (in my humble opinion) location and parking situation. It literally took me quite a while to just *find* the parking lot, b/c it's off 2 very busy streets, and there is *always* someone on your tail when you slow down and try to find it. I'm not dumb - that's just my experience, this is not my hometown, and Suri is my constant companion.... Anyway, I found this store to be well-stocked, has decent prices, with a helpful staff. It is immaculate compared to Von's. There were relatively long lines even though I went there during off-peak hours - I would not go here 4-6PM personally b/c I detest crowds. Otherwise, it was a pleasant experience. read more

Either the world is/ has completely turned to s**t or everyone at Ralph's grocery on Carrillo and Chapala has lost all touch with the reality of customer service. The management, meat department, cashiers and almost everyone in the store has the worst customer service. I wish there was another grocery store close to where I live or maybe they should bring the secret shopper program back because they fall way short. read more

I get that some people in Santa Barbara think the local grocery store downtown isn't up to Santa Barbara "standars". What grovery store in a downtown area really is? That being said, the manager at this location is top notch. Everytime I've ecountered him he says hello, offers assistance and always has a smile on his face. When observing interactions with his staff I noticed how friendly he is with them as well. This, for me makes for a great store. read more

The store is itself is fine, but the people they hired recently as baristas in the Starbucks kiosk are awful people. They are constantly making snide remarks about whatever drink you're ordering and never remember to use my reusable cup. They are incredibly rude and should either be retrained or fired immediately. Until then I will be finding a different location to order my daily coffee from. read more

This used to be a great grocery store but it was a total disaster last time I went. Tried to get a sandwich but they were out of bread. How's that possible? Grabbed a premade that was rotten. Last time I'll go there. read more

Ralph's is very convenient, open late, and carries many options for grocery items and fresh produce! Plenty of parking available. read more

Ralphs Pharmacy - Aisle with logo. - Pharmacy Near Me - Santa Barbara, California

Went in at 2:45 on a Thursday with a prescription, in stock (I checked), no one in line or waiting. Clerk was talking to another clerk and pharmacist was just standing and listening to them. I gave the clerk my prescription, she asked a few questions and I said I was going to shop and would pick it up on my way out. She said, no I would have to come back for it in about an hour and a half as the pharmacist was going on break and and it wasn't ready for him -- she had to type it into the computer. It was for 30 pills and no one could could these out in 20 minutes or so it would take me to shop? Forget them. The clerk was rude and when I left the store (after shopping) 20 minutes later. the pharmacist was still there -- talking. I got them elsewhere read more

When I called to confirm that my prescription was available for pickup, she indicated it would not be available for at least another four days. No one called me regarding the delay. Since I needed this med sooner I obtained it from a better pharmacy with much better customer service. read more

Sadly, Ralphs pharmacy at the Carillo location has gone way too far downhill. It's filthy, dirty, and the whole store smells like urine. The pharmacy staff are completely apathetically rude and incapable employees that are clearly there for a paycheck or benefits, but not because they are especially proficient or capable of working with the public. "I don't know" should be their motto. They lose prescriptions constantly and blame the doctor's office. They had us running back and forth all day long from morning until just before closing, and eventually said "oops" the problem was that the prescription was misfiled in the pharmacy. From the parking lot, on through the store, and carried out to the pharmacy, it's a skeevy, unfriendly, grossly lacking in customer service environment. Long gone is the neighborhood pharmacy feel that was once there. The BEST pharmacy in town is hands-down SANSUM pharmacy. So, if you have a choice, steer clear of Ralph's Pharmacy on Carillo and head on over to Sansum. Oh, and if you shop in the store, check your receipt, On several occasions, I was overcharged by anywhere from $5-$17 on a single visit. In one month alone, I was overcharged 5 times! The upper-level parking lot at night is downright scary. To me, this store has become a blight on our city. read more

Ralph's sucks. It really does. But hey, if you live close to there, I don't blame you for shopping there because I do too occasionally. If you're a coffee addict there's a Starbucks there. The staff is hit or miss, it has the feel of a place that has not that great of management. The ONLY reason I give this place 3 stars, is there's a Latina woman who works in the pharmacy that is an absolute superstar! Her name escapes me, but man, if I owned a customer service oriented business and needed a go-getter, she'd be someone I'd through a bag of cash at. read more

Ralphs is where middle class Santa Barbara locals go to do their shopping. The meat and produce is almost always fresh, the workers are usually polite and considerate and they have a diverse selection of food to choose from. If you're willing to make the drive from the Mesa, it beats out Lazy Acres easily (about 1/3rd the price) and Vons as well. The only thing I dislike about this, is the parking - which isn't really a big deal, but just inconvenient. Half the time, there's not enough outdoor parking, so you have to park in the dungeon underneath the building and take an elevator. Escalators would've been a better choice, like they have at the new Target. I hate waiting for those dismal smelly elevators, that seem to take forever to come down. read more

I visited the Ralphs grocery store on Carrillo my experience was horrible to my dismay. I frequent this store on a regular basis. I am harassed by a manager named Eric on a continual basis this in particular time they were out of Coca-Cola, so one of the other employees went to get me one from back. I had already paid for my items. Eric runs out from the back to snatch the receipt out of my hand and repeatedly tell me I didn't pay for the item. I had already paid for them at this point. He held me up while he looked over my receipt still making accusations. Finally he figured out it was paid for. I was frustrated, upset, and hummiliated. read more
