Pharmacist Nhi Nguyen is rude, inconsistent and withholds medication refills with no exception. Will not refill medication even if eligible for refill and prescriber specifies refill date. Was told my medication would be ready for refill the next morning (from the same pharmacist) and then went to pick it up only for her to tell me she actually won't refill it until 3 days later. DO NOT USE THIS PHARMACY especially if she is working. read more

They are overwhelmed, they need more staff. Long , long lines. Takes forever. Prescriptions not ready. Long waits. Delivery to the wrong house. since the RITE AIDE across the street closed and the entire AMAZING staff moved to this CVS.. this pharmacy elevated to one of the best in town!!! the people are great the location perfect and the coffee shop next door has the best avocado toast in town! I have no idea why this pharmacy has some low reviews. Unfortunately, I have had to use the pharmacy a ton my adult life because of having cancer. This is the best pharmacy at least in SB and is always understanding if you have to travel, need medication early, answers all questions you have and they are super nice. we had to change our meds over to CVS on the Mesa due to Rite Aid closing. I have never walk into a pharamcy that was so so dirty, unstocked shelves and 20 minutes to get a prescirtopn pick up. who the heck in is control of this mess? My friends that were pharmisist that all went to the CVS on Cliff that have all left due to the disaster of this CVS. Someone needs to look into this horrible mess read more

The new virtual assistant is terrible. It can only deal with a limited number of options and has no default to a person or broader program.

They apparently no longer accept prescriptions from doctors without an office in Santa Barbara. Staff is always rude, got to make sure you have a good hour or so to stand in line waiting for medication. Mind blowing that they'd deny prescription medication based off of that and not communicate the "new policy" to patients. When asked if it was all cvs or just the store they told me to "call around" to find out. Honestly unbelievable. Editing to add that they've had my prescriptions hooked up to a random cvs account for the past 4+ years, I initially attempted to call various cvs numbers to fix the issue but no one was able to help. The most recent time I was at CVS it was connected to a new, random number instead of "Martha" who happened to share a similar phone number to me. read more

I've tried 3 times over a month's period to have one prescription transferred from Walgreens. I was initially offered this by staff member and told it was an easy process. No prescription after 3 different conversations and the last voicemail went unanswered. Additionally frustrating that they don't answer their phone. Too incompetent to be dealing with medications. read more

For decades, I was a loyal customer of CVS on Cliff Drive. Great customer service, very convenient location, and it was my go-to for my prescriptions/beauty products/etc... Today, I went to return an Aspercreme Lidocaine product as it was not effective for pain. To my surprise, I was told I could no longer return a product that was used. I was never told that their policy had changed. They referred me to the CVS customer service general phone #. I tried that to no avail (if you dare to prompt one of their numbers, the phone immediately disconnects). I tried 2 other customer service numbers with the same outcome. I phoned the store manager and spoke with a woman (she claimed she was the manager but did not share her name) who said I didn't know how to use the phone and should ask help from someone else so I could properly make the call. Her tone was infuriating. When I asked her name, she hung up. I then phoned the CVS on State Street, explained the problem, and the supervisor said that I could return the product to their store, that they had no such policy in place. I drove to that store and received my money back. Unless I receive an apology and explanation as to why I received such treatment, I will never step foot in the place again! Beware of going in there. I don't know if management changed or what is happening at that store. It was like being in a twilight zone! Very curious as to whether or not they will bother to contact me! read more

Tried to call pharmacy two times waiting 10 minutes. Finally drove down w my script only to have them tell me it was not in stock. Tried then to sell me OTC meds that would have been 10 times cost of my script!! Went to another CVS that had plenty of my desired script. read more

Staff is great, but I've moved most of my prescriptions to Ralphs's and Blink Online pharmacy after realizing that CVS was charging 20-40% more... Check before paying to see if you are getting best price...refills sometimes get overcharged. read more

Called in for a prescription that they needed to check in with my insurance for authorization that happened over 3 weeks ago, I received no call in regards that it was covered or not until I called in. Once I called the pharmacist was extremely condescending and rude, when talking to me telling me my insurance doesn't normally cover it even though it was covered. Once I went to pick my prescription up I heard him on the phone being extremely rude and condescending to a customer on the phone, once he hung up he complained very loudly to his staff saying "see this is what I have to deal with" I had questions about my prescription but after these events I was very uncomfortable and deterred to ask. After being treated like this and seeing that this is his standard of treating customers I will not be coming back to this location. read more

Switched pharmacies due to poor treatment at another pharmacy, and as soon as I called to pick up my medication (one of which was long due to be refilled) I was berated by the pharmacist who heavily, HEAVILY insinuated I switched pharmacies to get my medications early? I know when to get my meds. I was simply calling for ONE of my meds. I switched to rite aid after being talked down to like I'm some kind of drug fiend. I switched for just that reason. Big mistake. This place is always busy, maybe because of the location. So the service at the pharmacy is a hit or miss because it's so busy. But I do appreciate that the company hires people of color. What I don't appreciate is the constant rotation of faces. Some of the pharmacists and techs are absolute nightmares, and some are absolute saints. It could be because they are overworked and understaffed during this very stressful time. I very much appreciate how CVS makes it so easy to sign up online for vaccines, and how easy they make it to check in electronically. I wanted to get vaccinated at CVS, because it is a nationally known chain, and would have my records anywhere I may end up traveling within the US. I also trusted them to be able to report my information to the CA government, and I trusted that they would be providing unexpired vaccines, and following strict protocol, due to the sheer volume that the company has, and the scrutiny that they could experience if they messed up. I came here because I trusted the brand and they continue to be my go to pharmacy. read more

Pharmacy is a ripoff! My generic Amoxicillin perscription was over three times the cost than the Costco pharmacy. $65 v $21.....No Copay, that was all out of pocket. They are robbers there.....DO not patronize that establishment. read more

This store deserves an award, because I have never seen a pharmacy with such high reviews. One can understand these reviews the minuet they walk in to be greeted by a checkout person. Customer service is spectacular, and the store is a breeze find items one needs. The pharmacy at this CVS branch on cliff drive is and world like no one has ever seen. The pharmacists are happy, so happy that their customer service makes one feel comfortable. The coolest amenity in this store is the coupon machine. All one has to do is punch in their phone number into machine and it popes out deals, and not the junky type. I don't know the rules but I can now confidently say he was body policing me considering I went right to FedEx and was in and out in 5 minutes. Ugh. This place is always a pain. Calling there is a pain. The pharmacy never has their stuff figured out. Today takes the cake though. I called the pharmacy to provide information for a prescription. The only reason I knew they needed this info was because I had called the day before to make sure it was ready before I drove there to pick it up (learned my lesson with that already). They never called me to tell me they needed the info to fill it. So I called around 5pm and put it on speaker, knowing I'd be on hold for awhile. I was on hold for 54 minutes before someone picked up and HUNG up. So I called the store back and asked if the manager could transfer me so I could provide the info they needed. He transferred me, I could hear someone pick up and they HUNG up again. That call lasted 7 minutes. Then I called back a third time and the manager said he'd transfer me again. By this time the pharmacy was closed and no one picked up. That call lasted 3 minutes. Then I called the store 2 more times and the store picked up and HUNG up again. I can only assume they have caller ID and just picked up and hung up on me. Such an awful place. Don't go unless you have no other option. Save your time. Life is short. Don't waste it at this CVS! read more
