I am in town for a quick getaway and it occurred to me that usually where there is a Rite Aid there is thrifty ice cream. I called ahead wanting to make sure that this location had it. See my other review where you can see that I take my thrifty ice cream seriously. The person that answered was soo friendly. They said that they had the ice cream to purchase in the frozen food section and also hand served cones. Bingo!!! I asked if they would serve at anytime if I went and they said sure, that as long as the store was open they would serve the ice cream. I went the next morning. Ice cream for breakfast.....yes please!!!!! So many choices, I got two cones for myself, one at a time. Pistachio and Butter Pecan. Smooth. The best!!!! The cashier was so friendly. I told her what had happened to me at another rite aid and how I had come from far....she stated that I was always welcome to get ice cream there. Thanks for such an enjoyable experience. A stroll down memory lane and enjoying thrifty ice cream is priceless!!!! read more

I used to "pharm" at Rite Aid on the Mesa, but about 4 years ago or so, it seemed there were always issues with my insurance not covering meds and I'd take the scripts across the street to CVS and there'd be no problem. I switched all my business to CVS. Over the last several years, CVS gets busier and busier and the lines get longer. Meanwhile, Rite Aid has had a major remodel and looks like it's always empty. So, a month ago, I wasn't able to book a same-day appt for a CVS flu shot and since I was up there anyway, I asked if it would be possible to get one. The attendant at the counter told me she'd have to ask the pharmacist and wait. I watched her help the next 2 people in line and then ask the CVS pharmacist. It was easy to read the pharmacist's lips when he spoke to the counter worker. "Who is it?" he asked, adding "we've already got some vaxxers waiting." She indicated my husband and me and he looked over at us and sneered "No" as he looked us up and down like a Studio 54 bouncer. So, we hopped in the car and drove across the street to Rite Aid, where we walked right in and got 2 flu shots without waiting or being sneered at. I'm thinking of switching our pharm biz back to Rite Aid. read more

The pharmacy at the Cliff Drive Rite Aid has handled my prescriptions for 20 years, now. They know my medications and they are incredible professionals. Negar has caught TWO mis-prescribed medications my spouse was given at an urgent-care center (once the wrong antibiotic, and once the wrong refill), and both times encouraged us to call and fix it so she could get him the right medicine. What a godsend. Emily is equally great, and I couldn't ask for more professional care from pharmacists. I can't imagine how squeezed pharmacy staff are, in this overworked day and age. But these people take great care of me and my family. If they're busy they apologize and tell me they're busy. If they're not, they ask after my dog and my family. It's as strong a relationship as I could *possibly* expect from them. The store is conveniently located with great parking and they're open 7 days a week; this will be my pharmacy for as long as their doors are open. read more

Great pharmacy staff. Nagar is wonderful! Highly recommended. The turn-around is very fast.

We have really enjoyed being taken care of by Nagar who is by far the friendliest and knowledgeable pharmacists we've encountered anywhere! Keep it up Nagar! It's why we stay at Rite-Aid! On the other hand, Frank is SO RUDE. I've been trying so hard to get my mom a COVID booster. All he did was argue and blame ME for my issues using the internet scheduling. In 20 years of coming here I've never been talked to this way at the pharmacy. I hope this does not continue or I certainly will never be coming back to this pharmacy. What a shame. read more

Pharmacist Negar was so rude about refilling my medication and denied me the refill even though they are the only pharmacy within an hour drive that has the medication in stock. Every other pharmacist I called in town was shocked at the way this pharmacist handled my refill request. I have submitted a complaint with the board as I can't believe you would deny someone a medication for no reason at all especially when you are the only pharmacy in town with the prescription. read more

Sure it's convenient but dirty and a bit run down. I'm no fan of Rite Aid and it's never the destination of choice, rather next door to where ever I am. The Cliff Drive location is in need of a face lift. The floor is dirty and isles are cluttered. I don't understand who Rite Aid hires but a this, the State Street and Goleta locations, their customer service is completely unapparent. They might was well install self check out stations since that's basically what happens. My choice, go across the street for a much better experience. Unless you want ice cream. This is my place of choice for post holiday candy sales now! Enough said? They also have a nice selection of regular candies and chocolates throughout the year. Amongst, pain killers, greeting cards, and the occasional buy one get one shampoo deal. Other than that I wouldn't say there's anything crazy special about this Rite Aid location's stock. This Rite Aid is located in a shopping center with a Vons, Starbucks, Chase bank, Subway, and a handful of local restaurants and other vendors on The Mesa. The parking lot seems chaotic from a distance but with the one way lanes it actually structures itself very nicely and I never have an issue finding a spot. The customer service here has never been above 2-3 stars unfortunately. Sometimes they don't even say hello or goodbye, thank you, or your typical "Have a nice day." They are just there to check your items and get you on your way. Never seen any troubles or fights but wouldn't be surprised if something came up. read more

Got my booster here today. My experience at another drugstore for shot 1 and 2 were sooooo much better. The pharmacist (not going to name) didn't greet or say goodbye, was oddly distracted and impersonal, did a stab of the needle with no warning (it was a stab not a prick) and sloppily placed the bandage and had to ask to get another one because it was bleeding through. After the shot, she didn't say anything -- I had to ask if she's done, if I needed to wait for side effects. Wouldn't you provide good patient care and talk through it at least? Odd and cold experience. read more

This is my favorite ride aid I love the pharmacy staff they have been my mother's primary pharmacy for years & they always continue to help her when she has questions as concerns and I appreciate that to the fullest my mother is pretty shy and doesn't always feel comfortable speaking out but the staff has always been attentive to her and she has no problem going in and interacting with them when needed and that speaks volume to me and the staffs integrity for building the report and having their clients feel comfortable with their pharmacist considering how vulnerable of an interaction it may be. I've been using this pharmacy for 2 years because it's close to home but I've never gone where they've actually been open on the dot at 9. The pharmacist is always 5 minutes late minimum... surprised she still has a job there. UPDATE: I had such an excellent experience with the pharmacy when my insurance switched over and the insurance screwed up my prescription. She took a lot of extra time to help me and called some people for me. She's great at her job but sadly I forget her name. read more

This might be the worst customer service I have ever seen in my life. I was in line behind a woman purchasing her items. I waited 10 minutes while late for a dr appt while the customer and clerk chatted leisurely about personal things completely ignoring customers in line. Both the clerk and the customer looked at me and went right back to chit chatting. I ended up leaving and took my money and business somewhere else and will never go back to this store with no concern or regard for customers. This was jan 22 9:50 am. I was in the store minding my own business with my housemate who brought a BMX and was looking for an eyeglass lens this tall white guy with s brown ponytail and brown beard came up to us abs started talking disrespectful because we had a red white and blue small BMX bike with us and he was very aggressive and rude and told us we were banned, employees need to be respectful and approach customers cautiously without jumping in their faces and making customers uncomfortable don't recommend shopping at the location, have had no problem with other associates. read more

The Cliff Dr location has fantastic pharmacists. Negar, Emily, and Frank are all true professionals as well as courteous. I have been going there for 5 years and never had a problem. Emily took care of everything and was very pleasant, professional and compassionate. i received a flu shot from this particular rite aid last week and everything went extremely smoothly. Georgina was the one who injected it into me and she did an excellent job. They take care of everything you need. They worked over time to get my prescriptions to all fill at the same time so that I can pick them up together, and auto fill and check with the MD's for refills. If they see me walk in the door, they pull the prescription and have it ready by time I walk back to the counter. The pharmacy manager knows our family by name and provides good advice that is relavent to us. She knows my prescriptions by heart and follows my health conditions. All of the pharmacy employees know us by name. read more

The Pharmacist here is awesome. She was the first in the nation to start flu shots at Rite Aids across the country. I've gotten my flu shots here, and it is less expensive and more convenient than going to a doctors. As for the rest of the store, it is a little dirty, but the great Thrifty ice cream and fully stocked shelves outweigh the negatives. read more

Not the greatest experience when it comes to customer service. There never seems to be enough checkers and they never seem to be happy. Not sure if thats because Rite Aid doest pay well or because they need a new HR person. They still have most of the products I generally need which is nice. read more

I bought a Rite Aid Sonic Toothbrush at this store about 6 months ago. When I came back to seek a replacement brushhead, I found a confusingly labelled set of alternatives. I asked a clerk to help me figure out which one fit my model (number 421B). He pulled down one of the replacement brushheads, read a bit of the stuff on the back and said this is it. I expressed some doubt, but he said "I am 99% sure this will fit". When I got home, I found it didn't fit. I brought it back for a refund. The manager explained to me that they do not carry these replacement brushes nor can they order them. She said "it is not the store's decision, but the company's. Since turnover of these replacements is not great enough, they do not stock the replacement brushes, although they do stock the toothbrush unit. This strikes me as disreputable as well as stupid business practice. I suppose that I should have known better than to buy from a company that can't even spell "right" right. read more

I have used the pharmacy for about 20 years. The staff is courteous, efficient and well informed. There has never been an error in handling my prescriptions. If there are any problems with an order, the pharmacy has told me about it very quickly. read more
