After wearing prescription glasses for 15 years and having 4 different eye doctors and optometrists, I think I finally found the best. I was gaslighted by other doctors that told me I had a cataract and the other saying that I am okay to wear two types of lenses. Here at Montecito Optometry, Dr. Strickland assured me that my eyes weren't as bad and he was patient to answer my questions. I was bit nervous about coming over to this place (because it's Montecito) but I read the reviews and they were awarded as the best. There is a reason, they are welcoming, they offer options, and they are professionals. Oscar is awesome and he explains the insurance coverage very well. They have a wonderful selection of affordable frames. I got mine that it's non designer and I got many compliments. I feel better coming down here than going to that other place in Downtown SB with overpriced frames and a snobby vibe. You don't get that at Montecito Optometry. Dr. Strickland and his team are the best! Came in because I felt my vision in one eye had changed. They were very professional, friendly and kind. After the exam with Dr. Strickland, he took time to show me the problem and then called a surgeon. The office is so peaceful and tranquil. Love the decor and the location cannot be beat. After I left, Dr. Strickland followed up with a phone call later that day to see if I was able to see the surgeon. It was funny as I was just arriving at their office! What a special group! Nice little shop they have here. I went in here with my partner to get her glasses fitted. I felt a little like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman-- before the transformation. Dr. Strickland has a fun personality. He was witty and very professional. I couldn't believe how thorough he was. He spent quiet a bit of time with me and it really shows he cares deeply about his line of work. I went in because I'm getting older and need to start caring about making sure my eyes are in good shape. He eased my concerns of the freckles I have in my eyes and told me what I do need to look for in the future to catch anything that may arise. I felt like he was able to educate me very well and he didn't get annoyed when I asked him over and over again what the terminology for everything was. Very impressed! Will be back to his practice. We were visiting Santa Barbara over Thanksgiving and my prescription sunglasses got bent. I went to an optometrist office in Santa Barbara and they said they could not help me. We went to Montecito for the day and I ventured in and asked if they could adjust my glasses. The young lady could not have been nice or more helpful. She worked on my glasses so I could wear them again! Her attitude was so positive especially after my Santa Barbara experience.
