Wow... Just wow... All you reviewers are not using this correctly. Killing a location's reviews because of the way your shopping experiences are due to the city or state's moving target of covid rules, laws and suggestions is just not what you put on a review. One person gave this location one star because they "heard lots of employees contracted the Corona virus". I swear we are in bizzaro world. Someone else wrote that they were mad that they couldn't walk in and pick up a huge custom deli platter without waiting... So they went to Subway... Probably should have gone there first where they make sandwich platters to order when you walk in, rather than a grocery store... And then was pissed off because they were busy and suggested to call ahead. The store isn't perfect but the employees are always nice, professional, helpful and enjoyable. I do wish they had modern payment options but it's not something I would write some ranting 1 star review about. I think covid has everyone a little burnt out and with too much time. Yelp iwill become useless when we all start to review these places for stupid little hang ups or to post a story about how your foot hurt in this store because you accidentally left a cashew inside your shoe before putting it on to go shopping. Robbed at Ralph's! Please beware when shopping at Ralph's grocery store! I made a small purchase of $40. When I reviewed my transactions on my online banking I was charged $249. I immediately called. I was asked for a receipt. I lost it :( I was told basically it was my fault for not keeping the receipt. I was persistent and called the store and had them review the store cameras. Sure enough the store confirmed my purchased items. I was told this happens alllll the time!? If the cashier does not close out the order some how it will charge everyone on your credit card!? No clue how this works??? I was told I would get my refund of $199.93 in 5 days. Cool 35 days have passed and I still have not received my money. I called several times. They told me another 5 days. Still waiting!!! I want to warn everyone!!! Please keep your receipts and check your accounts! Even if you purchase something small!!! It seems like a scam! This market gets low reviews, but it's my go-to in the area when I'm not at Costco or Trader Joe's. They have good deals on a lot of products. For example, my favorite ready-to-go garlic naan bread was on sale this week, along with some beautiful looking asparagus, kale, New York steak, and Italian sausage and meatballs. I ended up making three different and delicious dinners out of all these. This market is also the only one that I know of that carries milk stout, which I've been rather found of lately. The employees have all been very nice and friendly. I really have no complaints at all and can't understand why it isn't rated any higher. read more

Today I had a pick-up order and some items were missing. My final price had changed and was $30 more. Looks like there were a lot of orders online and lots of items were gone off the shelf. I see the team working hard and trying to fulfill the orders but it was almost impossible. They get 5 stars for SERVICE. All the staff are great but I will name drop JOSE. I have shopped regularly at this location since moving to the residential track directly across from it in 2017. I live close by so this location is the most convenient for me. Parking is never a problem and I go in Tuesday's so I don't wait in lines. More than once I've come home with a close expiration date or my item goes bad weeks before the printed expiration date, unopened. I prefer the Ralph's off Del Amo and Woodruff or the one near the Traffic Circle to this location. Maybe it's because the Del Amo one is more recently renovated and seems to have a few more specialty items? read more

I always like shopping at Ralph's. They are consistent with having great service and I always check out their clearance section in the back. Very random finds, but often half off or more. I have wanted to update this review many times in the past 6-8 months, but never got around to it. After what I just went through at this store, I am absolutely finished with this Ralph's location! I will NEVER EVER return to this store, nor will any of my family members! Came here to get stocked up on groceries and household items. Wore the mask, stayed away from others to the best of my abilities, and got in line to check out. This is where everything went wrong. There were no signs stating that only one customer at a time was allowed to place their items on the conveyor belt at the check stand. There was no Ralph's employee giving direction regarding the one customer at a time rule for placing items onto the conveyor belt or offering any information to customers. (All the COVID-19 rules change so often in California, especially within Los Angeles county for businesses that I can't keep up with the new orders - I just don't shop anywhere so that I don't have to deal with it!). Aware of the 6 foot thing, I waited until the customer ahead of me in line was well more than 6 feet away and was at the other end of the check stand area, and I put an item on the conveyor belt. The checker lady immediately began screaming at me! She began screaming at me to move away from the conveyor belt because it was ONLY 1 CUSTOMER AT A TIME! Again, there was no signage, nor any Ralph's employee telling customers of this new rule as customers approached the checkout lines. Had Ralph's management just put up some signs and had someone informing customers as they got into the checkout lines, this whole situation could have been prevented. After being screamed at, I waited until I was told that I was allowed to begin placing my items onto the conveyor belt. After getting all of my items on the conveyor belt, this rude checker lady who had just screamed at me was asking me repeatedly if I found everything I was looking for. Well, I was hesitant to say anything to her for fear of being screamed at again. This lady kept asking over and over again as if she was trying to rectify her earlier action of screaming at me. So, I told her that I was unable to find one item in the store and asked her if she knew when a shipment would be coming. Again, she immediately snapped at me in a yelling tone of voice - I DON'T KNOW. I NEVER KNOW WHEN ANYTHING IS COMING INTO THIS STORE. I DON'T KNOW. Rude! This is why I didn't want to ask her! This lady was absolutely ridiculous and the exact reason I am not shopping at stores if I don't have to! This order was HUNDREDS of dollars, yet here I was being screamed at! WHERE IS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE????? If the Ralph's management wants to allow their employees to scream at customers, that is their business. However, the management of this store may want to inform their screaming employees to stop for a minute and think about who they are about to start screaming at. This screaming employee never thought twice about who I could have possibly been - FYI to the screaming Ralph's employee: I am a licensed medical professional with multiple advanced medical degrees in addition to being licensed for public health practice. Please, DO NOT scream at me about COVID-19! I am quite aware of disease transmission and distancing protocols for this pandemic. The next time you scream at a customer in Ralph's, you need to stop and think about who the customer is - you might be screaming at a Medical Doctor or Surgeon for all you know! Today at Ralphs I met and was assisted by Jessica, who just turned 20 is one of the best thus far. I was purchasing some Premium Select brand Southern Butter Pecan ice cream. I noticed there were 3 prices associated with that brand. Well long story short.... I asked Jessica for assistance and she helped me understand the what the coding meant, and I needed to download the Ralphs app, which she assisted me with, also how to access and operate the app, what to look for to obtain the special pricing and how to ensure it worked during check out. She had all sorts of patience in dealing with a senior citizen, and she did it with a smile. I asked if she was a manager or supervisor and she said she was only 20 and had just turned 20 last month. I found her to be management material due to the thoroughness, knowledge, patience and courteousness in dealing with me as a customer. This review is not about the content of the store, but about my collective experiences at this Ralphs store on Carson near Cherry.  Specifically, I have and continue to be racially profiled at the self-checkout section. I am a 54 year old black male.  I visit this store quite a bit, as it is close to my home in Lakewood.  I almost always use the self checkout section.  My profiling always happens the same way.  As soon as I arrive to self checkout section and start scanning my groceries, some clerk (or a manager if the clerks are not available) will come over to where I am and stand close to me.  When I turn to them, they don't try to hide that they are watching me, although they do offer me a pretend-smile.  After I'm completed, they always say "Have a nice day", and they leave and go about their business. Now, you are thinking, why is this profiling?  Let me explain: *  The checkout section has registers either on the store side, or the window side of the store.  The clerk will always stand on whatever side I stop to use a register (and no, I am not paranoid, nor do I behave suspiciously or like I need assistance.) *  They only come to the section when I arrive.  I know this, because I have tested this out several times.  I will pretend to be shopping near the checkout section, and there will be non-black people in the checkout section, and I won't notice a clerk there.  If there is one present, the clerk will be busy doing things not related to assisting a patron.  As soon as I approach and go to a register, a clerk will either stop doing their busy work and stand in my area, or a clerk will immediately come into the section and do the same.  Again, this doesn't happen when I am not in the area.  Only when I enter the area and start scanning groceries.   *  Sometimes, the clerk (particularly a middle aged woman with dark hair) will ask if I need help, sometimes more than once, despite that I'm doing just find scanning my groceries.  Essentially, they will make excuses to afford me the most attention of anyone in the area. * Almost always, as soon as I leave, the clerk leaves.  I know this because, again, I have tested it.  I will pretend to be checking my receipt on my way out, or whatever, and I will notice that clerk, who was once standing guard while I was there, will move on out of the area, or will just stop standing guard and initiate busy work. * They always...always, make sure they say "Have a nice day" to me, as if they know they're profiling me, but want to come across as being pleasant.  Again, only I get this treatment, nobody else.   *  Essentially, whenever I enter the self-checkout section, a clerk will either stop what they were doing and stand guard next to me, or will enter the area with me and stand guard.  Only when I arrive will this happen.  Again, I have tested this out and confirmed via my observation. I am a college educated person, and I am not really sensitive.  Racism and racial profiling are sometimes difficult to establish, let alone prove. Maybe it's not a big deal in the long run, but it gets annoying.  I never complain about much that goes on in our society, and I really don't have issues. But I am certain this store racially profiles its black customers. read more

Shopped everywhere for whole f**d to V*ns to small grocery stores all of my life (I'm sure you have too lol) with that being said you knw customer service is very important. I left another grocery store..left all my grocery in the isle (V*ns) to come here to RALPHS. I come very very often and never am I disappointed at their service! From the personal ringing my grocery to the personal bagging my items every body has been super nice and I love that they are sweet enough to help me out with my grocery to my car if I need it! I knw where things are located..I been to diff Ralphs and it's not the same! The kind of service isn't there! They have variety of fresh produces from veggies to fruits and they have regular produces to organic produces. Great deals! I hope I never have to move from this neighbor cause I will have to drive dwn here for groceries. Love you guys! you guys are the most politest workers ever! The employees who work at the DELI SECTION of Ralphs always seem to AVOID HELPING customers. Some of the employees act like they don't see the customers standing in front of them. I've had several negative experiences. An older man working at the deli ROLLED HIS EYES when I asked if he could slice some chicken for me. During another incident, an older woman working the evening shift said the meat slicer machine was broken and that she could not help me. I had a feeling that she was lying and told the manger. Come to find out the EMPLOYEE HAD LIED about the machine and she just wanted to close the DELI SECTION EARLIER THAN SHES SUPPOSED TO. Other employees at Ralphs are friendly but DELI SECTION EMPLOYEES ARE VERY RUDE. Ralphs management really needs to pay special attention to how the deli employees treat customers. read more

I was very against shopping at this Ralph's location since they shut down MY Ralph's on Long Beach Boulevard but since I absolutely HATE the Vons on LB Blvd., and the Albertson's on Wardlow is completely ghetto, I gradually found myself going in to this Ralph's more and more, and coming to like a little more every time. They've got almost all of the old checkers and baggers from the other location who are always super friendly and always make me feel welcome. The only thing that I am still getting used to is the store layout, if they could only make them all the same so I wouldn't feel like I'm on a treasure hunt every time I come in. Happened to be in the area so I went to this Ralphs. Very clean inside and everything seemed stocked. A bit pricy, but I guess that's to be expected. I just had to be careful and choosy of what I bought. Some of the items in the deli like their chicken salad had no price on the container. Knowing they are pricey, I didn't want to take a chance of what I was going to be charged so I skipped those. My biggest issue was a breakfast sandwich in the frozen section. Normal price is $3.79 but on the side of that there was a tag that said clearance $1.40. I can't argue with that. When I went to check out turned out they were regular price. I explained to the cashier what was advertised. She said it's 3.79. I didn't feel like arguing and didn't want to have them re stock cold food so I got them anyway. I was a little disappointed she didn't want to investigate the price for me or have anybody check. That would have been what is called great customer service. On the way out, I didn't see a manager or anybody to talk to about it. Will not be returning here. read more

Don't you hate it when you go to the store, can't find what you're looking for, find an employee and they can't find what you're looking for....only to go through the check out and have the attendant say, "Did you find everything today?". No. No I didn't. They ask this question, expecting you to say "Yes" and they have no idea how to respond when you reply, "No, I was looking for cinnamon sticks, but you only seem have ground." While waiting to be helped at the Deli, I saw employee Pam sneeze into her ungloved hands, fail to wash them, then return to work handling food. I was in a rush and did not have time to go on a scavenger hunt for a manager. However, I called and was transferred to manager Michael. Once I told him what I saw he stated, "And is there a point to the story?" I asked to speak to a different manager and I was put on hold for 17 minutes. I couldn't wait any longer. Customer service is trash. I had a credit ( from Kroger) that they refused to give me. Claiming that they didn't have the authority at the store level, to refund me..huh? What does that mean. If you can't do it, then who can? Cashier, Marcella D. all but called me a liar, saying that there's no way I would have been given a credit from Kroger and that Instacart had nothing to do with them, even though that's who they use to make their in-app deliveries. The "manager" claimed that they couldn't adjust my price, and that I had to buy more food in order for them to see if I had the credit. Great store, better than Albertsons. I go out of my way to come here instead of going to the Albertsons 5 minute from my house! They have the better quality items and their hot item counter is good also! Store is clean and they have great deals on meat and produce! Racially profiled in this place while shopping tonight.. a first for me where it was so blatantly obvious , and uncomfortable. . Have shopped here for decades...No more for me. Some young man who was checking groceries I caught following me and positioning himself between me, the self checkout and the front door. Like he was waiting for me to bolt. then when someone asked him for help he told them he could help them on check stand #8 which is several feet away from self checkout where I was, and there was no reason for him to be so far away from his check stand. the only reason was for him to be watching me. He then walked all the way back to check stand 8 to assist other customers. He then when confronted of course acted like he did not know what I was talking about. This place does not have to worry. I won't be back. Too many places that will welcome me and offer me assistance instead of making me feel like I don't belong in their store. Like I said not to worry. I will take my black face, and my black dollars a store that actually helps people without the following, and casing, and looking at crazy, and no talking, The behavior of these employees is directly the bidding of the management they serve. I realize that my incident is not isolated and felt by other black men who shop there, As shown in other post. Letty the manager was very rude as well when I called her on the phone. First she answers the phone without identifying herself and has tone like I am bothering her. then instead of apolgy she actually tells me I am wrong. As you see my arms overflowing with groceries why not offer me a cart or hand basket? why not engage in positive helpful way. Not stare me down and take a position next to me by the front door in hopes to become the Ralphs Hero for the day. Its called customer service, they should try it sometime,. WOW. I just read a review from another man who like me is black and in his mid 50's. We experienced similar treatment in this place. I truly believe that this place racially profiles black men. Now that I have read someone with similar experience to mine. They want to do it, then a manager like Letty tries to lie out of it as if at this point in my life I don't know what's happening. After all the years and all the money I have spent in this place all the while they have been looking at me like a criminal instead of a customer and treated me as such. I normally come to this Ralph's because of how close it is to where I work, pretty convenient! The parking lot always has parking which I love, never have to struggle with parking. The staff is very friendly here, and the cashiers are also friendly and pretty quick too! My only issue is that this Ralph's does not have a self check out. I normally just grab a few things and go through self check outs but here it's not an option. Would be nice but not a big issue. read more

The meats selection here is my absolute fave! I'm come here every Thursday morning with a cafecito in one hand and my list in the other. Then I make my way down to the cheese selection and pick out the oh so bestowed best of the ultimate best cheese they have available. I always pick out the peppa jack cheese that mine and my lady's favorite. We literally put it on everything and boy do I mean everything if you know what I mean. After I go and pick up my a 6 pack of what I like to call my buddie lights and then make a quick stop by the freezer selection section. I can see the best service available here. The frozen yogurt sounds good here but I always get the cheese curds they are the most brilliant at nighttime. Been here more often for gas then shopping. Shopping, not much difference then other Ralphs grocery stores. Well stocked, pretty clean, and the staff does their best to accommodate us. The gas station is very helpful, it's in a area where there's not much of a choice. It's very easy to get into and out, and have plenty of pumps during the time when everyone wants to get gas at the same time. This location is very helpful since it's by Heartwell Park. read more
