Everything's locked up and and they take the plastic bags until you pay and add how many bags you need lol it makes leaving the store so much slower. Pretty expensive too. Hire security guards or do something actually efficient to make changes. You need help at self-checkout making it not self-checkout. This Ralph's and I have become acquainted with each other on several occasions now, and I think it and I are going to continue to become better friends. I particularly enjoy this location because it's not crowded. Maybe I'm just not shopping at the right times with all the soccer moms and herds of families, but every time I have come here, I've found it slightly... empty. And I like it. The store is fairly easy to navigate (though I would appreciate it if the dairy and cheese were near each other) and tends to have some decent offers when you use your Ralph's card. They have ample self checkout stations (4 perhaps? I didn't take a good count - I didn't have to queue so didn't need to pass the time), which is great for speedy shoppers, like myself. The store is set back from El Toro a bit in a shopping centre, and unless you're familiar with the area, you might not realize it's there. read more

Worst experience ever!! I'm in Ralph's with my handicap client and service dog. For less the. 5 min a pos manager came up causing a seen!!! Embarrassing my client as he was having a behavior getting all the attention on us as I'm try g to redirect. I informed him the dog was a service dog that I had a badge. He continued to make a scene. Bought three $100 Visa cards here for Christmas gifts. The cards were all compromised and used to get cash out at a gas station in LA before even giving to recipients. Serious scamming going on here, not sure what Ralph's is doing with these gift cards but do not buy gift cards here ever! Ralph's is a large chain grocery store. This specific location is off of El Toro in Lake Forest. I like that this location stays open late till 1am it makes it very convenient for late night shoppers like myself. They have a large variety of items here and the store is big. They also have a lot of promotions around the store and if you download their app they have even more promotions. It's definitely a store that helps you save money. The customer service here is also pretty decent. Overall, it's not a bad store, they definitely have everything you need and they are open later than other stores in the area. read more

Be careful when shopping here! I went in & saw in the floral section a sign right next to the plants that said 4 for $5 for these tiny little potted plants. When rung up, they were $9.99!! I asked the cashier why there's a sign that said 4 for $5? There were no one in line, So I asked to show the cashier the sign that indicate that. The florist was nearby & pointed out the ones that were 4 for $5. I made the florist remove the sign as it's misleading! Also as i walked into the store, there was a sign that said 2 for $5 for the Doritos chips, when rung up, they were $4.29 each!! Again I asked why are there signs that said 2 for $5? Given the ratings I see on this store - and my experience with shopping there - this is one of the few one star ratings I would give a vendor. Seeing a price for a product - buy 2 get 3 free. So is it 3 more free units or is it the 3rd free. These are things I determine with an employee with natural intelligence, as I am bagging my own groceries in the self check out line while someone makes sure I am not a negative loss prevention data point. As a strong 4 digit annual budget consumer of Vons and Ralphs, like many other adults - I run in and out of grocery stores 3 to 5 times a week to either pick up a full order or a small order (like in this case - food care for an elderly parent who will probably not make it this year on a Easter Sunday) - so when I ask the self checkout rep while bagging my own groceries why the third one is free - the individual says - no 3 free - and the bags are over here. So I assume (wrong) that I can pick up the 2 extra bags on way out? Nope they did not volunteer any additional information. Is this a collaborative customer relationship to delight the customer since I'm purchasing from you? Apparently not. When I return from taking a photo of the price tag - and then ask about the pricing - the representative firmly says that I would have to scan all 5 bags - great - I'm in a rush to support my family and you are making it difficult for me because standing there watching customers bag (there were 2 of us) is more important than grabbing a couple bags and helping me scan - or tell me clearly to go grab the 2 more bags and "scan" and "right now". At another Kroger site - I saw an adult male worker tell a senior woman that he didn't fucking care as she asked for help on a service as he rushed back to check out customers. How about - "stand by for 10 minutes we'll send someone over as soon as we clear the demand up front" So perhaps the root cause is poor training from management, worker shortage, and limited resources to help customers given the minimum wage increase and the patchwork improvement by artificial intelligence, which leads me to conclude to choose my vendors carefully for maximum shopping satisfaction. Likely management's fault, but dammit please make it easier for the consumer or watch shoppers go else where. I will not shop here again. read more

So I'm gonna start by saying this is my local Ralphs store I always come here for my kids birthday cake and today I walk in at 1:45 PM and I spoke to the bakery manager. She was already rude and not willing to help me with my order in a little bit. Don't know she was getting ready to end her shift. I asked her for a cake she said well we don't have that till maybe tomorrow I said OK can you ask or call another store to see if they have that in stock she act like she was on the phone she said I don't not getting any response I said, can you please check another store she said you want me to call them I said yes please she didn't look happy to do that so then I got on my phone and I personally called one of your stores and I Laguna Hills was the one who answered and said yes we do have that cake I said OK I'd like to order half sheet and then I said you guys have this image at your place. They said no we don't have the image but you can have them print it out there and bring it to me, I said OK yeah so I asked the bakery manager again I said, can you please print this out for me so that I can take it to your other store where they already have the cake that I want she said sorry I just fuck out I can't help you anymore. I said is there anyway anybody else I could help? She said no nobody else can help you there's nobody else that knows this area in the bakery I said OK can we go speak to your manager then she said sure yeah you can go talk to them but I've clocked out when I'm leaving as she walked out the door left me standing there, so rude was not willing to help me at all so I go over to the counter to speak to one of the managers oh, they were trying to help me so lady young lady. Her name is Jenn she was very kind and willing to help me. She tried her best she could not print it out, but she said come tomorrow and will have it printed out for you. I said, thank you very much for trying, even though she did not know how to do that kind of job, but she tried because she was willing to help me but the bakery manager was just not. Chanlay in the Ralph's floral department on El Toro Rd, in Lake Forest did an incredible job on our Winter Formal flowers!! We forgot to order them early and were frantic on Thursday wondering if we'd find anyone last minute to make them for the dance which was two days away. Christina was so sweet over the phone and assured us, they'd have white roses in stock to make the corsage and boutonnière . She didn't even ask for a credit card to prepay like the florist requires. Corsage was $24.99 and the boutonnière was $9.99. I have paid over double that in the past at a local floral shop. I will NEVER do that again. Chan, as she goes by, did a stunning job with beautiful firm white roses and you'd never know these were less expensive. The navy blue ribbons were nice quality and I loved the second ribbon color of a lighter blue to provide depth and design to the corsage arrangement. I encourage everyone who needs dance flowers to see Chanlay at the El Toro Rd Ralph's floral department. You will NOT be disappointed. read more

Be cautious when buying meat here. I went to this location on 3/19/18 and noticed when I got home that the chicken I bought had a SELL BY date of 3/16/18. Why is chicken being sold 3 days past its sell by date? This wasn't an already packaged pack of chicken either. This was chicken I had packaged behind the counter. When I went to the store on 3/20 to bring it to their attention, instead of an apologetic clerk I was told that this chicken was fine. It's now 4 days past its sell by date! How is that fine?? After trying to reassure me that nothing was wrong with selling chicken with an expired sell by date, they hesitantly refunded me my money. I shopped at Ralphs on El Toro Road, in Lake Forest. I had to buy a few items for our home. For Buddy, I bought him a Hartz; flea and tic collar that has a seven month protection. That is the only thing I can put on him, even that is not easy to put on him. I rescued him from a Pet Smart, about 5 years ago. For the rest of us, I bought five Coke Zeros, in doing so, I paid $0.88 for each 2 litter bottle. Some mini raisin bran muffins, 10 cans of cat food; for out two cats, and The Orange County Register, to get info on the fires near where I live. Sadley every ten years we get large fires near us. My shopping experience with Ralph's started back in 1968 at the Huntington Beach location. The produce section is important to me; their freshness and help was wonderful. Checkers were bright and happy people. Then my daughter was old enough to be employed as a box person until she left for college. We later moved to several other CA cities, then arrived at Del Mar Highlands where once again had another outstanding Ralph's. Now we live in Carlsbad where we once again have a wonderful Ralph's. But this location came with an unusual prize. Checker Nadine from Ralph's Huntington Beach is employed here in Carlsbad. Such a sweet surprise. Ralph's business plan offers the best in service, value, products, and quality. And it is consistant. I can always depend on that. read more

The manager at the store closes the store before 1 AM so be careful if you were trying to get there before closing because if you succeed you will not be granted entry into the store despite your efforts. I walk in to get flowers since the flower shop near by was closed. I was trying to find the nicest thing they have and I finally found it, it was for $34.99. The lady that was there, her name was Duan I think, was beyond rude. I ask her if it's possible to change a flower on there since it looked like it was dying and her response was "I am very offended that you said that, I am not changing anything with it, I got this done yesterday" I told her I wasn't even aware that it was made here and that someone a while ago told me it was totally possible and not offensive to ask for that. She responded by getting more rude and aggressive in her tone and then she picked out pedals from the rose that i pointed was falling apart! This is a nice large Ralphs... and it is clean. I have had really slow check-outs here though, particularly in the 15 items or less. I seem to always have the customer behind me in line as well that just doesnt know the meaning of personal space. I understand this has nothing to do with the store, itself, just sayin :) I wouldnt recommend parking in the spots right up front at the entrance of the store... that is a pretty busy center, and its not very easy to get out from there. It is snowboarding season again and I have been hunting around for cheaper lift tickets for awhile now. I typically use liftopia or mountain high's express pass online loading, so I was surprised to find out this location actually sells live lift tickets - for only $49! You can save $10-20 dollars depending on the typical pass you would normally get had you purchased at lift ticket window. The lift ticket is an all day ticket and is available for use until the end of the season. Once you set board on the mountain and slide through Mountain High's ticket gate, the ticket is deemed usable until the end of the day it is used. Pretty sweet! :) read more

Kudos to our local Ralph's Store management. We are under an extreme heat warning for 3 days. Had to run to the store for something and they have cookers in the front of the store by the registers with cold water for customers. It's a toasty 89 degrees right now and they are predicting 105 degrees tomorrow. The food is consistently high quality whether it is meat, produce and I love the sushi chef. I usually like Ralphs, but they are guilty of the bait and switch. For instance: This week they had organic cherries on sale for 2.99. That is a good deal I think. Anyway the sale was prominently displayed on the bottom of the 1st page of their weekly ad, but when you go to the store they never have it. I went 3 times each to 2-different stores at different times and they don't have it. They'll offer you a raincheck, but you'll have to keep coming back and they'll probably never have them again this season so the raincheck is worthless. Ralph's is great and close to the house. Very clean store as well. Butcher dept and deli are great. Easy layout. They also have a new key cutting machine which I have used already and that was really helpful. Also they do have a coinstar that I used and was able to turn the money straight into a home depot gift card without any charges. Will continue to shop here. read more

Ralph's should not contract with Instacart. Per the shopper, our order was left on a luggage cart by a "big white thing" at the valet's direction. There is no valet where we are lodging, no big white thing and no groceries. We are seniors. I tried visiting and calling nearby properties -- no luck. My sister is traveling with me, so now we have a possible health problem because she's a 76 year old diabetic. Someone has $200 of food, we have a health and safety challenge ( it's late and dark). Instacart tells me it will be 10 days before our money is refunded. Ripoff and incompetence. read more
