There is one place you can come and drop off your cl9thes at the dry cleaner taking your time at the deli which had the best salads with the best bakery. Taking a trolley ride up to Novel Lajolla Village the shopping mall that is close by the Lue Line Trolley for the many stores you can do alot more. Rslphs Fresh has a whole department carries the many line of items and food products from the kosher cookies to the meat department that does the many cuts for the Jewish shoppers. Ralphs has added a cheese shop that you can go and meet with the workers asking about cheese grades to the many stronger grades. Doing my shopping at Nobel Lsjolla with many bargains best prices with the meats and to see a Ralpgs with dishes and frying pans is one ypu can small barbecues to beach chairs. When you finish and head to the registers the many items they have for the last minute compulsory to the candy bars kids do like candy. The quck and curtious way the clerk did I find everything I needed I used my phone number to get the shoppers discount the bagger took care of my purchases. Leaving the cashier area looming seeing the fresh fair is one of the biggest for Lajolla Village. Thank you to the fastest cashier I've ever encountered for making my purchasing experience fats and efficient. I stopped last night to do last minute Christmas shopping. Seeing long lines and being exhausted after work, I just joined another long line. To my surprise, the line was moved extremely fast by super kind gentleman. I did not catch his name but he was in his 30s/40s and heavily tattooed. He asked for my membership card, I kind of froze and was trying to figure out where it was and he just went ahead and applied store's membership discount anyway. He smiled and said he was in 'lightening fast mode" and wanted to make sure line moves fast to assist everyone. I found it very sweet because the last thing you want to do before holidays is to spend more time in lines. read more

My girlfriend and I visited the Starbucks inside Ralphs for the first time to pick up a mobile order. We're big fans of the Matcha Frappuccino with salted foam. When I picked up our order, I took a sip and noticed that the foam tasted like vanilla instead of salted. We spoke with the staff to explain that the drink wasn't made correctly. One of the employees, named Scarley, insisted that it was salted foam and that nothing was wrong. We disagreed, but instead of checking our order, she offered to give us salt packets to add ourselves which didn't make sense. Then, she threw away our drink right in front of us. Her attitude and actions felt very disrespectful. Scarley mocking us with another customer about we tried to get the salt correctly. To make matters worse, Scarley mocked us with another customer about our request for the correct salted foam. Scarley and another staff member made a new drink for us, but the color looked off and both of them clearly showed they didn't want to engage with us. We asked if they had added the 8 scoops of matcha we ordered and paid extra for. They told us the drink only had 6 scoops, even though our order clearly stated 8. When we tried to show Scarley the receipt, she didn't even look at it. Then she tried to dig in trash can to look what we had ordered. We told her that her behavior was rude, and she responded by saying we were being loud. We felt extremely uncomfortable and disrespected by her tone and actions, which also came across as racially insensitive. We ended up requesting a refund. As loyal Starbucks customers, we were deeply disappointed by this experience. We understand that this Starbucks inside Ralphs may be operated by Ralphs under license, but the employees still represent the Starbucks brand. I'm a big fan of Ralph's, in general, but this location is really tops for me. It's really spacious and the selection is more varied than most locations that I see in the area. Inside the store, there are a lot of enticing displays of fresh and prepared foods and you get the signature freshness that you come to expect in the meat, seafood, and produce sections. Parking is somewhat difficult to navigate but if you come in on the back side off Gilman/Villa La Jolla Drive, then you can avoid some of the madness. One last thing that I like about this location is that there are so many complimentary businesses in the same area, so you can run several errands at once. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE at ***Starbucks*** inside this market place Don't come here for your drink, they treat customer poorly and their drink is bad. We come here to order drink during our trip nearby.I ordered a drink with salted foam, but when I tried it, it turned out to be vanilla foam. I've ordered the salted foam from Starbucks hundred times before, so I know the difference. At first, a barista named Scarley told me she could give me a bags of salt so I could add as much as I wanted. Then another employee offered to remake my drink, and Scarley threw my original drink into the trash very harshly. They kept making my second drink incorrectly. When I pointed out that I had ordered 8 scoops of matcha but she only added 6, she insisted that I had ordered 6 and asked to see my order history on my phone. When I looked it up to show her, she refused to look and instead searched through the trash for the previous cup. At that point, I told her not to remake my drink because I felt I was being treated unfairly and possibly discriminated against. She responded by saying, "Yes, I am racist." That was a terrible experience. My friends and family who were with me also witnessed what happened, and we all felt very disappointed. This review is for the Fruit Department at this Ralph's. This is the only grocery store in town that is open before the gym so I regularly stop in here to load up on fruit for the day. Everybody that works in this department is always so welcoming and kind. I'm always greeted with a smile and a "Good Morning". If I ever have any questions about seasonal fruits the folks here are always more than willing to stop what they're doing and give me their time. Everything is ALWAYS nicely stocked. These folks do a really nice job and should be commended for their work. I'm a daily sauna user and was drinking organic coconut water out of the bottle for the longest time to replenish any lost electrolytes. Not anymore. Now I buy an actual coconut every morning and stick a metal straw in the soft spot. Coconut water is nature's Gatorade and what better than going directly to the source? Anyways -- big fan of the Fruit Department here. Definitely worth a visit if you haven't been. read more

May as well do a review for Ralph's, seeing as Yelp just 'highlighted' one of my many, many pictures taken at their store. Thanks, Yelp! This grocery store has it ALL. When I say all, I mean literally everything you can think of that you would ever need from your local grocery. And the folks working there are always helpful and friendly. One great feature that makes this store stand out from all the rest is their Liquor Lounge located next to the liquor section. It has barstools and tables and chairs where you can sit to have a snack, and even includes bartenders to serve you! 21 and older, of course. Also in this lovely store is an efficient and talented florist. The Floral Designer employed there 3 years ago was very talented and made beautiful arrangements for all occasions. Rounded out with stellar meat, produce, deli and bakery departments, this is a one-stop shop. There is also a full service Wells Fargo Bank inside with actual tellers, unless that also has gone the way of 'virtual' now, as so many jobs continue to be eliminated. I'm not sure if this has changed in this way in the last 3 years. I have a true weird story: One time I was in the store, there was a 7.3 magnitude earthquake! It was pretty cool to see all the overhead signs swaying violently back and forth! Eye-opening for sure! But when the momentum picked up, and liquor bottles started rolling off the shelves, the store employees quickly evacuated everyone for safety. It was really wild! Anyway, La Jolla was a pretty nice town to live in and this grocery store is the best of the best! read more

I love this Ralphs and they've really updated this place to look even better than it did before! It looks way more upscale and yet the prices are still better than Vons. They've added tons of self-check out stations on both ends of the check out lanes and a Starbucks. They've completely revamped the sushi, cheese, and deli counters. It's just a great place to go and shop. I still use this place for work catering and they are awesome. I always place an order online (since it's easier and more convenient for their workers) and everything is ready by the time I am there to pick up my food. You need to allow at least 24 hours for orders; payment is due at the moment you pick up. The people behind the counter are always super nice when I'm there to pick up my food and it just makes me want to always go there whenever I'm hosting a work event. BTW, every time I do a catering order for Ralphs, EVERYONE loves the food and always asks me where I get it. When I tell them Ralphs they're always shocked because they don't expect that this place would give good food. Personally I'm always surprised myself because I always worry about not bringing good food to my work coworkers. Here is the food I recommend in case you want to do some catering: Sushi (this always goes fast and is the priciest of them all) Home Chef St. Louis Ribs Home Chef Breaded Bone In Wings in Buffalo Sauce (these go fast, too and spicy) Mozzarella and Tomato Platter BTW, the prices are great; I usually end up spending $5-7 per person for a party of 30 people and there is always food left over. I saw Ralphs Kosher Experience on Chabad and thought, "Let's see if this place really has kosher stuff." Walked in -- looked like any regular Ralphs -- and I was like, meh, pretty disappointing. Then I turned the aisle and boom -- kosher central! Salads, bakery, prepared food (yum), meat (for those who eat it lol), cheese, pizzas by the slice and oven-ready ones too, groceries, even Doritos. Let me say that the majority of people that I rave about Rave about Ralphs disagree with me!!!! Those people really need to open your eyes! This is the absolute 100% truth! Vons is more expensive by a whopping $2.00 per item than Ralphs!!!!!!' The people that work at Ralph's are HAPPY, and you can't say that about Vons. Vons won't hire managers, so their employees work double shifts or, there is one person to help you like in the deli only one location of the store. If they don't have enough people they just close are and stop sticking or registers are closed. Helluyea you won't find any of that at Ralphs. However, I couldn't return to the store to pick-up and when I contacted Ralph's (who confirmed they had my items in the refrigerator) they refused a refund. I was then connected with someone who informed me the bookkeeper was out but should get back to me in two days whether they could process a refund. I doubt I will be refunded now but the experience at this location has me labeling this spot as a "never again." read more

Ralphs is going upscale.  I noticed a separate fried chicken area named The Chicken Co.  Instead of warming trays they have the chicken in a fancy new display.  You can buy a meal or by the piece with the wing at 99 cents being the cheapest.  The container is the same cardboard container I get at KFC.  I showed up a bit after 11am so the chicken was warm and fresh without being dried out.  Batter was crunchy and meat was moist.  Nice fried flavor.  Among the best grocery store chicken I've had.  Stater Bros is my fav spot.  I like the flavor a little better and it's cheaper at 8 pieces for $5.99.  Ralphs has done a good job with improving their fried chicken.  I suspect they are using fresher oil.  Back in the old days when Ralphs was located across the street where Whole Foods is now I worked in the deli.  In those days the oil was reused till there were pretty nasty odors which ended up giving the fried chicken a funky aftertaste.  Chicken was pretty good if you happened to purchase it when the oil was fresh.  I don't miss those days when it was my turn cleaning out the bottom of the fryer. read more

After 30 minutes of not moving, with a teen who doesn't really like shots anyway, we fled the chaos and went right over to Rite Aid Mira Mesa. I'd gotten vaccinated there and it's so efficient. My kid was third in line as a walk-in, and we were in and out. And they're so nice! This is the biggest Ralph's store I've encountered, though I guess it helps to know that it's in a college town and many students go here for their groceries. Despite having an extensive amount of products, it's still pretty organized and spacious. Love that there are a lot of self-checkout stations, very convenient. As all Ralph's stores go, there are more competitive product prices out there; compare prices here with the prices at the neighboring Trader Joe's. I can't say enough how much I am impressed by the high service that Jon, who I think works in the pastry department & Sonja who works in the deli department right next door, are with their customers. I come in at least once a week. I often come in early in the morning and see all the workers still restocking and getting ready for the day, including them. They are both very proactive, and every time they have seen me just looking around or if I am lost, they stop what they are doing to help me. In other stores people will ignore you when they are busy, which I understand...but Jon and Sonya, even when they are visibly busy will take the time and make sure I am being helped all the way through. I work in a service industry and can't stress how amazing this is to see. Their actions has caused me to come back to this store (given the options around). In a world of people struggling to "just get it done" these two go above and beyond for people. Thank you Jon and Sonja for your amazing friendliness, amazing work ethic and high standard for people! I went to get a birthday cake for my son. He is turning 17 years old today. No one was at the Bakery Department. Ghizlane, who was working at the Deli Department came over and try to help me. She paged for assistance. While waiting for an assistant, I was looking for #1. I couldn't find any on the number racks. Ghizlane went and looked for it at another rack. She found one for me. One of the better Ralphs in an Diego. The parking lot is a mess, mostly because it seems the students who shop here are, uh, under-experienced in parking. The store is usually well stocked. This location has a wider range of products that favor the student population who shops here. This location also contains a Murray cheese counter, with a wide selection of cheeses. Always a great selection. Friendly cheese mongers who will offer a taste of any cheese. Another plus is that there are always a lot of checkout lanes in addition to the self-checkouts. The staff has always been very friendly. The best part of this Ralphs is the large Kosher section. They deserve an extra star for this! There are four aisles of Kosher goods and a large bakery section. Plus there is a Kosher kitchen which prepares all sorts of delicious offerings, may favorite being the mushroom knishes and an amazing kugel. A expected, it is closed on Saturdays (and the kitchen is sealed with tape to detect any Kosher tampering). But most of the prepared food is still available prepacked and in the refrigerated cases. The one downside is that it is called The Kosher Experience. Like it is an amusement park of some kind or a type of Zoo where folks keeping Kosher can be spotted. Pro tip: Wearing a yarmulke seems to ensure that they serve you faster and more courteously. read more

Wow this is the nicest Ralph's grocery store I've been to! Once you walk in there is a nice seating area to have some Starbucks and lunch. It's organized nicely and the signs are clear. We were able to find the ice cream we wanted easily and quickly. They had party tubs on sale for $5 and some change. Everything you need for an ice cream social is in the same aisle. We picked up rainbow cones and sugar cones. Forgot an ice cream scooper so we picked one of those up too. Self check out was a breeze. Overall I really like this Ralph's it is very nice inside and it's located in a good shopping center. Defiantly will utilize this one more when I'm in the area. read more

I'm writing this review during the covid19 pandemic. Before the stay at home period, I think this Ralph's is great. The store is big with a good variety of foods, produce, and other products. It was clean and well maintained. However . . . During the pandemic, it's another story. I visited this store once during the beginning of when stores changed their hours and were limiting people into their stores. There was a short line to get in which seemed good but once inside no one seemed to care about social distancing or limiting the number of items a person could buy. Hopefully that changed. I'm not going back in to find out. Then I helped my parents place an online order to be delivered and almost nothing they received was correct. The distilled water was substituted with a bottle of baby water with flouride, the Tide liquid detergent was substituted with Tide pods, the coffee was different, and brands were switched. The only correct item in the order was the milk. I know things are running low but shouldn't they have been given notice and then asked if the substitutions would be okay? I ordered from Sprouts and in the order I was asked if a substitution could be made on an out of stock item. But Ralphs didn't have that option. So we won't be going or ordering from this Ralph's during this pandemic. read more

I admit that I hate grocery shopping in person, so I am weekly Ralph's Grocery Pick-up user! The process is very smooth and such a time saver for me. The folks they have picking out my groceries really do an excellent job and I cannot thank them enough. However, one person in particular is INCREDIBLE and always goes above and beyond to ensure my order is correct.... Special shout out to Eileen!!! I honestly cannot say enough great things about Eileen. She is SO king and always brings a smile to my face, she is so hardworking, and she is a great communicator! There was this one time where my Ralph's shopper accidentally forgot my cheese order, coincidentally I did too but I didn't raise a fuss (it's only cheese after all )... but you know who didn't forget? Eileen! She made SURE that it was credited back to my next order. I've never had encountered someone so reliable and honest before in my life. Eileen rules, and if anyone gets the opportunity to work with her, you're in for a treat! I literally won't shop for groceries anywhere else because I enjoy working with Eileen too much.
