I was quoted 69.00 from Paulette through a text (see below screen shot). They told my husband 80.00, he wrote a check to them for 80.00. My husband had them fill in the payee information which is (see below copy of the check). We were not happy with our experience at all. I put a stop payment on the check, as this seemed like a scam as they didn't do anywhere near a complete job of cleaning only the dryer vent. When I read the reviews and the company profile, I thought it was a great, respectful, mom and pop company that would do a wonderful job and so we gave Duct Masters a try. They did not do as Paulette indicated that they would do, an inspection of the scope of work and then we could decide at no cost if we wanted them to continue to do the work. They were rude, not prepared and did not clean the dryer vent as it should've been done, only about 15% was cleaned. They also did not clean up after themselves before they left.

After this issue we contacted the owner and he refused to answer phones. It was filthy because I haven't had it cleaned in a while. Although I wish I would have asked to see the dust in the machine just to measure how much dust had accumulated over 3 years. I feel good that I am breathing cleaner air and do not notice dust everywhere like before. I do think the pricing of the duct cleaning is a bit expensive for an apartment unit and the amount of time it took to clear out dust. You should also shop around because some places offer bonus services that you may or may not need, or may even be hazardous to the occupants of the home, like sealants or chemicals. Check the EPA page on "Should You Have the Air Ducts in Your Home Cleaned?" for a thorough treatment of the topic, though note that it's much less enthusiastic about duct cleaning than people's subjective experiences, especially people with allergies or sensitivities, or if you've just done a remodel. I'd refer to "Is it worth it to get your air ducts cleaned?" on r/homeowners and "Is air duct cleaning a scam?" on r/hvacadvice. With that out of the way, Miguel cleaned our ducts quite thoroughly. He inserted the vacuum to the air handling unit. This would provide the negative pressure to ensure most of the dust and debris would go to the vacuum. Then he use a air compressor to knock loose the dust at each register and as far into the ventilation as he could push the nozzle. My registers unfortunately went up towards the attic, so dust was guaranteed to get knocked loose into the room, so we had to vacuum. This would have gone smoother if Mr. Duct had sent a partner with Miguel. Miguel was also very helpful in airdropping the photos of the ducts to my phone, which was important because we were trying to identify what might be triggering allergic reactions. For roughly $300, it was very reasonable. I would recommend Mr. Duct to those who need duct cleaning services.

I've taken a year to write this review; to really reflect on everything this company has done…read moreadequately but also more importantly, what they have taken from me. I'll try not to belabor the points I have issue with as I think two stars are exceedingly generous of me in light of everything, but hope to provide anyone thinking of contracting with this company with an experience to think about. I reached out to Servpro regarding a kitchen sink flood/water damage. The event happened in April 2023, and I wasn't able to move back into my home until November 2023. This almost 8 month ordeal was due (not entirely, but in large part) to Servpro. RE water mitigation: this portion of service was generally fine, and the only reason there is a second star on this review. There were long delays in communication, incomplete work that required the mitigation team to return, and shifting contact points as people "left the office," but Jesús, Carlos, and Sean were generally easy to work with and completed tasks quickly one issues were identified. RE restoration: this is where I would recommend you steer clear and avoid using this company for restoration work, especially if Chris J is the supervising contact point. My experience with the restoration team was abysmal - again the same song and dance with infrequent communication, last minute changing deadlines or just not meeting the set goals, and sometimes outright lying. Until the point at which Servpro's representative, Chris J, quit the project suddenly as work was beginning; for which he cited that the project was not aligned with company policies despite the fact that for 2 months he had been aware of the nuances of this project and made not a peep about the project being beyond the company's scope. Now, I will say that Servpro agreed to not charge me/my insurance for the extended storage fees incurred because I had to find new contractors once they packed up my household items in storage and quit the project. But even achieving that took many extended phone calls on my part, and was not something offered by the company knowing they were in the wrong here. After multiple missteps by Servpro, I will admit that towards the end of my time in communication with them I was often abruptly assertive and without much empathy when trying to fix what they had gotten wrong. But while Servpro did not cause the flood in my kitchen, nor were they entirely to blame for the extended timeline on this project, they undoubtedly were a large contributor to my extended monetary cost, mental stress and exhaustion, and the diminished quality of life I experienced by making the unfortunate choice is asking them for help.

Theyre the real deal and true craftsmen of vent cleaning. I called them up based on all the positive reviews and they did not disappoint. Worked with me on my tight move-in schedule and came right within the window of time promised. Documented with a snake scope how dirty each vent/duct were before and how clean they were after. Kept my whole house clean during and after the cleaning. HEPA vacuum unit was outside pulling negative pressure to keep the indoors free of dust. Explained everything thoroughly. Price was not cheap but quite reasonable for how thorough they cleaned (about $600 for my split level 3b/3b and 130 for dryer vent) and final price was in the quoted range with no up-sell or any last minute increases. Honest guys. Air ducts, returns, dryer vent all cleaned. Even checked my blower and told me it didn't really need to be cleaned. My vents took extra time and they stayed late until the job was done. DId a nice job patching the access to the vent. Even found issues during the cleaning that didn't involve the HVAC. I would recommend these guys again and again to anyone who is moving into a new house or apartment, or hasn't had their ducts cleaned and has allergies or is sensitive to air quality. Protect your loved ones by warning them, reporting these unethical practices, and finding a reputable alternative. Don't become another victim of their deceitful tactics and outright scams. Here's just one example: We were charged a hefty fee for absolutely no work. Their truck couldn't navigate our driveway on a snowy day, and instead of rescheduling, they went ahead and billed us anyway. When we called to dispute the charge, we were met with pure arrogance--told that we "don't understand how their business works" and that we were required to pay, no matter what. They demanded an outrageous amount for literally nothing. It felt like a joke--except it wasn't. This company is clearly taking advantage of the elderly without remorse. We are reporting them to the Better Business Bureau, and we encourage others to do the same. Do they honestly think they can just skip the work and still charge seniors? Absolutely disgusting.
