I like Ralphs stores because they carry a wide variety of organic products and you can't beat the prices. This Ralphs is smaller than the ginormous Ralphs at Zelzah and Chatsworth down the street. Yet, for essential items and services such as floral, seafood, and bakery, this is your one stop. Five stars for having the New Release DVD Rental Machine (touch screen kiosk). This allows me to rent a hot new movie for $1 with a credit card! Sixth star for my recent celebrity sighting! Remember Ellen's TV sitcom and her quirky friend at the bookstore? "Hello, Ellen." I came in here to pick a few things up and man were they soo helpful. The guys were working hard bringing things from the back and while Woo L. was cleaning and sanitizing everything he was so kind to help me and while Andrew M. Was bringing in stuff from the back he stopped what he was doing to help me and make sure I got what I needed and they both made the restroom customer friendly. Why is it every time I ask for western union it's "down" I find that hard to believe because one of the store managers told me it should never be down and that some of them say that because it's a process to do it so if that's the case Ralph's needs to reevaluate why these people are there getting paid hourly to work when they don't want to work if Western is part of the services that Ralph's offers then there's no reason on why it should be down every time I've been coming to this row three years and I've only completed one Western Union I have family outside of the country that I like to support and Ralph isn't supporting me off to Vons it is smh read more

I've been coming to this Ralph's location for over 10 years now, so I've seen firsthand most of the changes through the years and thought I'd give a review of its current state. The one thing that has pretty much stayed the same is the cleanliness. Ralph's is a tidy store, and very rarely have I seen any unattended spills, or products just laying around in random places. Their products are almost always in the spot they should be in, and though their overall selection is limited, most items are in stock. The cashiers are fast and pleasant, and the atmosphere feels welcoming and laidback. Again, every department has a limited selection, but offers the basics. The floral department is well kept, however, roses and orchids are the majority of what they offer. The Deli offers a good selection, but their ready-made buffet section is awful. Most of that food sits all day, it's dry and tasteless. Don't buy any of it. One exception are the ready-made chicken in a box - not bad. The bakery is laughable. Their raw fish section is like 4 feet wide and the fish is usually not exactly fresh, I get that it's a small market, but why bother? The worst however is the produce. The last three years, the fruits and vegetables have been HORRIBLE. Greens are wilted, strawberries are already rotting in their packages. The apples and pears are tasteless or bitter. At first I thought this was due to CA's drought problem, but several other nearby stores like Von's and Food For Less have good produce, putting Ralph's to shame. It's been this way a few years now. I noticed a lot of their produce is imported from Mexico - which is a shame since CA is the #1 food supplying state in the country, and here they are importing fruit from a 2nd world country that never arrives fresh. Probably to cut down costs. Price-wise, Ralph's is typically cheaper than Von's, but more expensive than Food For Less. To recap; PROS: * Friendly and fast cashiers. * Clean store. * Laidback atmosphere. * Ample parking. This used to be my favored store but I will NOT be coming back. I saw an employee clean a warm soup area with a napkin, he then put the napkin in his mouth to wet it- then continue cleaning the area. I wanted to complain to the manager , till I found out it was the manager who was doing the cleaning! Very unsanitary! I then went to check out my groceries and they insisted I do self check out. I had a lot of groceries and ended up leaving things behind because I didn't want to deal with it. Bad customer service ever!!!!!! I go to many Ralph's but this the manager and cashier (ladies) working on 8/11 in the afternoon it the worst experience. Sorry I didn't catch their name. But they very discriminate me just because I use my money that they assume that it his money because it come from his pocket. They refuse to sale the beer and one of the soda to me. And refuse not to sale for a day. Come on by the law, u can not choose to sale or not sale if I get in there and give u the id and my age over 21 yrs. you suppose to sale it and the word assume can not use in court. U can't assume. Normally a very friendly store . I bank at US so I do shopping there at same time often. Went for flowers to take to cemetery on Wednesday August 16/2017 it was my mothers birthday want nice bouquet found some pretty flowers 19.99 ea. Bought 2. If I hadn't been in hurry to get to cemetery I would have put flowers back and went somewhere else!! I had to update after coming in here on two separate occasions and being treated with horrible customer service by the same cashier. His name starts with 'W' and ends wth an "M". The first time going through his line, I had to sit and wait until he got finished gawking at the customer who was in front of me in line. As she left he literally stood there, back to me, as he watched her walk out. Then preceded to talk to the box girl about how much he liked that girl. Then, starts to check me out without uttering a greeting, nothing! Tonight, I was hesitant but his lane was empty. Only one other person in front of me. Come to find out, it's another employee cashing his check. He didnt have enough cash in his drawer so he walked away with this other employee to get the rest of his money. TOOK HIS TIME, talking and laughing with this guy while we, THE CUSTOMERS, stood there, IN LINE. When he FINALLY returned, he looks at me and says, ' "You might wanna take your stuff over to that register, this is gonna take a while". WHAT??? This guy wanted ME to take all of my groceries off of the counter and move to the lane behind me? HOW UNPROFESSIONAL...HE should have moved my stuff. The cashier behind me and the box person actually came and got all of my stuff, I could feel that she was uncomfortable with how he was acting. ARROGANT, uncaring, KID. He preceded to tell everyone else in his line to do the same as me. As he stood there joking around with this other employee. He has no business being a checker, way too immature! So unless your barely legal and cute, or his homeboy, don't go through his line because he could give a damn about anyone else. read more

I stopped in here at the behest of the Ladyfriend while on the way home to pick up some items for dinner. Their selection is good, and the prices are great. Marco rang up the items, he is great. I have to say that dealing with the public in any capacity is a challenge. He has the line moving but it is friendly and efficient. Also, they are one of the few places that I've not seen any panhandlers hanging around in front. Although I am not usually a Ralphs guy, I will say that this location is great and I would recommend them. read more

I have been shopping here with my family since I was an infant. We have never had a bad experience in the 20 years we have shopped here it is always clean sanitary and provides great customer service I always have fun going here even though it's just a grocery store every employee is nice especially Maria and the ladies that work in the pharmacy keep up the good work :-) read more

Just had the worst experience with one of the worker at Ralph's. Almost all the staff is super friendly and welcoming. Expect Jerry H. She is the rudest lady I've met. I was talking to the cashier and she rudley started to raise her voice and yelling over freaken cereal!! She has her name tag covered and I'm sure it is because of her disrespectful attitude. Had a horrible experience with their greeter/guard she's a Hispanic elder lady probably in her 60s, extremely rude and discriminating towards her own kind. She stands at the door and looks at Ralphs customers wrong. She doesn't have good customer service given the fact that she is in the retail part of the business, she needs retraining but doubt she will get it since she doesn't speak very well English they figure why bother. They need to place her somewhere else away from public interactions she makes Ralphs look real bad. read more

This the works Ralph's in LA. I have been shopping with Ralph's for over 30 years and I have never experience the unprofessional and unorganized store like this one. They lack products and some of the employees seem to hate their jobs. The worst department is their meat. You can stand there pressing the button for service and they will take forever. There is one Philipino man who is extremely rude and I always end up arguing with him because he doesn't want to do his job. I asked for 1 1/2 of salmon and he gives me just over a pound. When I tell him I needed a a pound and a half he got upset and said he couldn't give me that amount exactly. I told him I needed more if he couldn't measure it exactly. He cut a horrible piece and threw it in the bag. When I tried to complain to a manager there seems to never be anyone in charge. Unfortunately it's the closest Ralph's and I have no other choice but to switch to Vons after 30 years. read more

Not the best Ralphs I have been to. Used to be a staunch Ralphs shopper but this place was kind of ghetto, compared to the Vons on Balboa.

i only come to this ralphs when i run out of milk or need something while im cooking... so in other words, only when i really have to. its the closest market to my house but i prefer the ralphs on chatsworth near Granada or the vons on balboa. both of those are a lot newer and nicer. but, the plus is that this ralphs is a lot quieter than the other ralphs on chatsworth... so less people to deal with, and easier/less congested parking. but they usually only have 2 cashiers open at one time so the line can really back up sometimes... really annoying when im only picking up a carton of milk so i can eat my morning bowl of honey nut cheerios. they need to get those self check out thingees.. read more

The staff and people are very helpful and polite but the bakery bread, and food like fried chicken and potato wedges etc. They will keep it there all day. The only thing thats great about this place is that its usually never busy. their customer service and the overall management sucks donkey balls, they have fairly young staff that seems as if they just dgaf. it seems like there's a lot of drama between the staff, the female cashiers are always gossiping about other coworkers. it entertains me while i'm waiting in line. but i could really care less about customer service. because they dgaf it provides a laid back environment and its a good store to go to if want to get in and get out. p.s. its not really well kept, i don't buy anything that they prepare ie deli, produce, meats., etc read more

I've been going to Ralphs Pharmacy for quite a few years. Although I have a Costco membership, Costco doesn't offer the $10 90 day generics that Ralphs offers. For many of my generics, Ralphs Pharmacy is my choice. The staff is great, they know me by name, and they've always been friendly and helpful. (In fact, because the staff recognizes me, they often have my prescription at the counter, having pulled it from their shelf when they saw me walking in their direction). Most of my prescription refills are filled in minutes. Although they may be a bit more expensive for the medications that aren't on their cheap generic list, it's less of a hassle to go to Ralphs for my medication than to fight with parking and lines at the Costco pharmacy. (Also -- if I need groceries, it's nice to be able to do medication pick-up and grocery shopping in the same place) read more

Hey, this location of Ralphs store I go to is not bad. It is a little too busy, but nice atmosphere. I don't see too many run down people here, so it is also a good thing. The sale people are very nice and show that they care. My check out was pretty quick here and they did not make any double scans or stuff like that. So first experience here was pretty smooth. The selection is just the same as other Ralphs stores, which is not surprising. read more

This market has degenerated into an awful place service wise. I've shopped here for years and kick myself every time I go in for not driving 2 miles farther to another Ralphs. Check out man today was surly, totally unfriendly and grudgingly helped bag food. I know I have to self bag here even at check out stand. I requested $40 cash back. Counted it out 3 times and he had given me $50. He saw me counting and snapped. "You wanted $40 back". I nicely said, yes and you gave me $50, here is $10 back. He glared at me and literally threw the bill down by his register and never said a word. Daughter was told by a Ralphs/Kroger big wig at a social event that this is the poorest performing store in all their stores. I believe it. Manager was chewing out a young employee right at the check out stands. From now on I'll drive to Zelzah/Chatsworth store AND I'm writing to Ralph's corporate office. read more

My family has been shopping at this Ralph's for years, but I'm writing this review because of the treatment my mother received during a recent incident in the store. Bear with me, it's a little weird. On Christmas Eve, my mother was shopping when a man approached her, asking for advice on which product to buy for his mother who has to watch his sodium. She gave him her advice, and when she turned around, she noticed her wallet was missing from her purse. Immediately, she started running after him and yelling for people to stop him because he stole her wallet. Several employees jumped to action, also running after him, and one employee even asked another patron if she would allow him into her car so they could follow him by car (the other patron obliged). Unfortunately, they did not catch the man, and after looking at security footage, they discovered that another man took the wallet out of her purse while the first man distracted her. Miraculously, and most likely due to the diligence of the employees who jumped to action, her wallet was found by another patron in the parking lot with all of its contents in place. The staff and manager were very kind to my mother during a very stressful event, and we are forever grateful. read more

The pharmacist refused to order and fill my birth control, right after she asked me if I have a coupon and I said yes. Can you believe this pharmacy can refuse to fill prescriptions because you have a coupon? Very disappointed with the customer service there. read more

ALL PHARMACY'S SHOULD BE REQUIRED BY LAW TO ACCEPT OUTDATED PRESCRIBED MEDS. This Ralphs nor the CVS accept expired meds. It should be like the plastic and aluminum cans. Someplace where we can have our meds destroyed correctly without harming who know what when we flush them or dispose of them in land fills. read more

I cannot say enough about the Deli Department that met and exceeded my requests for platters for an event at the Valley Performing Arts Center. I ordered 13 different platters, some of which were not in the catalog. I also asked that the fruit platter be "all fruit" and not include the yoghurt dip. The platters were ready on time and were BEAUTIFUL. They were exactly what I wanted/needed and were very much enjoyed by our guests at a fraction of the cost of other catering quotes I'd solicited. I will be using them again for an upcoming party. If you need platters for a casual event - this is the place to go! read more

I rated this place very low almost a year ago after I got home and realized the ice cream they sold me had expired 6 months prior. This place has improved leaps and bounds in the last year. They seem more well staffed now, so the wait at the check out lines has improved. Many of the staff are quite friendly, though I am disappointed that one of their most incompetent staff members seems to have been promoted, so she's always around being her gossipy, rotten self. The produce section is much better now; it's clean, pretty fresh, and well stocked. And I haven't seen expired food on the shelves since shortly after my last review. I wrote a somewhat angry letter to the company and they sent me back a pathetic one line response basically saying that they had not heard any other complaints about their store but they would talk to their staff. Either way, after a short boycott, this store has improved greatly. Good job, guys. read more

Deli staff unprofessional and rude! Waited to get sandwiches. One of the employees was making a sandwich but it seemed to take a very long time since she and the customer were talking quite a bit. She also kept saying to the other customers that she was the only one working there. Then another employee made sandwiches for the next customer. It was my turn and I was standing there for a while. I did not want to disturb her since she was cleaning up, although quite slowly. She then walked away and was gone for a while in the back. When she resurfaced I asked if she was still working, and she replied in a very snippy way that she would be there in a minute. After waiting many minutes, I finally left. If she was not able to help me she should have let me know. During the 25 minutes I was waiting the employees also seemed to be arguing off and on in the back. Strange way to run a business. read more
