This is my regular grocery store. I always see Krayden in the produce section. It is obvious that he works very hard and takes great pride in what he does. My neighborhood Ralph's! They just updated the technology on the self check out so it scans really well. Also they have this thing that scans the bottom of your cart. Very tech savvy Ralph's! Great warm food section with a large variety and sushi station. Friendly staff. Cute little organic produce section. Good flower selection. Awesome bakery. Let's just say I'm happy. Worst customer service ever. Juana the store manager called the police on me for wanting to exchange baby formula. I told her I don't have the receipt but she can look it up with my credit card but for some reason they not able to do that even though another manger said they can. Very clean store. Lay out is decent and they're very fast in here. Although I often use the self check out which also moves fast, not all stores have an attendant at hand like this one does. There's always carts and baskets ready as well. For a busy store they're pretty good at refreshing things. read more

I am so sad this is my local grocery store. I love to coupon and appreciate the free download able items, but the staff here are awful. I have not once been checking out without listening to gossip or the checkers yelling back and forth about who is on break. One time the checker and bagger were literally discussing how another employee should be fired. It was so unprofessional. The heavy female manager is the worst. She never greets anyone and is super unpleasent. The fresh deli counter has nice staff, but the wait can be 10 to 15 minutes. There are items that are consistently running out here too. The Organic Whole Milk and Yo Baby yogurts are often missing. I do like the produce section and they have a nice discount item area. read more

I do not know what is happening with this Ralph's Market on Ventura Blvd., in Encino. Several times I have found items, such as containers of Egg Beaters, and meat that have already passed their expired dates and are still on the shelves. I was in Ralphs on Saturday, and found containers of Egg Beaters that had the expired date of April 5, 2009. Saturdays date was April 18, 2009. The Ralphs on Burbank Blvd in Van Nuys is much better. I love this store! I've been coming here for 20 years, back before it was a Fresh Fare and it's always open! And clean! There's sometimes a wait for the deli, but for 89 cent cokes it's worth it! I also love that when things are on sale, they're cheaper than Target or Wal-Mart! Like $1 2-liters of soda or $3 bags of chips. The staff's always super nice too. read more

I will start with the good. I just recently moved to the LA area and Ralphs is my new local grocery store. I find the deli to be full of very accommodating staff and good food. They are always offering samples and making you feel as though you matter. However when it comes to the rest of the store I have been very dissatisfied with each visit. The customer service (minus the deli staff) is awful. I feel like I am hugely inconveniencing the staff if I ever need help finding a item, ask a question, etc.. The store is very cramped and I feel as though I am always in someones way. The produce here is usually bad or about to go bad. However I have found another Ralphs a few miles down that is better run and has better management and will continue to go to that one instead. read more

They have the exact brand of Dates that I want (I have checked numerous other Ralphs- even the other one on Ventura closer to Tarzana) for these specific Medjool dates and this is the only Ralphs that have it! This is a complain about unpleasant experience I had in Encino, California store with cashier Daniel C. This store is sloppy with the sales price tags, the check register service guy Daniel C was very rude: he was rolling eyes, arguing. When I ask to speak with manager, he announced that he is a manager, then another register guy came, without introducing himself, he said he is a manager too. Now they started to argue together against me instead of checking the price tag in the display. These two were exchanging ironic smiles and being real ignorant. Finally , I insisted to check display sales price the product was displayed- there was a sales price $0.99 was displayed, after looking for 5 min, Daniel finally found another price tag $4.99 down on face, somewhere in the floor. No apologies so ever, he continued to argue. Since I was resisting real strongly for all fairness, and our argument was getting a little bit louder, he decided to get the price adjusted, and then after doing so, he through on my face " are you happy now"? At that point, I could not take all that humiliation and embarrassment from him, I just returned the item and requested credit. Usually I don't shop in Ralphs, defiantly would not do it from now on. I did not think know that service is that bad. Save you money and great service- Trader Joes is in corner, where you may find far better deals with better quality. Wholefood stays in top with quality of product and services too. read more

They make you uncomfortable-those "Under Cover" whatever. I really hate this store. they all are morons. You always have to check the price-items on sales never comes up accurate-they want to rip you off. Ralph's for cheating its customers been cited many times, specially for sea food. read more

I recently relocated from New England. I had been shopping at Target prior to finding out about Ralph's, but this is a much higher quality and lower price grocery shopping. I have been to a couple Ralph's and this Encino branch is my favorite so far. Parking can be a little tough depending on the time of day, but I've always been able to find a spot. Make sure you test out your cart before coming inside, because a lot of them are broken. This Ralph's is the New England equivalent to an upscale Market Basket. The only thing I am still confused by is whether or not I am suppose to bag my own grocery's here..but the rewards program is great!! read more

I have been shopping at this ralphs since I moved to tarzana and I've always like the service from Mr. Luis Gaytan at the self check out. Unfortunately the last two times I went there my family felt super uncomfortable and it wasn't just about the bad customer service but also the fact that one of the employees there kept acting like we would steal something if she wasn't on top of what we where buying at the self check out its very disappointing to feel like a criminal and unfortunately this seems to be a common practice at some ralphs around this area they like to profile specially when you are a minority what a shame that no matter how hard you work some places first judge you by the color of your skin or your accent when you speak. I gave them 1 one star because of Mr. Gaytan good service the rest of the employees should learn from him how to treat and deal with customers unfortunately I will try not to go there unless I absolutely need to and I'll make sure the rest of my friends know not to go there until their attitude and employees are better train how to be more sensitive towards minorities. read more

Shopping at this same store for close to 10 years now as i live across the street I seen the remodel of the place and it looks well and all but the parking lot could use a little touch up on the walls facing the street that have been hit and the arrows should be re painted .Oh wait they do jack up the pricese on event things if its fathers day cakes hit 20$ for a thing that should sell for 9.99 and TOO MUCH ICEING!! read more
