I shop at this Ralphs store about once a week, maybe sometimes once very couple weeks. Generally, the employees/staff at this store are friendly and helpful, some even out-of-their-way friendly, which is nice. The store is also clean and organized overall. I would give this store a 4-star review if it weren't for one important thing: It's common for grocery stores to mark down prices on perishable items that are near the expiration or "best by" dates, and Ralphs is no exception. This is great and I often buy these items, since they're usually at a significant discount, so it's something like a treasure-hunt. Often you will find seafood items marked down when they're maybe 1 or 2 days before the expiration date. However, literally about 70 or 80% of the times I've purchased marked-down seafood at this location, they have been spoiled. It's everything from shrimp to salmon to cod to catfish to prepared seafood like ceviche. Now, you be thinking that seafood is generally considered very perishable, so it's more risky to buy almost-expired seafood, and that's true. You also may be asking, "Why do you keep buying marked down seafood from this store if this has been your experience?" And in a sense, that's a valid question. But the fact of the matter is, any grocery store selling food that isn't expired (even if it's near-expired) have the obligation to make sure that the food isn't spoiled, period (unless and until it's after the expiration or "best buy" date). This is something mandated and protected by rules and regulations set by government agencies such as the USDA, FDA, etc.. If any food sold at a store, including and especially seafood, is spoiled before the expiration date, it means that most likely the store didn't handle/store the seafood properly. So why do I keep buying marked-down, nearly-expired seafood at this store? Actually, I don't. I would still do so hesitantly from time to time, with more scrutiny of what seafood items I'm considering to buy, but I have generally been avoiding to buy marked-down seafood from this store, after several bad experiences of the food being spoiled, thereby wasting a decent amount of money and also ruining my my meal plans. But the real questions everyone should be asking is, "Why is this store consistently selling marked-down seafood that's spoiled, when it should be tossed out?" This issue speaks to bigger problems than just a handful of items being spoiled, and let me spell this out: 1) This is most likely due to improper handling and/or storage of their seafood (as mentioned earlier). 2) If they are mishandling their seafood, it means they're likely also mishandling other highly perishable items such as meats, poultry, dairy, eggs, and produce. 3) This also tells you that management and staff at this Ralphs store aren't properly trained and informed on proper handling and storage of perishable foods in general. 4) Lastly, this tells you that the management and staff at this store aren't very detailed in terms of checking if foods are spoiled when they're inspecting and marking them down, which means that they're also likely to not be very detailed in all sorts of other areas that require meticulous attention to detail. By the way, spoiled seafood is not only disgusting, but it can potentially cause severe food-born illness, so it's not something to be taken lightly. As I mentioned in the beginning of this review, I generally like the staff and shopping experience at this Ralphs store. It's unfortunate, however, that this big issue has to some extent ruined my overall opinion of this store and its management. My hope is that they would be better trained in food handling and storage, pay more attention to detail, and also be more careful and discriminating when marking down perishable grocery items, especially seafood. read more

I love this Ralph's! It's super convenient when charging our car at the lot next door! Not to mention, they are open sooo late!! I love that they have a party section where they fill up Baloons for you! I was in pretty late with baloons I had ordered online, and even though it was closed some one opened up the balloon station for me and filled them up! Super sweet! I am very appreciative, I also like shopping here for organic pre-baked chicken! They offer a "naked" unseasoned option which I usually have to go to wholefoods for! So this saves me the trip. Definitely a Great Ralph's. Clean, well organized...fresh..the look of the fruit and veggies perfect! The music sets a good Atmosphete here, great customer service. Floor employees always greet you.. certain ones can catch if you need help and definitely ask. They finally went to the self serve kiosk kind of machines and the cashiers still get a long line. The deli is great just not out there..I guess cause it's not a crowded Ralph's or it's just quiet but that makes your shipping experience great. Parking is enough ..just everyone looks for what's closer so they wont have to walk too much but still good. The whole plaza has other good stores around .. the seafood department and bakery are great just not out there..not hidden but they just dont stand out.. digital coupons rule! Typically, this Ralph's is perfectly fine. No complaints. However, just recently, they have added more self-checkouts and reduced customer service. Used to be if lines were long for regular check-out, but you had some alcoholic beverages in your order, you could go to self-checkout and the person working that area would ring up your alcohol for you. Recently, according to the older lady working the self-checkout area, only a "Manager" can ring up alcohol. The ONLY register open with a cashier had a huge line and customers with full carts. But she offered no assistance nor offer that she'd call a manager over. They will lose money on alcohol sales because of this. For me, I shop where the service and convenience are best. Today we came to Ralphs to look for a wine that me and my fiancée have been looking around for a weeks now and finally found it at Ralph's taking away some of the pressure of wedding planning. Unfortunately they didn't have all the full amount I needed but our cashier Erin was awesome. She took time to coordinate with store manager to see if we would be able to get another order of that particular wine and the amount. Which thankfully they were able to do. I never really write reviews but I witnessed something that infuriated me and compelled me write one. As I was near the produce section, the manager Beth walked by and began yelling at one of the employees that was stocking the potato section. She yelled at him across the room telling him there was something on the floor. Of course the leaves of an orange were not visible to that employee because he was an the next isle. As I was making my way towards the isle with the orange leaves on the floor, I picked them up myself. As a manager, one should never speak to their employers in that manner or to any other person for that matter. Instead of yelling across the room, she could have easily picked them up herself as she was walking by and was closer! read more

I've been coming to my neighborhood Ralph's for the past 20 years. I've never really had any problems at this location. The service here is great and I can always find what I'm looking for. Sure prices aren't a huge deal or discounted, but this place is close to home. It's also right off the 5 freeway for anyone that wants last minute items on their way home and don't want to be stuck in traffic. Everyone is always friendly at this location. The lines aren't always crazy busy and they usually have about 3 cash registers running. This store is always clean I've never seen it out of control or dirty. Don't forget to go to the back to find deals in their clearance section. I've found some pretty good stuff especially after a holiday they put some items up 75 % off. There's also 2 Redbox kiosks at this store in the front. They have a Coinstar here and every now and then you see people turning in their change. Parking is easy to find since there's such a big parking lot and it's in a shopping center. read more

Who ever is in charge of tying the strings to the Mothers Day balloons is terrible at their job. I came in to Ralphs to get a balloon for Mexican Mothers Day and got home with a piece of string and a clip. Mind you, this was their "home is where your mom is" balloon so it was $10.99 +tax. The balloon is already ridiculously overpriced and its not even securely attached to the string. Also, side note, the flower area is messy so make sure you don't get scammed by the disorganized signage. read more

Mark at the register was the only one working... idk if it's true but CA has a law preventing sale of alcohol at self checkout, I've never been told that before and then at that point the ONLY lane open has 30 people. Don't waste ur time to see if they will open another line they just stand around at self checkout doing nothing. VERY poor management here. I used to love coming here but it seems there is a lack of management in maintaining the products being sold there. I have seen mold on Turkey slices clearly shown on it. I've purchased avocados and almost all were bad as I opened them up.. I am losing money here and most importantly my time. The produce is a problem as most are close to expiration and already expired on the floor. Is it really that hard to ask for fresh products? My visits used to be every other day to make sure I get the freshest products but even still I seem to get sold old nearly expiring products. I go to Ralphs to grab certain items when they go on sale, its not a cheap store. This is Ralphs is everything you need in a ralphs, big savings on certain items during coupon days or club card days. The place looks clean, items are neat and organized. The cashiers are usually freindly and competent. They have a cool place to get grinded coffee and a deli area with meats, bread, deserts and cooked food such as fried chicken. I use to frequent this place daily. I work nights. I called today only to find out they are now closing at 8:00 pm- not posted on website! I called because I need simple groceries, and to do some shopping for elderly friends who are scared to death to go in and have to be around frenzied shoppers. The woman was so rude-pretty much said, too bad for you why don't you starve along with your elderly friends. Would not help at all-hung up on me! Contacting corporate on Monday. Came in to do some light shopping. When walking by the seafood case, my daughter fell and hurt her ankle. She tripped on the lumpy, deteriorating floor. I asked for the manager and he said "oh, sorry. We have having a remodel done next month so it will be taken care of then." This review is mainly for the bakery dept. But also for the stores customer service. I came here to order my son's birthday cake. I was told by the clerk in the bakery dept. ( Dasia) that I can put any image on the cake, I would just need to bring in a picture and they would be able to scan the image and print it out on an edible sheet that would be placed on cake. Great! So I went to Staples and brought back the photo to Dasia. The picture was printed on a normal 8×10 paper and the image took up almost the whole page. When I went to pick up the cake I was completely disappointed. The image looked bad. It had an ugly glare over it. Not only was it crooked, but it had a weird pinkish color (that was not on the original image) around it. But the worst part was that the image was so much smaller, less than the size of a 4x6 photo, awkwardly placed on the cake. Their excuse was that Dasia was the "new girl" so she didn't know that they usually recommend the customer go to another bakery to get the image printed on an edible sheet. I still don't even know if their printer is able to print bigger images or wtf? They did not try to fix the problem at all or even reprint image, which would have taken minutes to do. They said the best they could do was knock off $10 of the original $40 price. After speaking with the supervisor, who seemed rather unapologetic, I got another mere $10 knocked off again. So I paid $23.99 for the saddest, ugliest cake ever for my 7 year old boy. The cake tasted okay but the customer service I received is the reason I will not be returning to this establishment. read more

This is my go to grocery store. Been coming here since I was a little kid. Always familiar faces around which is nice. They remodeled about a year and a half ago. It is more busy now that it was re modeled but not nearly as busy as stater bros... Came here recently around graduation time. My mom was buying a lei for my niece graduating and the lady in the floral department started screaming to pick it up a certain way. Ummm we hadn't even gone towards grabbing the lei. Chill out lady. My mom ended up buying two and she insisted we buy them there in the department because we were going to ruin them before the graduate got them. Sweet but we are buying them if you don't want people to buy them or touch them then buy them all yourself and take them home lady lol turns out my sister had been in here earlier and same thing happened to her! She almost put the Lei back the way the lady was yelling. Overall clean store. Nice employees. Except for the shorter dark haired lady in floral STEER CLEAR! read more
