This is my local Ralph's. I have gone here for many different items and never was I ever denied the chance to purchase something until today. I decided to go for Valentine's Day and purchase flowers and balloons. I know the flowers and balloons are typically more expensive but I was OK with it. I waited in line got to the front and asked to buy a specific balloon. As I was being rung up Marybeth, an older lady with a thick accent, told the cashier the balloon was was already purchased. I thought to myself no big deal until I was walking away. the person behind me said he wanted the balloon. The older lady with the accent sold it to him even though he was behind me. This is not a big deal but since Ive been a loyal customer to the point I know the staff it left a very bad impression. Anywhere I go I simply ask for fairness I do not see myself going back to Ralphs anymore. I do not take discrimination nor disrespect lightly. The only reason I may go back today is to get a refund on the flowers and balloons. read more

They do it to me no matter what. Than the security will record you the plan they do is they block the exits secretly by staff holding a walkie talkie and security pretending to not block the front door. Ok so I called Ralphs yesterday 8/3 around 7:45pm and asked if money orders were sold there. A manager says yes! I arrived at 7:55 the manager says u have cash right? Umm no I do not I wasn't aware that u only accept cash. Mind u Albertsons and Walmart does except cards so it didn't dawn on me to even ask her. So then I'm searching around and she sees me looking for a ATM. I ask is there an ATM she points to one literally right next to me!! She proceeds to say u need to hurry it closes at 8. At this point I'm not only trynna rack my brain and hurry the transactions up but I'm pissed because this could've been prevented if she would've told me over the phone that cash was only accepted!! I say this because no one goes above and beyond for the customers anymore.... She clearly knew only one type of payment was accepted why couldn't she just went above and beyond to say those simple words. read more

I do not like this store and only come when desperate. There's no fresh meat and seafood section. The best part is their produce.

So i was in there August 18 2023 (today) around 8:30ish with my fiance and son shopping and realizing we needed to get a basket for the items we grabbed. I walked towards the door to grab one and as i was doing so, your lovely hero of a rent-a-cop decided it was a great idea to ready his hand on his holster like he was itching for me to do something. He followed me outside the store and watched me grab my basket and proceeded to watch me as i walked back in and past him. That made me extremely nervous and someone like that shouldnt be working security or even have a firearm for that matter. Dude was in there acting like he was big and bad trying to catch thieves at a Ralphs. Last time i checked, the law for theft nowadays explains anything under $950 is misdemeanor. Meaning, if someone steals $949 worth of merch, they will be out the next day. Just gnna leave that there. I say all that to say security is supposed to make you feel safe not fear your about to get canned over nothing. Please reevaluate him being in there. I was in self checkout December 20 at 10:20pm. Gabby the customer service cashier had her back to the self check out machines most of the time talking and giggling with the security guard. I had to wait till she was finished to get some bags. I asked her twice as I was ringing up my items and she was rationing the bags. So when I finished and checked out I noticed I was still short bags. Her back was turnt again and she was talking and giggling. I again waited till she was finished and asked for more bags. She gave me one bag and told me I needed to add it into the system when checking out. I told her I get them free and she didn't give me enough initially. She said with an attitude yeah but you still have to log them. She was being lazy and could have logged them as I was standing there asking for them. When I walked up next to her I got a whiff of an unpleasant smell. It smelled as if she hadn't showered. I assume when working around food hygiene is required and friendly customer service is a must. Ralph's you gotta do better. Before walking out I looked at her name tag and she noticed me looking. She said to me "My name is Gabby". I said nothing and walked out. I know the stores are desperate for staff but some people just don't need to work with people. read more

HORRIBLE customer service! The manager Ricardo is rude and apparently illiterate as well. I bought 3 bottles which the sign said "mix and match" buy 3. I bought 2 Jameson and a jack. He didn't give me the discount. He said I had to buy 3 of the same. No both bottles had the sign. How is 3 bottles of Jameson mixing?? So he said the sign was wrong! Well you guys put the sign up so that's the advertised price. So I asked for a refund and walked out! I usually like Ralph's. I always find what I need and I love that their store is always clean and their carts are clean and well taken care of (I have kiddos). This Ralph's, however, needs to have a customer service training for their employees. I was given a Ralph's gift card and decided to stop by and use it for diapers and some groceries. As I was paying, the cashier (a young girl, maybe late teens or early 20s) asked me for my Ralph's rewards #. I told her I wasn't signed up and that I didn't have a phone # to give her. To that, she answered with a nasty lil' attitude, "Well It's not like you even shop here anyway, I can tell". UHM, excuse me? What did you just say? What in the world is that supposed to mean? How can you tell? Because I paid with a gift card? I wanted to say something back, so damn bad... But since I was with my little sister and my kids I did not make it a big deal. I did, however, leave extremely pissed off. To my knowledge, gift cards are given to people so that they can use them. Not so that some little snobby girl can judge you because you paid your groceries with it. Please, Ralph's, train your employees better so that they have a more general sense of using good customer service skills. Teach them a little bit of empathy too. This review if for Rosa in the bakery department. SHE IS AMAZING! I work in customer service and I can spot when someone goes the extra step. I called her in the morning on a Friday for 74 cup cakes that I needed that afternoon. I expected to just buy whatever they had on hand and this is the reason that I called. I'm so lucky that Rosa answered the phone- she told me not to worry that she would make me some fresh for me. What!? Who now a days offers to do more work!? When I got there, she had the cupcakes in a grocery basket ready to go. I was floored by the gesture. The cup cakes were also good and the kids loved them. My daughter was happy and so was I. Somebody give this associate a raise and a pat on the back she is great! read more

We just bought a home in Carson and this is our local Ralph's. I was disappointed in the lack of courtesy when I shopped there last night around 8:00 p.m. I spied the manager at the front desk and walked over to comment on the rudeness of the cashier. The manager was working over a list of items and entering on a calculator so I said "Good evening" and waited. He looked up and said "What do you need." I was taken aback. I guess if the leadership is unfriendly and ill-mannered why would the staff be any different. I made a point of saying so. He was annoyed and started to explain how busy he was and I pointed out that it amounted to explaining why it was OK to be unprofessional and unfriendly. He responded with "I'm asking what do you need." At that point I realized he was combative and I had enough and said "It's not important because it won't matter to you anyway, good night." He did follow me and offered to refund the cost if one item to give the store another chance. I thanked him and declined. Why would I bother? There are other stores I can shop at on my way home. I just would prefer to support my community by keeping my business locally. The flip side is that they have to work to keep it by making me feel appreciated and welcomed. read more

I can honestly say I have never had such a pleasant experience going to a grocery store before...but here I am, sitting in the parking lot, writing this review! I didn't want to wait to get home because this story deserves to be told. I came in to take advantage of a sale that, unbeknownst to me, expired last week. Jessica was working the self-checkout section. I had a little trouble entering my Alt ID number and she came over to help. She double checked to make sure I got the online coupon discount I had come in specifically for. It didn't take! I showed her the ad and that's when I found out it was a week old. She offered to honor the ad anyway! The whole time, she was chipper and friendly and a REALLY good representative for the company. However, today I came across an ill mannered cashier! I politely greeted him with a "Hello." He did not respond. Idk what is going on at this Ralph's, especially later at night. A cashier opened a register and just stared at the cashier at the next checkout, who was closed. I said, "Are you open?" She completely 100% ignored me. I kind of couldn't believe it. I decided to try one more time. "Excuse me, are you open?" I asked again, louder. She continued to blatantly ignore me, then started a conversation with the other cashier. Neither of them acknowledged me even though there's no way they didn't see or hear me. My husband was about to go off on these rude "workers" but I told him let's just use the Self-checkout. They're almost never polite or courteous to customers here, and most of the time they don't say hello or acknowledge the customers. Usually they just put your stuff through while having a conversation with another cashier and completely ignore you while you're checking out, including if you greet them. They act like it's still segregation times, and the customers are the minority while they are the supremacists. Rarely will they acknowledge you at all. But this is the first time I was completely ignored. The management apparently doesn't care. I didn't get the name of the rude cashiers but they were the ones on duty last night, March 4, 2020. From these reviews I bet it was Naheed. She did reprehensible actions and had an attitude that would get her fired anywhere else, but after an unbelievable experience someone had in September 2019, she was still working there a month later because someone else complained about her horrible attitude in October 2019, even though the CEO themselves apologized to the customer. Words apparently don't mean much, and actions show they approve of and endorse and reward such behavior. Awful. I avoid this Ralph's at all costs. Only go if you like being treated like absolute garbage for giving your business to them and ungrateful rudeness and unprofessionalism in return for putting food on their table with your hard earned money. read more

Just when you lose faith is customer service, someone else comes to the rescue. I was pretty upset after placing an order on their website for my son's birthday cake. I called to confirm my order and I find out that the specific cake I ordered was not available. How long until they call me to tell me that?? It's 9am and I'm picking up the cake at 1pm! They don't even know what kind of cake it is? Are you kidding me? Then why advertise it. Anyway, truth is, the cake was the least of my concerns, I just needed a simple cake with specific colors. I don't know the name of the lady that works in the bakery department but she knows who she is. Terrible customer service. I'm in the service industry and if ever I disregarded a situation like she did no matter how minor, I'd be talked to by my superiors. At the end of the day, doesn't matter what you have available or not, if I have a confirmation of any kind - especially on paper - I'm in the right because I have proof. When I called to confirm she didn't even know what kind of cake it was. I asked if I can email her the picture on the website and she said she didn't have an email (but and email print out was taped on the top of the box when I picked up the cake! No email? Yeah, right!). She gave me reasons why this wasn't going to happen, she had been off, she just got there, she doesn't know... blah blah blah. At this point, none of that matters. I have a confirmation and you need to make something happen. I would have been forgiving, because again, I'm in the customer service business, but after her million excuses she finally says next time you order a cake do it one week in advance. Umm.. are you kidding me? Never again. If ever again, I'll be sure to pay $100 for a cake elsewhere, at least then I'll know what kind of service I'll be paying for and I'll know what kind of experience it will be. Point is, this lady was rude and zero customer service. By the way, the cake looked nothing (NOTHING) like it was supposed to. But again, that was the least of my concerns. Now, for my favorite part of this experience... I never use self check-outs even if they are wide open, I'm completely against it because I believe in people interactions. So I proceeded to the first available cashier and as I went to pay, the nice lovely cashier asked me if she had a birthday person in her line, and I said yes pointing at my son standing behind me. She got on the intercom and wished my son a happy birthday and other cashiers chimed in and did the same. Another employee even got on the intercom and slightly sang a couple lines. That did in fact made me less upset about the rude bakery lady. Some people need to be retrained in customer service and some service recovery training is also a good investment. I called the store before going in to ensure that they had the brand and amount I needed with my checks and after being on hold for about 8 or 9 minutes the woman re-answered the phone as if I was a new customer..then cut me off to say ohh yeah the formula we have 4 of them. OK fine thanks right. Well I go in and they don't. After already being embarrassed holding up the line, customers getting antsy and passively rude..I took the two they had and left. The cashier was nice. The attendant who brought the formula was also but the lack of either knowledge and poor phone service made an already unnerving experience every mother fears on wic a really just plain bad one. I should not feel like crap for buying food for my son or like I am a bother for simply trying to cover my grounds to ensure it isn't a bad experience for myself or anyone else. read more

This Ralph's location is great! I've been here multiple times over the years, and they do a pretty great job here. This Ralph's does have a private lot to park in, so you never have to worry about finding a parking spot. Upon entrance, there is an abundant amount of space to walk around or maneuver around a cart. The venue is clean and has large aisles for easy access to products. Visual aid signs are large and very readable from a distance. There are usually a good amount of staff members working allowing you to ask them where certain products are found. The staff is very kind and courteous and everyone looks happy to be here. During this visit, the checkout process was very quick and the cashier was very personable. There was a bag person to bag all my purchased items which was very helpful. Overall a great Ralph's location with a great staff! Will be back in the future! read more

The only two non_Latino employees were in the deli and bakery sections. I refuse to patronize this store until your hiring represents the the demographics of Carson. By far the worse Ralphs Ive been too. Was overcharged on two items when I asked an associate for help they directed me to the manager Ricardo. One word, RUDE! When I told him about the overhcarge and was showing him the receipt he snatched it fom my hand and said to walk him over to the items. I walked him over to one and he said I didn't read the sign correctly and my item didn't belong there when clearly the whole shelf was stocked. Walked him over to next item where he told me I had to read the barcodes and macth them to know the price. Having worked retail for many years I would never tell customers to match the barcode. It is an employees job to market correctly and make sure the signs correspond to the items. He ended up giving me the difference in the most rude manner ad practically threw my money at me. read more

An up and coming Ralphs store. Perhaps the last store to be remodeled and updated in the entire nation!! Really, this place was lacking for a while. Everything looked old and beat up. Now, the store is being re-modeled and re-arranged. The produce department has new floors. Now the entire store is getting new flooring. This Ralphs now carries more products than it did before. Produce department is usually pretty good quality. Meat department is often out of certain popular cuts of steak and chicken parts. For some reason they never have party wings when I go. I love making wings. Sometimes I find good deals in the 75% off freezer section, and the old stock area in the back of the store by the milk. This area usually has products that are clearance because it is not being manufactured anymore or has old packaging, or just didn't sell well. Overall a good store, friendly cashiers and stock persons. read more
