A guy from the shop asked me did you just have your transmission fluid changed? I replied no. He said it was the cleanest he had ever seen. That's because there was none in it. My transmission went out. My mechanic said no fluid wrecked it. I contacted Scott the owner he blamed my van? So I leased a truck and went to a koo. My customer asked where's your van I told him what happened. He said I brought my truck there they didn't put oil in it and my motor went out. Snappy Lube had to replace it. So I thought I would take them to court. Then I read someone else did and Scott got on a payment plan? That customer said it took forever to get paid back. All said Scott cost me $2,500 to bring it to Snappy Lube for an oil change. Don't be fooled on his website as well look for lowest ratings he has a lot of them folks.

Valvoline's negligence destroyed my transmission…read more They put the wrong amount of transmission fluid in my vehicle. It's clearly documented on their own invoice. As a result, I had to replace the entire transmission. My insurance, who almost never covers damage caused by auto shop errors, immediately sided with me. That's how obvious Valvoline's mistake was. That's how inept Valvoline is. Insurance covered the replacement, but I'm still out my deductible and rental costs. Valvoline refuses to reimburse. Valvoline also failed to follow proper procedure for performing a transmission fluid change, which directly contributed to the damage. Every shop makes mistakes but ethical businesses take accountability and make it right. Valvoline chose denial, dishonesty, and deflection instead. To make matters worse, the Valvoline manager went to the repair shop where my vehicle was being serviced and attempted to coerce the staff into letting him drain and take the transmission fluid all without my knowledge or consent. The shop refused. Was he trying to destroy evidence? I won't speculate. Read the reviews on Google, Yelp, and the BBB. This isn't an isolated incident. Time and time again, Valvoline damages vehicles and refuses to take responsibility. Quick and cheap can cost you your entire vehicle. Don't make the same mistake I did.

The diagnostic did not cover some key tests I expected as part of a standard diagnostic. They failed to do a full scan of all systems and failed to check previous codes that were causing problems as well. When I asked about further testing, they wanted to charge me extra. I ended up taking my car back without getting any repairs done. I feel like I didn't get the full picture of what was going on with my car. Once it was finally complete, it broke before I even got home. They had to fix it again. After that, I immediately had an oil leak and had to have that fixed. Next visit, they said I had another oil leak but I had already paid over $5000 to them for the other repairs and could not afford it at that time. I then started to have a large pool of oil on my garage floor so I had to borrow money to get the second oil leak fixed. When I bought it in, they said they couldn't find a leak and argued with me because I was somehow stupid for thinking a large pool of oil on my garage floor would be from a leak and they had already told me on a previous visit there in fact was a leak. Brought it back a week later and then they said there in fact was a leak. More money for those visits. I spent over $3000 to have oil leaks fixed which I am pretty sure were related to their terrible work on the timing chain. I no longer go there after years of service. They said, "NO".... it's amazing that Granite City tire and auto is NOT willing to take even $50 off a bill in order To be competitive in the area... Between my uncle and I, we have visited Motor Works with our vehicles 5-6 times within the past few…read moremonths due to various reasons like oil changes, new tires, checking and re-checking for a potential oil leak, and fixing a door handle. We primarily work with 2 employees here - Gus and Mitch. Both great guys who've answered all of our questions and met our service needs. Prior to becoming regular customers at Motor Works, we were loyal customers to a different shop in town for 10+ years. They had some staffing changes and their repairmen became careless, so we decided to switch it up to a place that's much closer to home with staff who seem passionate about their jobs. Pricing on services are generally reasonable and it can take a few days for parts to arrive. We usually ask for a free shuttle ride home if the service is predicted to take longer, but for oil changes, we stay at Motor Works and wait the 30min to an 1 hour time frame. I will say the one frustration we've had is when calling for a shuttle ride back to Motor Works to pick up our vehicle. There was an occasion where we waited for over an hour after being told there was a car "on the way" and we live close by, so there must've been some miscommunication amongst the staff there and it getting pretty busy toward the end-of-day. We were understanding about it however, I'd recommend calling back to clarify if a ride is in fact coming if you plan to use the shuttle service. Expect that you may have other customers in the car with you too and may not be their first stop, so be patient if that does happen. There's a Keurig for coffee and water bottles if you do have a long wait. Their wifi's a bit hit or miss, but not so bad that I've had to bring it up to staff members. They also no longer take checks - only cash or card, so be mindful of that before bringing your car in to Motor Works.
