Four days before my friend's appointment we came in for a starter estimate. Joe at the front desk told us there would not be a charge for an inspection. The printed estimate listed a few items like brake pads but no inspection fee. When my friend's car was towed in she asked them to check the starter, brake pads, and a couple smaller items. Later she got a call saying it was not the starter but the battery. She agreed to replace the battery parts and labor only. She was never asked to approve any inspection fees. When we came to pick up the car there were two inspection charges added, one for $9.99 and one for about $40. My friend reminded Joe he had said there would be no charge. I confirmed I had heard him say this. Instead of simply addressing it, Joe said things like "you guys are looking for free stuff," cut my friend off several times by putting his hand in the air, and even took a phone call while speaking with us. He removed the charges only after we pressed him. When we came back later because my friend had dropped her chapstick, Joe looked at us and said to another employee, "They're probably here to say something's wrong," while staring. We had not even spoken yet. We are two Black women in St. Cloud and the way we were treated was mean, dismissive, and unprofessional. This is not about wanting something for free. It is about being charged only for what was agreed to and being treated with basic respect. I hope management addresses this so no one else has to experience it. read more

we did not know what was wrong with our vehicle only that it sounded really bad. we had it towed to Tires Plus. We knew that car was older and that we did not want to put a lot of money into it to fix it. We received a call and they told us that the cost would be around $1,100 so we decided to go ahead and fix it. We went to pick it up and they did not fix the issue!!! instead they told us it would need to be fixed by the dealership but charged us $900 for what ever they did. WE DID NOT WANT TO PUT MONEY INTO THIS VEHICLE!! now we are down $900 and have to go to a dealership to put money into whatever they will do. YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD US YOU CAN'T FIX THE WHOLE THING! we wouldn't have worked on the car at all! Tires Plus CANNOT be trusted! read more

Been going to tires plus for my whole life and I have never had ANY problems. I started to go to the one in St.cloud and it never felt like my issues were being resolved and I kept leaving with new problems. It started with my beater took it in for an oil change and tire pressure and they told me one of the sensors was put so they fixed it. Fine. Not even a week later the light came back on I drove it back and they told me that the other 3 tps sensors had gone out. Little suspicious but whatever it is an old car. It ended up developing a parasitic drain from an unknown source so I purchased a newer used car. Left the dealer in great condition but it doesn't like the Minnesota winters. I took my car in to check the batteries and they told me everything was fine and said I would need to maybe charge the battery and that it could not be done by driving I would need to purchase a battery charger. I didn't because I am a college student and those are expensive so I left with them having done absolutely nothing. Not a week later my car died again and I couldn't get jt started. Towed it in to TP and they charge it and tell me it's fine again. I complained and suddenly they were willing to help me. My car hasn't done anything since but it nothing was ever fixed they just charged the battery there like they should have done to begin with. They also had to talk down to me and explain that the battery charger is the alternator and that I already have one and it charges the car by driving. I know what an alternator is and does, but they very plainly told me in the beginning, I needed to buy a battery charger because it would not work just driving. These were not my only problems I had several more but they just seem very ingenuous compared to every other tires plus I've been to. They definitely treated me like I didn't know what I was talking about because I am a woman even after my complaints to them it was me not understanding them. I think I understood the issue pretty clearly... will not be going there again, hesitant now to continue using any tires plus stores at all. Amazing work! Everytime I come bring my car in they always take care of my car and never overprice me. If my car is being weird they make sure to check everything out and tell me what is wrong with it even if I didn't ask them to it's so thoughtful, so everyone else thats complains can go somewhere else or suck it up since they only have 6-8 guy working at a time! read more

Years ago, I didn't care for Tires Plus because I always felt like they were upselling me, and telling me I needed things that I didn't need. I've been very pleased with the service I've received from this Tires Plus. On numerous occasions I've had to bring my vehicle there simply because my low tire pressure indicator light kept going off. No problem. Pull it up outside of door #2 and they'll check the pressure and fill the tires. No questions asked! How great is that? I recently purchased a set of tires for my sedan and the process went well. It took a bit longer than I had hoped, but all went well. This has been my experience in recent years and it keeps me coming back. They do have free wi-fi, and it's also close to a lot of retailers and restaurants so that you have something to do while you wait. read more

He also told me some weird, trivial knowledge about gmail addresses that I didn't give 2 shits about. I have only had great experiences with Tires Plus. They have never tried to upsell me anything. In fact when I come in and am stupid enough to say, I think I need a new battery, they have come back to me and explained, why I didn't need one. This has happened several times. I had a 12:00 appointment and was here at 11:30 for all four tires to be changed and an oil change. At 12:40 they finally took my car in. They tried three times to get me to do other services and spend more money and tried to charge me $40 more than my original "out the door" quote. Waiting area offered only a drinking fountain and small tv they kept muted, magazines all outdated. I would not recommend this place to anyone! read more

I have been using Tires Plus as my go-to place for quick and thorough oil changes and repairs for over 10 years now. I've always felt like their customer service was awesome and they did a great job taking my care of my car. This was true until I moved to St. Cloud and started using this Tires Plus. I have come to the point where I dread getting an oil change because it takes forever and it's always something different when I go. I've lost trust with them after they told me everything looked great after an inspection, only to find my brakes were failing soon after. They recently quoted me on a repair that I thought was outrageous, so I went to the place next door and they quoted me almost half. The best part is when I informed them I would be checking at other places they said they would "knock off" $200. The waiting area is gross and uncomfortable. Don't even enter the bathroom unless you want to see how bad their aim has been for probably since the place opened. I'm done going to this Tires Plus. read more

If I could rate them a zero I would. I own a small business and I have 4 vans that I use to take to Tires Plus for all of my tire needs. They have lost 100% of my business now. I took one of my vans in and I asked them to bleed the brake lines because I replaced the master cylinder but didn't have the time to bleed the lines. One of their technicians broke the bleeder screw off of one of the calipers and didn't take responsibility for it. I didn't notice the bleeder screw was broke off until got the van home and looked at it. I even took a picture of it showing it was a fresh break. I called and talked to Carl the store manager about it the next day and he out right blamed me for it and told me that the only reason I brought my van to them is because I knew the bleeder screw was broke. If that was the case why didn't they tell me it was broke when they had the van up in the air bleeding the system? Also if that was the case why didn't they tell me they couldn't bleed that caliper because the bleeder was broke? It just shows you how poorly managed the store is if they can't take responsibility for their screw ups. I understand that mistakes happen and if they were upfront with me about this and took responsibility for it instead of blaming me I would still be a happy customer of theirs. I ended up calling the 800 number and filing a complaint against the store and they did end up putting a new caliper on for me. When I went back to Tires Plus Carl was working and instead of trying to save a customer or apologizing for his actions he intentionally avoided me. When I walked into the store I was the next customer to be helped and he put his safety glasses on and walked in the back. When the service writer tried to page him he would not come to the front to talk to me. In my opinion Carl has very poor customer service skills. If customer service is important to you there are other tire shops in the area with competitive prices and and better customer service. read more

If I could rate them a zero I would because they will never get my business again. Last year I brought my car in to have my summer tires put on. They told me it would be 45 minutes. 2 hours later they finially finished my car. That's not what pissed my off. About a month later I noticed my tire pressure monitoring system wasn't working right and my tires wouldn't hold air for more than a week. After trying to recalibrate the TPMS I noticed that one of my tires just wouldn't calibrate and I knew they did a bad job sealing my tires. I didn't have time to get the car back in until next year after I took it out of storage and I wasn't going to waste my time there so they can do a bad job again. So I took it to heartland tire. They tell me that the reason 2 of my tires were leaking bad was because they never installed one of the seals in the valve stem. the reason my one TPMS wouldn't work was because it was never reinstalled after tires plus put the tire back on and to top it all off they didn't balance my back right tire properly and it developed some bad cuping. After being a customer of Tires Plus for nearly ten years, my boyfriend purchased a Mazda 6 in June, had tires put on in September (at Tires Plus), drove the car for 7,000 miles and the tires went bald. When he called Tires Plus to notify them of the bald tires, they responded promptly with a "We will take care of it", well as a matter of fact, they did not take care of ANYTHING, he brought the car in the next morning, was called hours later and told that Tires Plus would not back up their warranty due to "bad allignment", if allignment was so bad on his vehicle would they not have noticed that at the time of putting tires on? and if the allignment is so bad as to make tires bald after 7000 miles, would the car drive as straight as an arrow??? WEIRD, that the tires had a 70,000 mile warranty yet Tires Plus wouldnt warranty them after 7,000. NEVER GOING BACK THERE AGAIN! read more

I brought my Ford Expedition in on a Saturday afternoon without an appointment and they were able to squeeze it in, even with a seemingly full schedule. I was pleased at this point. Though, this is where my elation ended... I was inquiring about a power steering pump that was squeaking. They informed me they could do the work and have it completed in a "couple of hours". By six o'clock Saturday evening, I was told that they didn't have the correct part to complete the work and that they didn't have the correct tool, (power steering pulley puller). They asked if they could keep it over night and finish reinstalling the PSP on Sunday morning. I, of course, had no option due to the fact my vehicle was still taken apart. I called the nearest auto parts store to tires plus. To my amazement, they not only carried the tool, but had loaners on hand if needed. So, they lied to me and told me that they had looked at local parts stores and that tool was unattainable.. Sunday morning at approx. 10:00 I called for an update on my vehicle and they STILL hadn't put it back together.. Fast forward to 3:30 pm I was finally told it was ready to be picked up. When I picked it up I noticed that the power steering reservoir was GROSSLY overfilled. I notified the shop and they had someone come out with a Styrofoam cup to drain a bit, as well as spill into my engine bay. I left a bit upset only to make it a block and my traction control was not functioning. I returned and had a computer diagnostic done and reset the fault. It is still not functioning properly, but I will take it to a mechanic that is competent, and has an understanding of quality control. I have never in my life seen such a lack of professionalism or pride in work, as I have here at this tires plus. So, all in all, I had my vehicle in their shop for about 27 hours and got it back in worse shape than when I dropped it off. I hope this helps someone out there save the headache for themselves, that I endured. read more
