A guy from the shop asked me did you just have your transmission fluid changed? I replied no. He said it was the cleanest he had ever seen. That's because there was none in it. My transmission went out. My mechanic said no fluid wrecked it. I contacted Scott the owner he blamed my van? So I leased a truck and went to a koo. My customer asked where's your van I told him what happened. He said I brought my truck there they didn't put oil in it and my motor went out. Snappy Lube had to replace it. So I thought I would take them to court. Then I read someone else did and Scott got on a payment plan? That customer said it took forever to get paid back. All said Scott cost me $2,500 to bring it to Snappy Lube for an oil change. Don't be fooled on his website as well look for lowest ratings he has a lot of them folks.

The diagnostic did not cover some key tests I expected as part of a standard diagnostic. They failed to do a full scan of all systems and failed to check previous codes that were causing problems as well. When I asked about further testing, they wanted to charge me extra. I ended up taking my car back without getting any repairs done. I feel like I didn't get the full picture of what was going on with my car. Also seems like they upcharge significantly on basic parts compared to other shops. Would not recommend.

Once it was finally complete, it broke before I even got home. They had to fix it again. After that, I immediately had an oil leak and had to have that fixed. Next visit, they said I had another oil leak but I had already paid over $5000 to them for the other repairs and could not afford it at that time. I then started to have a large pool of oil on my garage floor so I had to borrow money to get the second oil leak fixed. When I bought it in, they said they couldn't find a leak and argued with me because I was somehow stupid for thinking a large pool of oil on my garage floor would be from a leak and they had already told me on a previous visit there in fact was a leak. Brought it back a week later and then they said there in fact was a leak. More money for those visits. I spent over $3000 to have oil leaks fixed which I am pretty sure were related to their terrible work on the timing chain. I no longer go there after years of service. Called FRIEDRICH's AUTO, Rice MN and was quoted nearly $200 CHEAPER... when I asked Granite City Tire and Auto if they could reduce the price a little just to make it comparable... They said, "NO".... it's amazing that Granite City tire and auto is NOT willing to take even $50 off a bill in order To be competitive in the area... Can tell you that they have lost a customer for LIFE! And I will NEVER refer anyone to this establishment again. Lesson learned, shop around, and be careful of reviews placed by their own employees to make them seem better than they actually are. Overpriced! You've been warned!!!

The printed estimate listed a few items like brake pads but no inspection fee. When my friend's car was towed in she asked them to check the starter, brake pads, and a couple smaller items. Later she got a call saying it was not the starter but the battery. She agreed to replace the battery parts and labor only. She was never asked to approve any inspection fees. When we came to pick up the car there were two inspection charges added, one for $9.99 and one for about $40. My friend reminded Joe he had said there would be no charge. I confirmed I had heard him say this. Instead of simply addressing it, Joe said things like "you guys are looking for free stuff," cut my friend off several times by putting his hand in the air, and even took a phone call while speaking with us. He removed the charges only after we pressed him. When we came back later because my friend had dropped her chapstick, Joe looked at us and said to another employee, "They're probably here to say something's wrong," while staring. We had not even spoken yet. We are two Black women in St. Cloud and the way we were treated was mean, dismissive, and unprofessional. This is not about wanting something for free. It is about being charged only for what was agreed to and being treated with basic respect. I hope management addresses this so no one else has to experience it.

Randomly I brought my car to Shane on a whim to see if he could patch a tire for me. 10 mins later he sent me on my way and I've been going back to him ever since. In those 10 mins it was obvious that Shane was an honest good mechanic who wasn't trying to nickel and dime me. Any time Shane has looked at my vehicle he comes back talks to me, lets me know what's going on and gives me every option available. It's never a high pressure situation and he is always transparent.
