When I arrived, she wasn't there and never showed up that day. I ended up working with Janny. While polite on the surface, he spent much of the time on his phone. After test driving one vehicle, I realized the seats were not adjustable, and found another with upgraded seats. When pricing was presented, he had added about $3,000 in "upgrades" (windshield protection, etc.) on a 2024 vehicle and presented them as if they were standard. I had to firmly decline multiple times. There was also a discrepancy between the Blue Book value I found and the one they showed me. I was told theirs was "subscription level" and more accurate than the public version. I still suspect I overpaid, but by that point I felt worn down. During negotiations, I worked with Cody. The numbers were inconsistent and I felt pressured, but still elected to go forward with my purchase. When I said I was leaving to get food and contact my bank, he pushed me to stay, when I insisted I needed to go eat, he suggested I go get two beers -- which felt completely inappropriate during a financial negotiation. After I returned, while finalizing paperwork, I met with a different employee who was openly rude, repeatedly making negative comments about Seattle and Washington, despite my repeating to him that I loved SEATTLE. He then presented paperwork stating the vehicle had no remaining warranty, despite the salesman earlier sharing Carfax showing manufacturer warranty coverage. When I questioned it, he raised his voice and told me I could leave if I didn't like it. I stepped away and told Cody that the other employee was treating me disrespectfully. I received a brief quote sorry to hear that" as a response. Then called the dealer and confirmed directly that the warranty was still active -- yet I was required to sign paperwork stating otherwise. This was followed by an effort to get me to purchase an extended warranty for several thousand dollars, which I understand is standard, and I just sat through it. After purchasing the car, I discovered there was no backup key inside the fob case. I've followed up multiple times and have received no response. I filed a BBB complaint a month ago which was closed with no response from Cortes. I have one fob with no backup key at this point. I will have to go to the Mazda dealer service department and pay quite a bit to get this remedied. Overall, my experience felt high-pressure, misleading, and unprofessional. I was referred by BECU and had high hopes but at this point will be reporting back to them my concerns. I would strongly encourage others to proceed with caution.

Well, perhaps he doesn't care to keep up that reputation. These are the pure facts-I have all of the invoices and quotes in hand. Before I bought it, over the phone the owner said the A/C was working. Not true. A/C was not working-blowing hot air when it arrived and the compressor belt was seizing up. Put in new compressor-$700. Now just barely working but essentially useless. My mechanic says the only way to get it working is to purchase an aftermarket full AC kit-parts/labor-$2500. When I called him about this he gave the lame excuse that AC is not really used much in the Pacific NW-I know-I lived in Portland OR for 12 years but this excuse is just a red herring. The battery was rated for up to 7 years-when the car arrived date on it confirmed it was 7.5 years old. It died within a week of receiving the car while I was driving it. $175 to replace. The windshield wipers were misaligned and not functioning fully. This car was in the Pacific NW where it rains regularly. Parts and Labor $175. The driver's side lock did not work and had to be removed and rekeyed. $100 The carburetor was in terrible shape and the car kept stalling-had to do a full rebuild-$400. The manual clutch was very, very loose and at end of life and the clutch assembly needed to be replaced-$700. In short, it appears he is running a business selling older cars THAT REQUIRE some sort of checklist when he brings them in. Yet appears there is little to none QA-quality assurance. How can that possibly be? He actually said he didn't know about the door lock not working. Again, how can that be-the car was just left unlocked the whole time it was in his possession? In closing, it is abundantly clear that he is running a shady ship here and he misrepresented his product in this case in a severe way. Further he implied I should have no issues about these issues since he discounted the price for me. Again, another red herring, a non-starter. That is called negotiating! No one held a gun to his head and made him do this deal. In the end, this turned out to be a borderline nightmare-I am still dealing with issues on this over 3 months later. So far I am almost $2500 into this for fixes with another $2500 needed for the AC kit install. All of this point to the only conclusion that one can arrive at: the company is run by a shyster.

While I understand the power of money in the hand when someone makes an offer, I also question this businesses customer service and integrity. They did not call us to see if we were still interested as we had viewed it first and made an appointment (which would have likely been a sale). The fact we had taken our time to talk to the rep, make an appointment (that wasnt honored), and were then shown little courtesy or care, is extremely bad business. It is even worse that I wasted a day off work for what we thought was a set appointment. I would not trust this business again as they obviously care more about a dollar being waved in their face than they do about the integrity of customer connection or commitment to their appointments.

But why make that a ready-to-pay customer's problem? They lost the sale of two cars and two customers permanently over 2 grand with classic bullying sales garbage. I have no issue with Donny, he was helpful and kind, and we've all gotta eat. Even I've worked for a performative middle-management scumbag in a bow tie! Still, with Donny being the one positive, this place proved itself entirely untrustworthy, and I'm genuinely puzzled why the Costco program supports them. Mudslinging on social media makes me awful, but this placed earned it. The nearby Honda and Toyota lots, owned by a different family, treated us significantly better, so go there instead. Honestly, if one of them had the PHEV I wanted, I'd pay them the $2,100 difference in cash just to spite Rairdon's.
