Well back in August of 2019, my husband and I were in need of a 2500 to haul our new travel trailer. We had been looking at different places and I had my heart set on a dodge. We went to a dealership and checked out a few of their trucks, but when it came to the more expensive ones, they didn't think we could afford it even though they didn't ask us many questions. We kept looking at pictures of other trucks at other places and I kept seeing this beautiful silver F250 at ByDesign. However, I still kept thinking about a dodge. So we went to a dodge dealership just down the road from ByDesign (literally right next door). We got the same type of treatment there when looking at a new dodge. So my husband sent a message to ByDesign about the silver F250. He received a message back from a guy named Brian who said oh the truck is amazing and it even looked better in person. So we had that "oh another salesman" type attitude while we were on our way to see the truck. We pulled in and I almost died. The truck was sitting right in the middle of the lot all shiny and gorgeous. Brian came walking out and I had to stay in our car because I was too excited to see the truck. When I did finally get out, Brian just started chatting with me like he knew me or something. Pretty sure it's that small town influence he has. There was absolutely no pressure, he chatted with our kids, just like they were his own. Answered all of our questions even told us things we didn't even think to ask. We ended up purchasing Bessie that day. A year later, September 2020, my husband and I decided we wanted a bigger truck and it just so happened that ByDesign had a beautiful Black F350 they had just put on the lot. I text Brian, after hours thinking he would respond in the morning, pretty sure he was shocked since it had only been a year since we purchased Bessie. He responded and said it was available and he would call me first thing in the morning. He did and I told him what I was thinking as far as numbers and that I was gonna give him Bessie back. He said ok and what time can you be here today. I got there around 4pm, he gave me a great deal on Bessie as a trade in, and at 5:15pm we walked out with Juniper. As long as Brian continues to work for ByDesign, I will continue to purchase my cars from him. Stephanie, deals with other paperwork and such and is just as sweet and kind. Great experience especially if you want to be treated like family and not feel taken advantage of. I truly trust Brian's judgement and honesty about the vehicles he has on the lot. Great experience when purchasing. After having the car for less than one week, the engine light came on. Took it to the local dealer to diag. Catastrophic engine failure was the answer. I have put less than 500 miles on the car, even including the mileage out of state to bring it home. The engine will be covered by the remainder of the factory warranty thank goodness. I asked politely for the guys to simply cover my car payment for the one month that the vehicle would be out of my possession stuck at the dealer... "No can do, not our problem" This isn't an adequate or empathetic response on a 40k purchase. Buyer beware. read more

I can't say enough about how amazing our experience was. We worked with Brian but Jason, the owner, was very helpful as well. Purchasing a car is usually so low on my list of enjoyable activities (behind a root canal), that I put it off as long as possible. This week, I could put it off no longer. I found a car that we thought would work well for us on Carfax com and sent an email. I went in to this dealership and wanted to purchase a truck. My wife and I found the perfect fit for our family, sat down with the salesman, came up with a price and we took the agreed sale price to our credit union that was located 3 miles away in Mt. Vernon, WA. While our loan was being written up and the check cut for the purchase, the salesperson from By Design Auto Group called me and said they sold the truck to another customer that my wife and I were going to purchase, this all happened within a 1 hour period. We were both surprised, as well as our loan officer that went through the work to get the loan ready. I will not be going back to this dealership. I was looking at a BMW 328xi M/T, black on black. Discovered an expensive problem w the car, but these guys are pretty stand up. Jason held the car for me for 3 days. I drove it with Brian and I liked the car, but was very very concerned about an ongoing significant oil leak under the engine. Two separate garage mechanics noted what I found as well. Couldn't come to a deal on the car unfortunately. I asked for an allowance to fix it, couldn't make that work. But Brian and Jason refunded my deposit 100% no questions asked. And paid for my SeaTac airport shuttle round-trip just because they felt like being nice. Wasn't expecting that. Also got a ride back to the shuttle terminal. I came 2000+ miles to purchase my 2016 F150. It started out at a price that I thought was on the fair side so that's what gained my interest, that and in my opinion they had a very clean truck in the one I was looking at. I dealt with Brian, who convinced me over the phone that the vehicle was sound, I asked for certain things and he delivered them, promptly! He helped me plan out the travel situation prior to me purchasing a flight. I flew from New Orleans to Seattle, took a 2 hr shuttle ride to the station closest to the dealership to meet Brian who pick me up in the vehicle I was buying. I took a test drive, everything was as he said. In less than an hour I was on the road back home. My journey back was 39 hours and 2000+ miles. A true ride across America! 2 hours into my journey I notice my windshield wipers would stop. Didn't notice at first because the weather was spotty. Can you imagine having your windshield wipers dragging across a dry windshield for 37+ hours?! I text Brian who asked me how my journey was going, he discovered the issue, sent me the money for the part promptly. I purchased it at a ford dealer that was along the way in Denver, changed the part in 10 mins, and am now in Texas 1500 miles in and I am in love with my truck. Don't buy a car from here. Bought a car from here about a 3 years ago. Within the first week of having the vehicle it was in the shop, major engine damage. If it was something unforeseen I might go a little easier on them but there was literally a bolt missing on the top of the motor not on the side or even the bottom the top. This bolt which I even noticed was missing after about ten minutes of looking was holding in some vital things(vvt motor, variable cam shaft) which got very expensive quickly. I mean come on who is doing your inspections or are they even doing one? It makes me believe, and this is an assumption so take it how you will but I'm pretty sure all they did is reset the computer and sell it. Because no car I've ever had throws out that many codes in the first week of ownership. I'll quit because this is getting pretty long but after a thermostat, water pump, fuel pump, brakes ( they said were at 60% lasted 2000 miles), don't buy a vehicle from here. read more

I can't even explain how well we were treated at By Design! I've wanted a Honda Element for some time now and one popped up at their lot. I called down to ask about it and was treated amazingly over the phone by Stephanie. We drove from Bellingham that day to test drive it. When we arrived we realized they were closed that day. Stephanie had been doing paperwork and answered the phone. She stayed there just for us and while we test drove the vehicle. It was Dec. 23rd and they were closed for the holidays, but she still took time for us! The car was spotless! All the cars on the lot looked great and she assured us of how thorough they are with testing their vehicles. We also spoke with Jason who was great to deal with. We never felt pressured or like they were sales people, it was really comfortable! We had to think about it for a day and said we would be back after Christmas when they opened back up. They offered that if we decided we wanted it they would totally come in on Xmas eve to let us buy it! That to me was soooo above and beyond! So sure enough, Dec. 24th I showed up to a closed lot, open just for me and was treated great.
