One year almost to the day since I stopped here. Would you like to stop in Tonopah halfway from…read moreLeena to Vegas, and from Vegas Reno to get some fuel and snacks. Once again, I pulled up the Raley's app and they have no chips ... that is correct. They do not have Lays potato chips, ruffles, Doritos... nothing listed in the app so we can check any sales or specials. I remembered that this happened last year and sure enough... they have lots of chips and they have sayles but it's just not on the app. It is strange. Family Dollar, right next-door does have an app, and they list Snacks and my wife wanted to go there, but I told her I'm pretty sure Raleys will have some good snacks. It's just they don't put them on the app. I wonder how many people skip stopping at Raleys because they think they don't have chips lol. We also bought some fruit, drinks, and stuff from the deli. If I hadn't taken a chance, we would've stopped at Family Dollar next-door and just got drinks and snacks and Raley's would've lost some business.. Again, as a year later, I suggest actually listing items you have in the store on the app so we can shop using the app .

We stopped in to grab mostly snacks and some yummy drinks. When you walk into Raley's and go the right, the aisle closest to the end has all these single package snacks. Me and my brother are both vegan and we scored in this aisle! I could not believe all the different types of foods that they had, and all were very healthy! I read a review that said they were expensive. I think everything is relative. If you are traveling through and need some great foods, I would drop into Raley's... oh and the service there is amazing!

I'm so happy this place finally shut down. The people running it are garbage. Back around 2017-2019…read morethey had a couple amazing girls working there, and for no pay!!! They were ONLY allowed the tips they made. They were so disrespected and talked down to, it was disgusting. The inside was just gloomy and sad and dusty, all the time! It was not a fun and friendly place to be. You couldn't put anything on the TV that the owner didn't like. The owner also thinks that he knows everything and that women were stupid and couldn't do anything but yet the girls he had working for him had to do literally EVERYTHING, down to cooking the owner breakfast when they weren't even "working". He had even refused to make drinks for people MANY times; and not because he couldn't (well, probably because he couldn't), or didn't have the ingredients... Simple because he didn't want to. Those girls would quickly look up a drink of the didn't know it, and try their damnedest to make it for you. But then to constantly get accused of stealing. Carol wasn't THAT horrible, she had her good days... until the evil, nasty Ruth would get into her ear. But they both made that place miserable. But mostly Ruth. That is the most ugly, vile woman ever to walk on earth. Nasty to look at and listen to. I wouldn't take, nor drink, a beer from her hand or you actually paid me!! That one lady, dark and purple hair with tattoos, she was the best! She held that place together and once she was gone, that bar went downhill FAST! They were stupid for letting Ruth run her off. That place would most likely still be open if she was there!!! THANK GOD IT CLOSED!!!

What can I say... A friend and I stumbled on this place probably 10 or more years ago. What made it…read morespecial to ME was that they had "Gentleman Jack" at the bar. I've been to really upscale bars that didn't offer this fine spirit. So now, fastforward to 2010, and my wife and I are out RV'ing. You know, pick-up and travel trailer. We arrived in Belmont on a Thursday with the hopes of stopping at "Indian Maggie's" (formerly the Monitor Inn, it seems) for a Gentleman Jack Manhattan. Silly us, because nothing is open until Friday, and even THEN, most places are closed (due, I think, to our being here in mid-September, long after normal 'tourist' season). One local we ran into assured us the bar would be open on Friday, sometime after noon. So, being in NO rush, we found the unpublished "Belmont Campground" nearby and set up for the night. After all, the whole reason for this return visit was to have our cherished Gentleman Jack Manhattan - IN BELMONT! We hiked back into town from the campground on Friday, early afternoon, and sure enough, the bar was open. I love the sign outside that announces "Cold Beer, Wild Stories, Fine Spirits, and Good Cigars". We sidled up to the bar, and the owner, a crusty old gent who's name I embarrassingly forget, took our order. "Two Gentleman Jack Manhattans". Yup, he still had GJ, but had to get a flashlight out to find it under the bar. He hauled out an unopened bottle, dust covered, and wiped it off, Good as new! I asked how he made his Manhattans (because we've found a lot of bartenders who really DON'T know how to make a proper Manhattan!) and he just said, "Well, according to the gentleman we keep this stuff for, I just pour a bunch of this in the glass, then add sweet vermouth until it's the right color". I though "Uh oh...". BUT, he made magnificent Manhattans! And uh, healthy ones at that. So while we're sitting there sipping our drinks and talking with the gentleman, in walks another local and the bartender automatically opens a beer and hands it to him. And right behind him comes another local, who also has beer handed to him. This is obviously the local meeting place - for the town men anyway. And these guys are a crack-up! We listened and laughed all afternoon. Even got invited into the conversation (and to a pot luck dinner that would be going on after 6 that evening). Another lady drove up, walked in, and ordered a beer. Wifey and I talked with her for almost an hour. She ended up having TWO beers, then moved on. Three other gents drove up, came in and had a couple beers, then left. How do so many people just happen BY here? So we're having SUCH a good time with these folks, we order up another pair of GJ Manhattans, never bothering to ask how much they are (because, after all, we're on vacation and don't CARE how much...!). Plus, we're walking, so 'impaired driving" is not an issue. And with THESE Manhattans, it WOULD be an issue - ha. Three hours later, we're still sitting there having a HELL of a good time. Too bad this place isn't closer to home (Carson City) cuz we'd be here a lot. So, bottom line is, if you're anywhere NEAR Belmont on a Friday, or weekend, ya gotta stop here! It's the stuff stories are made of (as the sign says on the outside - ha). Oh, and if you want to know how to tell a local from a tourist at the bar? Locals all have a toothpick in their mouth. We tourists show up 'toothpick free'.

Sad to report this establishment is closed. There is another "watering hole" in town, Dirty Dicks…read moreBelmont Saloon. Nice place, COLD beer, awesome Bloody Mary.
