Good Eats Deli is located in a Northridge Plaza with Planet Fitness, Raley's, and a few other businesses. There was plenty of parking and I was able to grab a spot near the business. They had one little table outside and a few small tables inside so you could enjoy your food right away. The team greeted me right away and I let them know it was my first time in. I ended up ordering the Salami Supreme ($13.99) that comes with your choice of bread, Genoa salami, turkey, ham, provolone, lettuce, tomato, and your choice of spread- I opted for Dutch Crunch and the pesto mayo for my choices. The sandwich also comes with a side salad or macaroni salad and a small cookie. I also ordered the Lamb Gyro Wrap ($14.39) with lamb gyro meat, diced cucumber, tomato salad, lettuce and housemade tzatziki sauce. This also comes with a side and small cookie. The sandwiches came out quickly and were a good size and value with the side and cookie for the price. The ingredients were fresh and the house sauces definitely elevated the experience. I hadn't had a gyro in a while so I claimed the wrap as my own and it didn't make it home. I also got to try the Salami Supreme and it was delicious with the pesto mayo on it. They have a lot of sandwich options on the menu and I'll definitely be back to try more.

When I walked in, the lady at the counter greeted me in the most unique way possible: by staring at me in silence until I made it to the register. Eventually, I got a menu and ordered the Turkey Chipotle and Chicken Pesto Club. I have to give credit where it's due--the sandwiches were delicious. The Chicken Pesto Club was packed with flavor, the marinated chicken was juicy, and the bacon tied everything together perfectly. The Turkey Chipotle was so good I went back for the second half later. That's when I got an unexpected extra ingredient: a long hair in my sandwich. Nothing kills a craving faster than that. As someone who works in the food industry, that's a pretty big miss and instantly ruined my appetite. Cookie? Mac salad? Straight to the trash. So anyway I really enjoy a delicious pastrami sandwich. And the ratings for Rim's Hot Pastrami caught my tastes buds. I am in agreement with the ratings. Very delicious Hot Pastrami Sandwich from the roll, to the pastrami, to the fresh veggies to the sauce...it all came together in a very tasty bite all the way through the very last bite. I also tried their macaroni salad it was okay. But one needs to understand my Mama made a very delicious macaroni salad...so the bar is set very high when I measure out other folks macaroni salad. I came up to him today with a cup of tea, and he asked if I could get him a cup of coffee. I said sure, it's 2 dollars that I can spend on someone in a similar situation that I have been in myself before. I came out with a cup of coffee for him, he was standing by the bar down the street. He requested milk and sugar. I didn't want to touch the cup he was holding so I said okay. The girl at the register was happy to give me an extra cup for milk and sugar. I filled it and was cornered when I was exiting. She was fuming, flustered saying that refills aren't free. How dare I take free refills from the shop before. I apologetically expressed I can pay for a second cup of coffee. She didn't back down. She verbally berated me in front of EVERYONE and it was an awful experience. I've been homeless myself but I've never looked it. This is unacceptable behavior and very ableist. I will still come by, but I wanted to warn others that this place is very discriminatory against the disabled homeless population and I do not want to be a part of this kind of energy.

There's laters of meat and cheese on the bread l, and then there is a sweet pickle relish (like you'd put on a hotdog) and then plenty of chopped tomato and onion and sub sauce. The sweetness of the relish through me off, but works with the sandwich. Something interesting about both sandwiches is that they didn't have sandwich toppings like lettuce that wouldn't rewarm well. The chopped tomatoes and onion are great cold, but if you decide to reheat your sandwich they're still great. I don't know if this was the plan but it worked out well. The portion sizes on everything were also fair for the price, and the food was filling. I'm excited to visit again to explore more of the menu, including their meatball sub, pastrami, and cannoli.
