Ok, I've been shopping here for years... and also do a lot of shopping at Costco. Many of these reviews are obnoxious, the clientele is just fine, unless you're the bigoted type. I've gotten to know many of the checkers and they are generally great! The lines are long, yes, no question, but screw that if you can't wait a few minutes to save BIG. Their prices dwarf anyone else around so a solid 4 stars for price, selection and we really like the bakery. The store is very popular because of this reason so if you want boutique small lines, sky-high prices and fast checkout go to somewhere twice the price! read more

This chain is employee owned which is cool and keeps prices fair compared to other stores like Raley's/Bel air which charge twice as much for the same product. They have a great selection of fresh produce. My favorite is that they have bins for everything from spices to pasta and pet food and everything in between. This is especially great for us cooks who need random spices all the time and don't want to commit to a whole bottle when all we need is a teaspoon of something. The meat prices are a little lower than other stores but not by my much. I've heard their fried chicken is to die for but have not had it yet. I'll report back when I do. All the checkers are friendly. The lines can get crazy so I do appreciate the self check for 15 or less items. They are open late which is very convenient. They do a good job of keeping things tidy and clean. read more

Why does WinCo have a low score?? They literally have all the same stuff you will find at other grocery stores for wayyy cheaper. Yes, you have to bag your own groceries and it's a big store. But you can't beat that feeling when you filled your basket to the brim and they tell you the total and it's not half your paycheck! read more

This WinCo store is located in the old space where Weinstocks department store used to be. It's big enough to fit all the products I'm accustomed to finding at a WinCo store. The employees are always busy restocking and doing their thing, but seemed happy to help you find the items that you are looking for. The cleanliness of a WinCo store is one of the positive aspects of shopping there. I like having a good selection of national brands alongside the house brands that allow you to save even more on shopping. These days, fewer people can afford the normal markups on groceries. WinCo stores are wonderful to have nearby. The produce and meat departments kept nice and stocked up with a good selection of items. I'm happy to hat they stock Bustelo espresso coffee in the can for such a good price. read more

Best prices and a huge variety. We've moved to the East Coast, and there's nothing like that here, or possibly anywhere. I miss it.

I'm not someone to leave a yelp review on a GROCERY store lol Also here's a random photo i took, didn't know they still made charleston chew candy. I just wanted to give a review to my awesome cashier. I went shopping at 10 PM at night and my cashier was one of the most happiest guys ever just happy to be there and help. Not sure if it's the training or they're hiring, very sweet people but I've never had a bad experience with any of the cashiers here. I was embarrassed because it was my first time using my EBT card and I felt like I was holding up the line. My cashier was so helpful and understanding. I purposely make the 30 minute drive for these hard to beat prices and exceptional service. Thank You Winco!! read more

Surprised to see that I've never reviewed my local Winco. Always an abundance of options no matter what I'm looking for, but my favorite thing is the service..that staff is always so nice and helpful. Today I was looking for a specific brand of hot cocoa that a friend said was in the bulk section. Having no luck half way through the isles I saw James who was restocking the bulk bins. He immediately knew which hot cocoa I was referring to and told me where I could find it. The day was already late and we didn't feel like cooking so off to the hot deli we went. Christian packaged our chicken dinner and even de with my two order changes with a smile. Love my Winco! read more

* Lines are so long, they go down into the grocery aisles. Only 2-3 checkout registers open. Be prepared to stand in line for 20+mins * I've witnessed children sticking their hands in the barrels of loose bulk food grabbing "samples" * Employees are always in a nasty mood. Acting like customer's presence is significantly interrupting their time at work. Literally only had one decent interaction at this location. read more

What happened to Winco? Never enough checkers open no matter what time. Lines are always super long and go down the refrigerated aisles towards the back of the store, the 15 items or less checkouts close early, and the checker is rude. I'll be shopping at Walmart from now on. read more

The customer service is so bad. I had a very bad frustrating experience with a lady works there named Brianna. She is so mean and disrespectful to customer. Winco train your employees to respect the customers. read more

Pros: Consistently good prices Decent selection/variety of items. Cons: Intolerable lines at check-out at any time of day. Eliminated self-checkout kiosks. Express check-out closes about 1.5 hours before regular closing hours. In fairness, part of this store's problem is its location & clientele. read more

I am at winco today and I had the worst experience there. I was buying the banana chips from the bin and Berianna an employee there yelled from behind me saying you cant eat from there. I told her I am chewing a gum not eating. It is a very unprofessional way to talk to customers. Instead of yelling from far a way come next to me and talk politely. Store manager your employee doesn't know how to respect and talk to people. Give her more trainings. I wonder how around 15 steps behind me were able to see I am eating from the bin rude and disrespectful. Never go there again. read more

I love Winco. It's a little further out so I like to get up and go early but that's kind of the rule for any grocery store. I like the items that they have and it's just a different type of store. I really love Winco. I wish we had one closer but then again that probably wouldn't be a good idea for my pocketbook. read more

I erroneously posted this on the wrong store location. This review is specifically how i'm treated shopping at this location. I got there around 8am and the place was a wreck. I'm overcharged EVERY SINGLE TIME i shop there. I have to pay attention and you should too. The customers were having a hard time shopping because there were probably about 6-7 pallets blocking the aisle between the meat refrigerators and the seafood case. you could not pass by. The deli and bakery lights were off and it looked like everyone showed up late. I'll let you know what happens on my next trip! read more

Tyler that was on the 2nd express register was RUDE AF- Yelled NO MORE THAN 15 ITEMS because I picked up 3 different candies that was IN THE CHECK OUT LINE STAND and had 18 items and he just yelled it, there was no customer service at all. I went to the Watt Avenue Winco to get my mother a food gift card. I witnessed an Afghan family grazing on fruits and open bin candy. Ironically I got to the 15 Items or less line right behind them. When they finished putting their 25+ items on the conveyor and checked out I asked if they were going to pay for all the candy their kids ate and the lolly pops hanging out their mouths. The dad says "my neighbor paid for them" are you kidding me that's the best reply you could come up with. Winco needs to tighten their belts on this constant petty theft from these Immigrants. They seem to think everything is free and they can do as they wish. The checker a female starts to jump my ass and tells me stop harassing them?? I simply asked if they were going to pay for the candy they ate!!! 2pm 5/5/26 15 Items or less line. You will know who your employee was WINCO ! ! ! read more

First time shopping at Winco, great experience. We spent 250 for our family of 3, should last us at least 2 weeks. Produce and meat is amazing prices! So is dairy and eggs. Heather noticed we were first timers and explained the red, yellow, and green tags to us. She was super kind and helpful! The whole store was organized and in a good layout. Bakery was great! I really love how they have nuts and dried fruit and cereals and candies in those dispensers. They had everything from dates to pancake mix, flour, sugar, corn meal, you name it; in barrels. Loved that section! They even have a coffee section of dispensers with a grinder. At checkout we found out they only take debit so Robin was extremely patient with us while I had to transfer money. She was also extremely kind and friendly the way Heater was. Awesome store, Amazing staff! I've recently had terrible experiences at Costco with quality of food, Safeway with quality of service, and Walmart in general. Looking forward to making this my main grocery store for my family. They've definitely earned our business. Shoutout to Robin and Heather for the excellent service! read more

How good of a WinCo is depends on the location. This WinCo Foods on Watt Ave at Country Club Plaza Shopping Mall is one of the good stores they have in the better neighborhood! The store is clean and well organized inside. The entrance is a little weird. You must walk through a long hallway if entering the store directly from both sides of the parking lots. The main entrance is connected to the semi-abandoned shopping mall with only a few stores, restaurants, and a theatre. The prices are usually lower than most of the supermarkets on average. They carry almost everything the other supermarkets have at usually a better price. However, they take cash and ATM cards only. The cashier counters usually have long, slow-moving lines, or you can use their self-checkouts. The front parking lot is jam-packed all the time. But you can park your car much easier by going to the back parking lot. The area looks clean and pretty safe to me. read more

I shop Winco all the time. They have good produce, and an extensive bulk food selection. Prices are better than most larger grocery stores. Employees are friendly and helpful. read more

In a nutshell, the bulk herbs, spices, legumes and grains section make a visit to Winco a necessity every so often. I braved the midday crowds intent on getting several dried herbs, vegetables and spices, including dill, dry chopped onion and sage. I only need small amounts, so this is a really cost-effective solution. Folks shopping here seem more polite compared to some other stores (ahem, costco) and the staff are helpful and professional. In spite of it being busy, I got through fairly quickly with my small shopping list. read more

The people who staff this store are nearly universally rude. I made 3 trips Dec. 2025, all to buy gift cards. 1 of 5 employees was polite. The other four were too angry to be running a store. The first visit, I asked why all the cashier stands were blocked off (couldn't get into store). Yelled at! "People steal." On the same visit, another "employee" refused to tell me what was basically on a blocked off isle, although he stated he had worked there 15 years. He stated he only answered questions about his own section (but no other employees were there to ask). Today, after 10 minutes in line with gift cards, "you have go to customer service to buy those." NO ONE at the customer service counter. Lady @ check stand called to me and said, "I'm customer service. I can help you." I walked around partition to enter her line. Instead, she left and went to help another customer, even though she had seen me start to walk towards her. One employee,, out of five and on three separate visits, took the time to actually fully answer my question. This is an "employee-owned" store where the "employee-owners" are not willing to even be civil. Today's Receipt 12/11/125 @ 10:02:31. Open#168723. Try #28. Term #1. Store #0133. I am a 72 year-old woman who got yelled or snapped at by 4 out of 5 employees in response to reasonable questions. (i.e., "where would I find candles?"). It is beyond me why that should provoke an angry response. Nor should "employees" be surprised that a customer who has waited patiently in line for nearly 15 minutes to pay for gift cards and then is told to go to another counter would be upset. Let alone that the new counter is not staffed. Then customer is called over to a check stand--and that checker has walked off. It's sad when an establishment, let alone an "employee-owned" establishment, when a little old lady can't comfortably buy even a gift card. Sincerely, Lynda C. (only 2nd review I've ever posted in my life). read more

Wow, I can't believe how much money I've been throwing away at other grocers around town. Since grocery prices have skyrocketed in the past few years it was a relief to see shelf items such a pasta, pasta sauce, canned goods, and vegetables at reasonable prices. We stocked up on canned favorites, artichokes, brussels sprouts, salads, and fruits. I didn't bother checking out the meat selection since we were already stocked at home but my husband did pick up a tri-tip at a good price. I appreciate the prices, organization and stock of items at WinCo. We also picked up a take and bake pizza flat bread which turned out to be delicious. While I've heard of the benefits of shopping at WinCo before, we just never made the trek over since its farther from home. The only reason we stumbled in this time was because we were in the area for a birthday. The question that remains is if the cost of gas to drive over to WinCo outweighs the extra cost and convenience of staying local. I'm sure if we are in the area or need to stock up we'll make the drive over to WinCo however for weekly grocery shopping we'll likely stay local. Lastly, as mentioned in other reviews, Winco is cash/debit card only so be prepared to front the money! read more

The past couple weeks I have seen improvement in the tidiness of the store. The produce section looks great! Not so many empty pallets left in the aisle. All aisles were accessible. I don't shop at Winco often, but when I do it's at this location. It's fairly clean and organized inside. They have a large selection of produce -- even items that you may not easily find at other grocery stores (unless they're international stores). They also have a large selection of dried nuts and candy. They also have pet food and snacks in large bins so you can just buy what you need. I also think that their employees usually have great customer service! They're very quick with checking us out and they have a good amount of employees working the cashiers so you're not waiting forever to get out after a long time shopping! read more

This is the worse Winco Foods in Sacramento! Terrible consumer service. There's this terrible, and I mean terrible associate that works here. Not to clear of her name, but she is African American with glasses, braids, and a headband. She was very rude to my family and other costumers. When I went to go confront her to the manager, you can tell she ran off because she was scared! This lady needs to get fired IMMEDIATELY. I would not give my business to this winco ever again. I love this store especially the meat department and the prices are good. I have to travel a little bit but it's always worth the journey.

Don't sleep on these essential workers. They're out there in this ruthless holiday season getting work done! I didn't pay close enough attention to name tags but on 11/22 at around 8pm, I think Zach was near the produce. He was pushing a dolly or cart of boxes and stopped to wipe up a spill. Another person near the checkout area also wiped up a spill amid all of the people walking all over it. I think Svitlana helped me at the register and she was also kind and patient. Lastly, on my way out, I overheard a guy talking to another guy about corralling all the carts in from outside. Possibly the best work ethic I've seen at a grocery store. Can't take them for granted. Thanks! read more
