Bacon and cheese frittata. Unusual but very light and tasty.

Nice little place to grab a coffee, bakery treat, or light breakfast. The people are very friendly and helpful. The bakery is delicious and a bacon and cheese frittata was a little different than I'm used to but very tasty. I'd love to see some expansion in the savory offerings. We really were impressed at how nice and comfortable this little place was. We will be back.

Turkey & havarti cheese sandwich on focaccia bread along with an iced lavender latte. It was all really good, definitely recommend!

This is such a delicious gem in downtown West Chicago!! I had a turkey & havarti cheese sandwich on focaccia bread (and it had sliced green apples on it, my favorite!!!) along with an iced lavender latte. It was all really good, definitely recommend. The staff were all so nice and welcoming, it was my first time visiting but the staff made me feel like a loved "regular". The ambiance is very chill, no pressure to eat and leave, I had my lunch and read my book and never felt rushed. I'm definitely going to become a legit regular here :)

Cinnamon toast and apple pie muffins!

What a delightful little place tucked into a strip mall. It's part bakery, part cafe / sandwich…read morespot, and yes, it is adorable, with tiny alpaca and llama stickers all over the counter, with walls decorated with stenciled Nazca line designs and the standard (pretty) fake grass/flowers selfie area. There are vegetarian options - vegetarian panini, spinach/cheese empanadas; papas con huancaina, (delicious Peruvian cheese sauce) and apparently if you ask, she'll make something like the beef sandwich with tofu. I got two spinach/cheese empanadas, a chocolate alfajor (several flavors available); a key lime tart, a pavlova, and some chicha morada. I've never seen pavlova in a bakery; she filled a meringue shell with cream and fruit, and it was indeed delightful, certainly worth coming back for in spring when strawberries/fresh fruit is at its peak. The alfajor was crisp/crumbly and not too sweet; the empanadas are baked, not fried, and she warmed them up. It's more spinach than cheese, but quite respectable. The key lime pie was also respectable, with a crumbly crust; the filling was tasty but more of it would be good. The owner was super helpful, walking me through my options and noting that unfortunately yes, most of the cheesecakes have gelatin in them. I'll certainly be back to try her huancaina, get some more cookies, and maybe snag an Inca Cola.

The morning of our party, we picked up the cakes which looked beautiful and were a huge hit! The cake itself was very light and delicious. I loved the raspberry jam we added, it was so flavorful. The buttercream frosting is almost a whipped buttercream, very light and airy! We are happy with our decision to get cakes here.

Those items are a bit pricier than the rest but they are quite unique. The cruffins are flakey, sugary without being overwhelming, creamy but subtle, and very satisfying. I have a strong sweet tooth and I am greedy. So I generally like to try more than one item in one sitting. These portions are not small and I would recommend sharing if you want to try a variety. I have monthly appointments in the general area and I try to plan it so that I will have enough time before or after my appointment to make a quick stop at Fiene's. My visits are usually during the week and I would be in and out within 10 minutes.
