    Chocolate Cupcake And Giardiniera Focaccia
    Steve A.

Found out about this all vegan bakery in Batavia. It has everything from breads to cupcakes. New Moon has premade items as well as making things for custom orders. Also there's an indoor dining area if wanting to get something to eat here. The prices aren't bad on most things. Came to get some breads and pies for a gathering. It's a bakery that only uses plant based products. There's no eggs, milk, or things like those. From what we have tasted, these things are hardly missed. Take home things, or you can enjoy some items on site. It's about $4 for a cupcake. Lots of icing. There's several flavors including chocolate and vanilla. It's about $5 to get a big piece of focaccia. The best one of these was the one made with giardiniera, which had a pretty hot spice. Best bakery around if looking for plant based. It's closed Sundays to Tuesdays. The entire selection is okay for vegans.

New Moon is legit not-to-miss for food & friendliness. The vibe is warm, welcoming, spacious enough for privacy at a table with friends, yet cozy. Delicious iced chai. Bad news ~ I'm spoiled forever now! While the price point for chai is similar to what you'll see at Starbucks, man, the quality here is unmatched. One sip and I felt transported to India, the spices are unbelievably good. I was like. what is happening, where am I?! I'll probably feel the need for a Chai from New Moon any time I'm within 20 miles of Batavia. I recommend the scones too - I had an apricot rosemary one. It has very nicely balanced notes of sweet apricot and rosemary, not too heavy on either. And like, really REALLY good crumb. You know that experience where you're like, yum, and wow that's different, and I want another bite of that? Yep, that's the stuff I'm talking about. I'm just visiting, for care of a family member. We came here to bring back goodies to spoil him. Wish I lived here. And y'all, if you do, stop in for a chai and a scone for me. You'll thank your lucky stars. And realize this is a go-to when you need your mid-week pick-me-up treat-yourself kind of day!

Ohhhhh my, ohhhhh my! Visited New Moon with my gal pal running buddy and the food and bakery items, delicious. My friend, Carol, says if we were to serve to non vegans they wouldn't know that they were not eating meat products. The chef/ creators truly put a lot of effort and love into presenting scrumptious, wholesome, filling, satisfying food. The bakery is just lovely, peaceful, historic feel.

I have been driving an hour round trip each week to eat at NMW since it opened 2 years ago. Their food is so delicious. It's actually made it disappointing when we travel and try other vegan restaurants and donuts because I'm so disappointed they don't live up to New Moon Vegan standards and taste.

Was pulled over in Batavia on a phone call and noticed I was next to this shop that had come up on social media a couple of times so decided to stop in. They have a nice variety of vegan pastries and baked goods to choose from which the staff member was more than happy to tell me all about. He mentioned that they also had soups and breakfast sandwiches. Although I had told myself that I wouldn't be grabbing anything as I had just finished lunch that quickly changed when my brain got hold of the sight and smell of the tray of focaccia. I grabbed an herb one and it was delicious. I'm not vegan but will definitely keep New Moon in mind the next time I'm in the mood for a pastry.

The tastiest vegan treats you'll ever have! It's so hard to find yeast-raised vegan donuts, and New Moon not only makes them but blows other donuts out of the water! Their staff is friendly and helpful, and the ambiance is quaint and inviting. They also have local gifts and creations for sale, and it really gives off the most quintessential small business and local cafe vibe that feels like home.

Incredible bakery!! Classic donuts, cookies, pies, cupcakes as well as unique sweet and savory baked creations and foods. Friendly and attentive staff, high quality goods made with love. My husband is dairy intolerant and loves everything from New Moon because he can eat it without worry. They also have GF goods, soups, sandwiches, tea; all vegan. Dine in surrounded by an awesome fun and artsy vibe or take to go. A great addition to Batavia, even if you aren't vegan!

We started with an order of their Street Corn Deviled Eggs which were amazing..super creamy. They do have a GF menu so my wife had a bowl of their homemade chili and I had their Italian Beef Bao trio. Both were delicious and very meaty. They have an extension whiskey/bourbon list plus their burgers looked amazing. We will definitely be back!

They also changed up their cocktail menu, and we were super excited to see they had some new summer drinks. This is definitely one of my new favorite restaurants in the area. It's perfect for special occasions and date nights. The first two times we came we sat at the bar, but we came right when they opened and were able to be seated at a table. I love the candlesticks they have lit at the tables. There's a a view of the kitchen as well. To drink, I had the Dip in the Backyard Kiddie Pool (very refreshing) and Fresa Fresca (basically a strawberry margarita and it was super refreshing and tasted like strawberry juice). For dessert, we shared the oreo carjillo. It was pretty strong to me, but it definitely tasted like Oreos and milk! To eat as an appetizer, they gave us complimentary bread and butter and we ordered the sundried tomato oil to go along with it (a must). Their bread is so soft and fresh. We also got the bone marrow (forgot to get a photo), and it was some of the best we've had!! For our entrees, we got the two pasta dishes. They called them "small plates" but it was the perfect amount of food for us with our appetizers. I had the spicy carrot rigatoni pasta and it was super fresh. I love that they cooked the pasta al dente.

Our waitress greeted us warmly and quickly brought out water and coffee. She did a great job of keeping both glasses and mugs full throughout the meal. I got it with bacon as my meat and dipped it in the chipotle vinaigrette on the side as I ate it. It was awesome! I really loved that instead of black beans, there were refried beans in it, as they added a great creaminess to the meal. The fruit bowl was also impressive to me, as it was full of diverse fresh fruit. It was better than the normal assorted melons I am used to at restaurants. I got an iced salted caramel latte to go before leaving since we had a long car ride ahead of us. It was on the sweet side, with little espresso flavor coming through, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I informed our server that I have celiac disease, and she was helpful in confirming that the cocktails were gluten-free. I ordered the Pineapple Express sangria, and it was absolutely delicious. When it comes to the food, most items on the menu can actually be made gluten-free, but they aren't marked on the menu and they do not offer a separate gluten-free menu. Our server did let us know right away that they were out of three of their entree items. For my meal, I started with the gluten-free soup which comes with gluten-free noodles, and it was really good. However, I didn't really like any of the remaining entrees they had left available, so I decided to order sides instead. The server mentioned that most of the sides are or can be made gluten-free. I chose the creamy mashed potatoes and the brussel sprouts, specifically requesting the sprouts without croutons. When the food arrived, the brussel sprouts unfortunately had croutons on them. I pointed it out to the server, and she immediately said she would have them remade for me. While I am very glad I caught the mistake before eating them, it is something to watch out for. Overall, the experience was mediocre.
