We were looking for a local coffee and donut shop before visiting my girlfriend's grandma and stumbled across this place tucked between Little Pop's Pizza and New China. It was bright, clean, and busy on an early Saturday morning, with a friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. We ordered a box of four donuts along with a Triple Mocha and a Caramel Latte. The total came to $30.92 after tax... ouch. Our coffees couldn't have been more different. The Triple Mocha was smooth, rich, and full of chocolate flavor without being overly sweet. The Caramel Latte, however, tasted oddly synthetic with a slightly burnt finish. If I'd tried them blind, I wouldn't have guessed they came from the same shop. I was happy; she was disappointed. The donuts were fresh, dense, and clearly made with quality ingredients. They were good (not great) cake donuts, but not quite memorable enough to justify the premium price tag. Overall, we enjoyed the experience more than we didn't, and Grandma loved the coffee cake donuts we brought her. The atmosphere, service, and Triple Mocha stood out, while the inconsistent coffee and steep pricing held it back a bit. I stopped by Petit Three in need of a bite to eat and was invited in by their cheerful and spacious dining area. I appreciated their helpful and friendly baristas, which explained to me that the morning deal they offer is only for hot lattes. Their food menu is quite impressive, with very unique and delicious spins on classics like avocado toast and breakfast sandwiches. I ordered the B.E.C. and iced horchata latte (16oz). The bacon, aioli, caramelized onions, all of it, wow, best I've ever had. I think breakfast sandwiches have been ruined for me everywhere. The coffee was tasty, not nearly as memorable. First time having their coffee and breakfast sandwich this morning. Unfortunately, they were out of the black sesame which is what I came for. I ordered an iced vanilla latte instead. You can tell they make their own syrup. It looks like there are vanilla flecks in my latte. It is very balanced and good! I also love how they have all the milk options - regular, almond, oat, coconut and soy! I ordered the SEC sausage breakfast sandwich and it was delicious. The bread was so good and fluffy. Though delicious, I'm typically more of a classic breakfast sandwich person and it was a little heavy for me. High quality ingredients here! Petit three is a small and locally owned spot with handmade donuts. A group of 3 of us came in on a Saturday morning and it was packed! I was not expecting it to be so busy given that we went bright and early. It was great to see this business doing so well. Even with it being crowded, the staff members were able to keep up with the influx of orders and everything came out in a timely manner. I love how light and bright the inside is. Im a big fan of whites and blues and thought it was designed well. It's beautiful! For my drink I tried the masala chai and I didn't love it. It tasted artificial and was too sweet for my liking. That's okay! I may stick to drip coffee next time. Now the donuts?! Delicious!!! I had the strawberry shortbread and a Nutella espresso. Between the 2 cake donuts I preferred the Nutella espresso. It's a nice little find hidden in a strip malls next to Mariano's in Aurora. They sell doughnuts individually or you can buy boxes of four, six, or a dozen. When I stopped in, they happened to have four unadorned donuts remaining thus I was able to choose my flavors, and went with strawberry shortbread, burnt & salty, and Samoa. I didn't taste the Samoa but I had some of the others. My favorite was probably the burnt & salty, and it had a delicious flavor that had some notes of maple in it. The strawberry did taste of berry but not sickly sweet or artificial, and it had some added texture with the crumbs on part of it. I have to be honest that the donut isn't really my type of donut--it's much more dense than what I like if I'm going to have a donut (which isn't my favorite pastry, either). But the flavors they have are really creative and they do it well. They also have coffees and tea on their menu, and some savory stuff as well--the toasts sounded really good. I was told that it was ideal to leave the box open if not eating them immediately, so that the glazes could solidify a bit more quickly. I'll bet they're delicious when the glaze is warm! I always love a place with some aspect of experimentation or deviation from the norm on the menu (although they make obvious hits too - like strawberry shortcake), and they pair it here with incredible execution. I had a miso and wildflower honey donut that kind of broke my brain. On top of an amazing ability to pair flavors, they have the execution. The texture of their items are mind blowing. Nothing dry and gritty. Had a sandwich with the softest English muffin I've ever had. So, totally recommend this place. They are not afraid to experiment with unique flavors and are able to execute their vision flawlessly time and time again. They also offer some of the best coffee and matcha I've been able to find since moving to the Chicagoland area, adapting typical Asian flavors into some truly unique and delicious lattes. We happened to be driving through Aurora and decided to make a pit stop at their cafe. The location is tucked just behind Mariano's which made parking easy. We ordered online for pickup and they were finishing up just as we arrived (we were early). We ordered the HEC and ricotta toasts, both of which were fantastic. This is a great doughnut shop if you love cake doughnuts. From a business standpoint, it's genius. Every doughnut is a vanilla cake so it's really streamlined, but they're topped with several different options. The Coffee Cake doughnut was my favorite. It reminded me of those packaged coffee cakes from my childhood, but those were dry. These were really fantastic. I really liked the Samoa doughnut, but the almond extract was just slightly overpowering for me. Still really good and I'd recommend though. The Burnt & Salty is quite good if you love brown butter. Which you should. Everyone should love "beurre noisette" as the French call it. The Blueberry Basil hits you with both flavors. Loved the fresh basil. -It packed a bit of an unexpected punch. Way overpriced for the quality. $11 for an OK muffin (unless you want avocado, of course, then it's $13) and $32 a dozen for a mildly unpleasant doughnut. Don't forget to tip. The $11 for the pre-avocado muffin doesn't include making it and handing it to you. To their credit, the muffin is better than McDonalds, just not 3x better to justify the price. I don't think the doughnut was supposed to be bitter, so maybe your doughnut will be better. I was here several months ago and was happier. Maybe just an off day. The flavors here are quite different from what you'll see elsewhere like blueberry basil, orange burst, dreamy matcha, and olive pistachio. Even with the more common sounding flavors, there are unexpected ingredients like smoked bacon, miso, vermont maple, and cacao nibs. These ingredients are quite distinct and you'll definitely notice the quality with each bite. Same with the drinks, made from the finest ingredients as well. This is a super cute cafe. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting. Today was my first time there and I have to say I really enjoyed my visit. I tried the caramel latte and it was superb.
