In a panic, I called Frankie's Pizza, worried they were about to close. I felt terrible explaining my situation to the staff, a last-minute, large order with no notice. I was ready for a frustrated sigh, but instead, I was met with immediate, kind understanding. I paid over the phone and raced over. They had my entire order ready to go the moment I walked through the door. Phenomenal service, as always. But the moment that TRULY melted my heart happened when I pulled up to the house and checked the pizzas. Tucked into one of the boxes, right next to the pizza saver, was a handwritten note: "You're a great mom, even if no one acknowledges it. :)" I was in tears. Seriously, tears. That small, kind, human gesture cost them absolutely nothing but instantly made my entire stressful work week worth it. It made my heart absolutely smile. Frankie's Pizza is more than just a pizza place; they are truly a part of the community. Looking at the bottom of the pizza it was barely a tan color. The veggies were pretty much raw, or very al dente. A little more time in the oven and we would have been OK. It is not supposed to be "chewy." There was not crunch to it at all. We had to eat it with a fork, not being able to pick it up.

The sign on the door said that they were open until 9:00 PM so we figured we'd be met with the new, new. You know, sorry folks, we are closing in a half hour so we're only doing carryout orders but that was absolutely not the case! We were welcomed in a very warm fashion. There were even two more parties that came in after us and we were pleasantly surprised at how gracious the hosts were to everyone. Even when they knew that they would be open a bit later than closing. The waitress was very animated and took very good care of everyone with a great positive attitude and a friendly demeanor. She kept our drinks refilled and was very attentive to everyone in the restaurant. We ordered our food and were happy to find out that our granddaughter would be eating for free. Kids eat free on Mondays with the purchase of an adult entree. They even have a really cool option where kids can build their own pizza. It's called the pie up pizza. They brought our granddaughter a tray with the pizza dough, a bowl of sauce and her toppings on the side. She then was able to spread the sauce and add the toppings just the way she wanted. When she was ready, they took the pizza in back and cooked it for her. My wife and I both agreed that the flavor of our pizza was reminiscent of the old Pizza & Pipes restaurant that we grew up visiting and that nostalgia for us was priceless. We shared a chop salad, and everything was delicious. Next time we go out for pizza, I'm sure we are headed back to Trackside! This place has more value than most establishments in this day and age. I ordered the Weekday Special, which had so many options it was hard to decide, but I ended up choosing the Meatball Grinder. The Weekday Special comes with a side salad and a choice of dressings. The Meatball Grinder is savory, filling & delicious! Really loved the soft bread and the red sauce. It's a two meal kind of sandwich (for me).
