Not as great: The sales manager wouldn't budge... he was stuck on higher than retail book value for the sales price, and lower than trade book value for my car. I also drove over an hour to go and see the car over Memorial Day weekend with the hopes of working out the deal in person, but when I arrived I was told that the vehicle wasn't on the lot because the General Manager was personally using the vehicle during that time... so I was basically out of luck. read more

1 star. Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced. The service manager, Aaron Tolliver, was dreadful to deal with from start to finish. My wife was treated like a joke the entire time and was met with dismissive, sexist behavior instead of professionalism or respect. She specifically had a conversation with the service department requesting that they contact her before performing any work on the vehicle. They completely ignored that request and proceeded with service anyway without authorization or communication. Then they essentially held her car hostage until she paid for the work. At one point, Aaron even told her, "sorry you have a broken car," in a sarcastic and unprofessional manner instead of attempting to resolve the situation or provide actual customer service. This was easily the worst service department experience we have ever had. We will never return and will be filing a complaint with the State Attorney General. I will never forget you for making me wait for my vehicle in the service for an uncertain 4 days for a damn DEF part, and telling me every single day that I should come back tomorrow, causing me unplanned loss of time. They said that oil leaked into the DEF sensor and that my vehicle malfunctioned because it could not use DEF. They said, 'We do not have the appropriate part in stock, and I do not think there is anyone in the nearby region who sells this part.' After being without a vehicle for 4 days, they came up with a figure of over 1380 dollars for a shitty part and labor costs. EVEN IF WE PUT THOSE ASIDE, it is an irresponsible and dangerous service. I returned a second time to fix it and was told the transmission coolant lines were leaking. I had them fix it . a few months later I a check engine light came on I took my vehicle to another repair shop and the fluid was 1 1/2 qts over full. This was done by Rainier Dodge Service personnel. When we arrived, our test drive car was not waiting for us in front of the showroom. We had to walk 3-5 minutes to the back of the lot. I did ask, "Is this an episode of "Buried in the Backyard?" He didn't laugh. We have 48 cubit feet of storage in our Pathfinder. So we kept asking about cargo space. Vinny kept asking. "What do you need to haul around?" Like it was it was any of his business! We asked for cargo room measurements ( for cubic feet), they gave height and width (square feet). Dummies! We looked at the car and then Vinny drove the car in reverse half-way to front of the Showroom building We were NOT invited into the Showroom. So we "let ourselves in" We drove the vehicle and came back. My trade-in had a bad gear shifter. They deducted $4500 from my $5K trade-in value and offered us $500 ... Then Vinny was rude and disrespectful to my wife. We are a middle-class power couple. So Vinny took my "deets" and was going to process the money side of the deal. My Wife checked Vinny and offered her "deets" (we make $XXX ,000 + together) They came back with paltry offer. They asked no questions about past maintenance ( i rebuild the transmission last Summer for $9000 and it was $1300 to fix the shifter this summer ). A real waste of time. 1-Star Review Terrible Experience at Rainer Dodge of Olympia - Hidden Fees, Poor Communication, and Rude Service I dropped my vehicle off at Rainer Dodge on Monday, June 30th, for recall work, which should be free of charge. I also had a check engine light on and asked if it might be related to the recalls. I was told they couldn't even look at it without charging me. My dad had already replaced the coil pack, and they told me I was 10,000 miles overdue for spark plugs. I was considering a tire rotation, but they talked me into doing the spark plugs instead. I was originally told the three recalls would be done by the end of the day Tuesday, and that adding spark plugs would push completion to Wednesday. Wednesday came and went, and I was told the car was only halfway done. I asked for an ETA and received no clear response. I texted and called, left voicemails--no one got back to me. I had to go another full day without a car and make alternative transportation plans since they didn't have a loaner available. By Thursday, I asked if they could throw in the tire rotation for the inconvenience. When I picked up the car at 1:30 PM Thursday (a full day later than promised), they had charged me for the tire rotation anyway--hidden under "labor" for $10. They also charged me a $40 shop supply fee that was never disclosed to me, as well as an extra 3% credit card fee ($18). These extra charges were not part of the original estimate texted to me ($21.91), and they were only buried in a $621.69 revised estimate after I had already authorized the work via text. When I asked for clarification, I was told the $40 was for vague "shop supplies" like rags and brake cleaner, which they couldn't even clearly describe. In my opinion, these should be included in the cost of doing business--especially when performing recall-related work. The 3% credit card fee also felt like a hidden, nickel-and-dime charge. When I came to pick up the car and disputed these issues, I was treated rudely and unprofessionally. I asked to speak with the manager and was told he was on vacation--how convenient. The service advisor was incredibly dismissive, claimed they had always said Thursday (they hadn't), and actually told me I had "no leg to stand on." I purchased a 2010 Ram 2500 from Rainier Dodge on March 2, 2024, with just over 77,000 miles on it. I bought it in good faith, trusting that a reputable dealership would stand behind what they sell--especially when the vehicle was marketed as low-mileage, clean, and reliable. Unfortunately, that trust was completely misplaced Timeline of Events: * March 2, 2024 - Purchased 2010 Ram 2500 from Rainier Dodge (77,000 miles) * May 5, 2024 - Reported crankshaft/front cover seal leak and front differential pinion seal leak to dealership associate * September 2, 2024 - Truck broke down on the side of the road (catastrophic fuel injector failure) after only ~1,500+\- miles driven After only 1,500 miles of light use, the truck suffered a complete injector failure, resulting in a nearly $6,000 repair bill. This wasn't normal wear and tear--it was a major mechanical failure that simply should not happen so soon on a low-mileage diesel truck. At this point, I had barely driven the vehicle. It has spent more time in the shop than on the road. Even today, it's barely over 80,000 miles. When I contacted Rainier Dodge seeking support--not full coverage, just basic good faith assistance--the response I received from GM Casey Johnson was both dismissive and frustrating: "For situations like this, we aggressively push the added purchase of a service contract to our customers." I scheduled an appointment for a tire rotation and oil change. Even with the appointment it took them almost 3 hours. When we arrived the car was sitting on the lot with stickers on it that confirmed the price was 28k, I asked the salesman what the car was listed for and he pulled out his phone, I'm assuming pulled up the car online, looked at me and said "the price is correct we just did a recent price drop on this car." My boyfriend and I then decide to test drive the vehicle, after test driving it and deciding to pay the $500 deposit to "take the car off the lot" and come back the next day to pay cash. The salesman then decides to say "the car is actually 35k". So not only did they lie straight to our faces, they also committed false advertising as well as having NO desire to fix THEIR mistake. I will be contacting the state attorney general and better business bureau as false advertising is illegal. My locked Jeep was broken into while I was having it serviced. Theives broke my lock, stole several hundred dollars worth of stuff. They don't have cameras and made no attempt to make me whole. They have you sign a paper stating you are responsible for any theft or damage. SUCKS! Also, service contracts they sell don't cover diagnostics charge and they charged me extra for what should have been an easy fix calling it a diagnostic charge. Appointment was for 9:30am I checked in early at 9:15 I did not get my vehicle keys back in my hand till four hours later. I also was asked if I wanted my engine and cabin air filters 2 hours after they had taken my vehicle back to the shop. I still don't understand how this shop has yet to be investigated yet as there is no way they taking care of those people who are a paying by the hour. I work 60hrs a week, and I have kids and a mortgage; let's start there: I came in with an issue that required electrical/circuit work in the fuse box. My van did not have an issue before coming to Rainier Dodge. Before I came here, I went to another auto shop (Champion Auto in Lacey, WA), and they correctly diagnosed the issue while everything else was working. I then went to Rainier Dodge to fix the proprietary issue Champion Auto couldn't fix. Unfortunately, I left with a blinker light not working because no power passed through the circuit. I came in with a specific circuit issue, diagnosed by another shop, and left with the first issue resolved but with a new circuit issue to deal with. When I went to pick up the car, I told the worker I was expecting a new electrical/circuit issue to exist because of the hazards involved in fixing any electrical/circuit issue. Lo and behold, I got what I prophesized, and when I brought it up, I was told it would cost *more money* to diagnose the issue they caused. I never even left their parking lot. Before you accept any work they have completed, you must check out your entire vehicle, or you will get swindled! The worker who helped me seemed nice but said to my face that the circuit issue they worked on was resolved, but the new circuit issue that *now* exists costs more money to fix. This man's name is Bryan Surface. I wanted to believe he was a good man, but he said to my face that the *new* electrical issue would cost more money to diagnose; he left me out to dry after I paid more than $1800 in service charges. Very frustrating, I set up an appointment to have my Turbocharger replaced on my truck under warranty. I was notified my parts were in and was scheduled for the install on the 20th of September. I took my truck in at 7am and was told it would be done at the end of day. I got there at 2:45pm and asked if it was going to be ready at closing. The person who was assigned to keep me posted on the repairs said she would check. She came back and said, I am sorry but the mechanic the job he was on took was taking longer than expected. I am a business owner. If I couldn't get to a job that I was expected to be at, I would always call them and let them know I was behind. In my case the truck that I haul my equipment with was the truck that needed repair but was still drivable. All they had to say is I am sorry, but can you bring it in the next day, because we are running behind. They didn't do that and it cost me $1000 a day as I provide heavy equipment to my Customers. I bought my 2020 CPO 1500 Laramie on August 27, at the time of the sale I had asked about a couple things 1) the screen being unresponsive and 2) a big water spot on the roof of the truck. The screen I was told that the salesman would check with the tech people in service as it was a button. The water spot he said was from detailing and I could use baking soda to get it off. I made an appointment with service at a closer dealer and I pointed out the horrible detailing job since there was the roof issue with the water spots and then food found in the vehicle. The service department was like that is not from detailing that is from a leak. They confirmed then that the roof is leaking in 3 spots and the screen needs to be replaced on the vehicle, both issues since day ONE on the CPO. I decided at this point I'd call the dealership because I was frustrated. They offered to get me into a new vehicle which I'd loose several thousand dollars doing. I suggested that they extend the bumper to bumper warranty. I heard back today after I called the general sales manager Jeff again and he lost it on me. He was verbally aggressive on the call raising his voice, talking over me and saying I would not insult his staff or service department that they have amazing reviews and I wouldn't ruin or demand things. I don't usually take time to leave reviews (good or bad) but I am absolutely appalled that I trusted the service department to give me a fair and accurate diagnosis on my Jeep. I was quoted $150 for an hour of diagnostic work. They gave me different stories about what exactly the technician did to determine the recommendation. After questioning the validity of the work, they said they wouldn't charge me for a full hour. They offered me $20 off but also added an undisclosed and unauthorized $20 shop supply fee and still charged me $150 +tax. BUYER BEWARE!!! Pay attention to the bad reviews!!! When I went in to look at buying my 2018 Jeep I was told by the salesperson (Sam) that there was still a remaining manufacturers warranty of 3 yrs. Come to find out by the sales mgr that there was NO manufacturers warranty because the jeep was built and sold in Canada & the warranty does NOT transfer when the jeep is sold in the U.S. HOWEVER, because the salesperson told me there was a warranty they said they would honor it. I was told this by the Sales Mgr, the salesperson & the Finance Mgr (Lu). During the paperwork process the Finance Mgr repeatedly told me that they were honoring the warranty for 3 yrs but that I might want to buy an Extended Contract to cover my jeep for an addt'l 2 years. This is how they presented it to me and this is what I expected. It didn't dawn on me to ask them how they would honor it if I took the vehicle in for service (MY BAD). I am too trusting that these people would HONOR (their word) what they said. I should've asked for something in writing to back up their promise (I AM SO STUPID). I live in Vancouver, they are in Olympia. When I took my Jeep I then realized I hadn't gotten proof & ended up paying the deductible for the extended warranty I bought to have my jeep repaired. When I called them to point out that they had neglected to give me a way to prove the honoring of the warranty they of course pointed to the fact that all the paperwork is in order & legal (Spoke to Casey, Sales Mgr). They are right, it is, but DO NOT trust them by what they say - get it IN WRITING!!! I asked them to escalate it to the next boss and he said no, it was all legal in the paperwork. We have been trying to make a deal with Joe, the salesman for a week now and just gives us a run around... first off- very unprofessional with my husband and questioned his intelligence on SUVs( going to a Ram 1500 sport to a SUV) , last Monday wanted to make a deal so we agreed and then just giving us the run around if we're approved or not. Doesn't care to reach out to me, I HAVE to follow up with him just to get an answer and it's been Monday morning since we've been trying to make a deal !! Doesn't answer their phone for three to four hours. No call backs. I needed service for my engine light on and message was left. Four hours later still no message and two more calls were left. Being placed on hold is terrible but at least a voice saying please hold would have been reassuring. Nothing. It was either music or just four rings to being told to leave a message that wasn't return. Sorry. I left a message on a given day. That day the message should have been returned. Nothing! Nada. They must have enough business where they don't care if they treat future business like crap. If they treat their phone in business like crap I wonder how they treat the actual shop to fix the vehicle in question. I finally decided to trade a few minutes south, yes....Rainier Dodge.....I do have options, to the next dealer who ACTUALLY answered the phone. My truck will be in the shop tomorrow or Wednesday. Either way.....win for me over the Rainer Dodge option. I would still be calling for an appointment. read more

Traded in my Dodge Charger here, they said it wasn't worth more then 14k, I traded it in for a different vehicle they turned around and listed it for over 20k. I complained about the new vehicle I purchased had a peeling tent on the inside window, I asked them to fix, they set me up an apt and decided I could pay for it myself. You'd figure they would want to at least fix a tent on a vehicle you just purchased from them. Apparently not. My car salesman was very nice though. read more

Ridiculously difficult to deal with. Horrible customer service. Took me vehicle there for some warranty work. The job quoted 17 hrs for repair and they took over TWO WEEKS to complete it. Sure, some parts delays impacted that, but negligence more than anything was the top factor. On the first original appointment for an oil change and inspection, I was told to plan for 4 hours to wait for at, and it took 6. At the end of that appointment I was told the parts were approved and being ordered, and set up the appointment for the repairs to be a week and a half later. On the day repairs were supposed to start, in was told that it would probably only take 3-4 days, but we'll plan for 5, just in case there were any parts delays. On day 5, instead of getting the call to pick my vehicle up, I got the call saying the forgot to order an additional parts needed for the repair. So, now my truck has to sit there through the weekend. Hopefully the parts will arrive by Monday, but could be as late as Wednesday. Monday comes, no phone call. Tuesday comes, no phone call. Wednesday comes, I sent an email to both the service manager and general manager. No reply. 4 hours later I called to speak with the Service Manager. He was able to explain some reasons for the lengthy delay, but for the most part, an unproductive conversation. I was also told that some my concerns were trivial. We ended the day again with no vehicle. The next day, according to the service manager, the tech would be wrapping up the repairs early morning, test driving it and it should have been ready to go late morning/early afternoon. Again, no phone call, no update. I called early afternoon and was told that the tech was STILL working on it but repairs SHOULD be completed by the end of business that day. About 4 pm, the service writer calls and states that I will be unable to pick up my vehicle due to something that wasn't an issue to begin with, now leaking coolant and they will need to overnight that part. Friday, late morning, I get a phone call stating the leaking hose had been repaired, however NOW, one of the original repairs (timing cover gasket) had failed and was leaking oil. I asked why it wasn't noticed yhe day prior so we could have ordered the part then with the hose. She told me it just started leaking. (If it were truly a failed gasket, it would have immediately started leaking while it was on the day priors 40 mile test drive and under pressure). The repairs were "completed" Saturday and it was able to pick up the following Monday. Still having issues with one of my original repairs, and my the entire cab of my truck stinks line diesel whenever the vents run. The WORST experience ever! I've also sent two emails to the GM and have still been ignored by him. Will be writing Dodge corporate office and contacting my attorney. Garbage company! read more

i brought my dodge charger hemi to them several times. the last time was in july of 2021 and it was a nightmare!!!!!!! i was told repeatedly that it would be ready next week the mechanic that started working on it got covid... then fired the next mechanic did not want to touch it because he had no idea what they had done to it. it is the worst place ever to take your vehicle to the management does not have a clue how to work on vehicles my vehicle was left unprotected and got rusty... i was told it was surface rust. you do not treat a high-performance vehicle like the way they did. their prices are astronomical!!!!!!!! read more
