I ended up making an appointment at OCU because of all of the places I called, they were the only ones whose phone number went directly to the branch itself and was answered by a human. I was able to speak to someone right away and got an appointment set up for the same day. My meeting was with Jessica and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. We ended up spending three+ hours working out the details of my loan and I'm still not sure if this was overly long because Jessica never made me feel rushed or like I was an inconvenience at all. In fact, she was so genuine and warm that the experience was actually enjoyable. She answers all of my questions with knowledge and patience and made sure I really understood all of the fine print. Financially, I got the best deal I could have hoped for - with an APR so much lower than what I was quoted at even other credit unions that I am still kind of in shock. It was roughly a third of what [big bank] had offered as their "only if you have perfect credit history" rate. Jessica was flexible about what my payments and repayment term would be, working with me to ensure I could consistently afford them, and helped me choose the most workable payment date. I am confident and comfortable with this loan and know that, should I need any help or guidance, coming in or calling will be both a helpful and welcoming experience. Thank you, OCU. She's so professional & working with her always feels like talking to an old friend. Now about those 1 & 2 star reviews I see here? When I see an exchange from OCU to a troubled customer stating that the reason OCU exists is BECAUSE OF CUSTOMERS banking there that makes me say EXACTLY... too many banks do NOT get that... For a Saturday they were all so happy and ready to assist. We had to add my husband to my account first so we waited a few moments for a lobby rep. Thana (might have her name wrong) helped us with everything! She was so helpful and happy to help us out with our random requests. I loved that they were open on a Saturday and so willing to help. It was also a coworkers birthday and they all sang to her and were in great spirits. It definitely was a great environment and I felt very taken care of! The tone of the conversation was dismissive and lacked the courtesy and respect that customers deserve. Customer service should be built on professionalism, patience, and respect. Even when information cannot be provided, there is a respectful way to communicate that to customers. Based on this experience, I was left feeling frustrated and undervalued. I hope management reviews customer service standards and provides additional training to ensure future customers are treated with dignity and respect.

I have to transfer my money into a different bank because Heritage doesn't have branches in many places. Explaining things to Diana, she said "I have a simple answer". Within minutes she had it all sorted and the title company was satisfied. Her experience and knowledge really showed. Charles Schwab used to have a reputation for a customer first attitude. Apparently, that went into…read morethe trash with their acquisition of TD Ameritrade. Wanting to meet with them to deal with my existing accounts and open one with my daughter, I attempted to schedule an appointment. I used their online appointment request form a week ahead of my desired date. Although promised a 1-2 business day response, I never heard from anyone. So, the day before I wanted to meet, I attempted to call the office in Washington State where I was planning to go. My call ended up with a nice man in Tampa instead. He helped as much as he could and sent a message to the office I was trying to reach, asking them to contact me. They did not do that, and I had to cancel my plans with my daughter. I still have not heard back from them. I think they were not prepared for the huge increase in customers due to their acquisition of Ameritrade, especially after closing many offices over the past four years. Hopefully, the lawsuit to unwind this merger will succeed, but a resolution to that suit will still be years away. Meanwhile, I am shopping for a new place for my investments, because I can no longer trust Schwab to act in any competent manner.
