Integrity has disappeared. WSECU used to be trustworthy. But they're selling pet insurance and have claimed that such insurance will give pet owners peace of mind. However, the pet insurance company they are marketing and profiting from is Odie. Odie has an F rating on BBB, a horrible rating on Trust Pilot, and a miserable rating on Yelp! There are MANY unhappy clients of Odie, yet the credit union seems to brush this off as nearly meaningless, a thing of the past. I feel WSECU is misleading its loyal members to make money rather than serving the members' best interests. In my view WSECU should always be truthful, accurate, honest, perform due diligence on the insurance products they sell, and guide their members in making well informed decisions about insurance as they do in other areas of business. After decades of being a member, this credit union has lost my trust and respect. The board of directors has been informed. And please, no patronizing or insincere replies are needed here WSECU. read more

I'm writing this review to commend WSECU's commitment to CO-OP shared branches. Credit unions are a superior model to banks, but credit unions need to work together to serve their customers due to their smaller footprints. The CO-OP network is an example of working together to provide excellent value to members. However, some other credit unions have adopted a "branch-lite" model, introducing locations which they might call neighborhood centers or experience centers. These branches do not have tellers, do not carry cash, and do not act as shared branches. These credit unions and their members leverage the CO-OP network and the brick and mortar locations of other credit unions, but they do not reciprocate. I understand that physical locations and handling cash costs money. But it's hard to fathom why some of the largest credit unions in the nation cannot invest in providing such value to their own members when it's obviously still needed. That's why I'm grateful that, as far as I can tell, most (but not all) WSECU locations support shared branching functions, and they have real tellers to boot! read more

Products and services wise, they are mostly competitive with what's out there. What sets them apart is service. Every level of employee there from teller to CEO buys in with cult-like devotion. They might care more about your finances than you do. Also, you gotta love a financial institution willing to hire a CEO with the last name Swindler because the only way you're getting away with that is if you've got a stellar rep. I guarantee you'll never see it at Wells Fargo. It would be a little on the nose. read more

I have been a member of WSECU for 22 years. I got my very first credit card when I was 18, they helped me with my first car purchase (and a couple more since then), helped me deal with my account being hacked and the fraudulent charges, and have always went above and beyond the level of customer service that we're used to in this current day. I am a member of two other local credit unions and I can say without a doubt WSECU is number one. My most recent shout out I would like to give is to Debbie. I called in with an issue and she delivered service way beyond what was expected and contacted another department to help me correct an error that I had made that was no fault of theirs. I know that I would never have gotten this service from a Bank. Thank you so much to Debbie and WSECU and to their staff. If you're not a member already, you have been missing out. He was able to figure out a new way for me to pay my auto loan and help me set up online banking over the phone. I have been a WSECU member for almost a decade and have been extremely pleased. Their locations are nice, have ample parking, and the staff is always friendly, often going over 100% to make sure you're a satisfied customer. Their shared branching in the coop network is incredibly useful and they have ATM's all over town. I haven't used their mobile app, but their online banking site is way better than other credit unions I've been with. The only con is that they do not offer free business checking. read more

WSECU is great in general, but this branch is the best! The people here always go over the top to be helpful and try to answer questions honestly. Every time I've had an issue, they have always taken care of things immediately without ever being rude about it. They're compassionate and understanding. There are no hidden fees or little loop holes to manipulate you, and they initiative to protect the consumer. Definitely a customer for life. read more

Since WSECU implemented the latest version of online banking on 3/20/19, many customers, myself included, have been unable to access online bill pay. At this point it has been nine days and counting. Multiple calls to WSECU support have resulted in zero progress, so this a low priority issue for them. If the problem were occurring for more customers it would be higher priority probably, so I'm feeling quite under-valued. If you need a financial institution which values every one of its customers and that you can rely upon you should seek options other than WSECU. read more

I have never had any issues at this location which happens to be the headquarters. Always friendly tellers and there are usually free cookies/donuts/coffee. Also, there is a FREE parking garage for customers so don't you dare pay for public parking! read more

I have long banked with credit unions instead of for-profit-banks. Unfortunately too often credit unions that start off great end up being bought out or taken over by the profit minded. I have been consistently impressed with the quality of service and member-oriented attitude of WSECU. I am not a state employee, but I am married to somebody who is. I finally got an account at WSECU when my credit union disappointed me one too many times. They are always super nice, and have free coffee! :D read more

You can only use your rewards points on their own rewards website, not like BECU where you can use your points on Amazon. Not to mention their rewards points website doesn't even work! It doesn't load on firefox, chrome or safari browsers. It literally is a broken domain name and not a real website. How pointless is that? No pun intended. What real waste. I can't wait to switch my checking and savings account. I guess I'll have to wait until Monday though to speak with anyone on the phone. read more

I was a member of WSECU for almost 30 years. Never had a problem with the folks in the front office or tellers, etc. Their mortgage dept is absolutely horrible! This dept is just a black eye on the entire credit union. I refinanced my house about 10 years ago and the loan officer was really loony, but we managed to finish the refi with only a few minor problems. Then when I tried to refinance a house a year or two ago, the loan officer was a total snarky witch, refused to send my appraisal, which I paid for, and treated me like a criminal because I had the audacity to challenge this appraisal. I complained to her supervisor, who was just as bad as the loan officer. Run don't walk from this dept! read more

My recent experience with loan dept makes me wonder why. applied to their online loan application, didn't hear from a human for almost two weeks. finally I call credit union and ask if they wouldn't like some supporting loan documentation? was told the person assigned to me was out of office. this seemed to happen a lot. also heard frequently how busy they were but only when I actually called for a status update. sometimes I would contact loan officer and she would call my husband back instead of me even when I left my contact information - that is if she bothered to call back or contact me at all. Never saw a good faith estimate or any explanation of program at all. My husband had somewhat better luck. If this is how long time members are treated how do you expect to attract new members? asking myself why don't just join BECU since im not even a state employee any longer. Cannot recommend going here for home loan or HELOC having had both. BTW still waiting for that call back telling me how to access the funds from my loan - had much better success getting help by calling the 1 800 number read more

Let me start off by saying I have NEVER had any customer service issue any where I go, every place I go employees are so professional, nice, VERY CLEAR communication etc. but for some reason this bank 330 Union Ave that's located in Olympia in the member solutions department have some of the most down right rudest people I have ever come across! Jessica talks to you as if you're a just a complete burden an has no time for you, Kristi is her level two minion with how she treats you as well their communication down right sucks they tell you one thing an when you come back to connect with them on your last conversation they act as if they NEVER said it an make you think you're literally the crazy insane one for thinking what you're thinking or for even bringing up the conversation. Their choice of words an the tone behind their words make you feel so less than an yet their suppose to be MEMBER SOLUTIONS who are suppose to be there to help you an come up with solutions to resolve problems I have YET to have a good experience with them, they are so disrespectful its sickening. You would think with the position titles they hold they would be a little more caring with there customers. But I would like to say I absolutely love the bank tellers that work in the 4245 Martin Way they are so nice an understanding an willing to help an go out their way.
