Burger and onion rings
Athene D.

Stopped into town for ice cream but ended up stumbling across this place and I'm so glad we did! It's the kind of classic, no-frills spot where you can grab a cold beer, catch a game, and dig into some seriously satisfying comfort food. The vibe is laid-back and welcoming. Every server we interacted with was smiling and genuinely friendly. It really added to the atmosphere. You can tell the staff enjoys working there, and that kind of energy is infectious. Now, the food: the burger was exactly what I crave when I think of a good, old-fashioned burger. Nothing over-complicated, just juicy, well-seasoned beef, melted cheese, and a toasted bun. It was cooked just right, with that perfect balance of savory and juicy. Simple, but executed beautifully. On the side? Two absolutely gigantic onion rings that were golden, crispy, and sweet. The batter had a light crunch without being greasy, and the onions inside were tender and flavorful. Basically onion ring perfection. The mozzarella sticks were another standout. Hot, gooey, and with a satisfying cheese pull that was honestly Instagram-worthy. Crispy on the outside, melty on the inside. Exactly how they should be. I wouldn't recommend the cocktails. They were trying too hard with a fancy mixology vibe that didn't quite land. But the beer? Cold, refreshing, and just right with the food and the atmosphere. Why go? If you're looking for a relaxed spot to hang out, enjoy a game, and eat some really solid comfort food, this place delivers. It's the kind of place you leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit.

Ambiance: Happening place on Cole street, lot of seating giving bar vibes Service: Very friendly staff and food came out decently quick Food: we tried the Calamari, onion rings, Thai salad, and burgers. Dessert was sizzling brownie with ice cream, YUMMM! The onion rings stood out, very tasty and crispy not too oily. Food was overall very nice.

Coconut curry muscles...EVERY TIME!!!!! Add a Mac & Jacks to make it complete. In and out in 45 minutes as it was before the dinner rush. Highly recommend the salmon salad too...it's my second favorite.

Stopped in over the weekend after hiking in Rainier. We wanted a place where we could sit down and order food/beer. It was pretty busy, but we had no trouble grabbing two seats at the bar. The interior is fairly standard bar decor and they had several TVs on. Our bartender was quick to get us drinks and menus and even offered a sample of one of the beers I was interested in. This was especially appreciated because she was definitely very busy. We both ordered burgers and while they weren't medium as requested (more medium-well/well done) the flavor was good. I'm much less worried about the burger being a bit over when the flavor and juiciness are still there. Bonus points for offering tater tots as a side option. Really happy with our experience and wouldn't hesitate to come again when we're in the area.

Once my friends and I arrived, it was a "seat yourself" type of place so we picked the first open table. It took about 5-8 minutes before being given menus. The server was pretty attentive and gave us enough time to look over the menu. The chicken caesar wrap is pretty underwhelming and the onion rings had barely any flavor. The clam chowder and chili was great though, made me regret not buying a big bowl of soup. Once the server came back around to ask if we need boxes, we only requested one but she persisted on giving us two, which I thought was a bit odd. Overall, the food that night was mediocre. Ambiance was nice, warm, and cozy.

Tonight I visited Rainier bar and Grill with my wife, the service was amazing Conner did a great job getting our drinks ordered and served quickly. Although it took about 30 minutes after ordering for us to get our food. The wait was well worth it, everything tasted great and was hot and fresh. One thing that was less than desirable was having to pay extra to get onion rings as a side(which is no issue) and only receiving two rings, which is a bummer because they were delicious. My burger was cooked exactly how I asked (some pink) and the fries were good. The drinks were definitely served with a heavy poor and very fast for any refills. The atmosphere is great, it's an old school PNW rustic bar that is inviting for the whole family. The show stopper was hands down the caramel brownie on the skillet, it was served with ice cream and piping hot caramel and was well worth the visit we absolutely recommend.

There were approximately 15 people in the bar and two bartenders working (one male, one female). Despite the low volume, they had no control of the room and kept switching positions behind the bar while the situation steadily deteriorated. Multiple patrons were clearly and excessively over-served. One young woman was passed out unconscious in the bathroom. The man she was with asked the bartender to check on her, and the female bartender refused. Had other patrons not stepped in, that woman could have woken up alone, scared, and locked inside a closed bar. That is not just negligence--it is a serious safety violation. The male bartender was drinking alcohol while working and actively encouraging violence. He continued serving an obviously intoxicated man while instigating him, telling him he could beat up another customer. This happened openly, in front of the bar, with zero concern for consequences. Two patrons who were actually helping de-escalate situations and looking out for others' safety were 86'd and treated poorly, while the real problems were ignored. Meanwhile, the female bartender was encouraging her boyfriend to fight other patrons, and the male bartender joined in by antagonizing already drunk customers. One confrontation stemmed from a customer simply asking for a real glass instead of a plastic one. This is not a "rough night." This is gross incompetence and reckless behavior behind the bar. Over-serving, refusing to check on an unconscious patron, drinking on the job, and encouraging fights are exactly the kinds of violations the liquor board takes very seriously. If you are the owner, consider this a warning you should be grateful this came through as a review and not an official complaint. Because what happened Saturday night is absolutely the type of situation that gets reported, investigated, and documented. These bartenders should not be working unsupervised--if at all. They put patrons at risk and put your business directly in the crosshairs of regulators. The customers who were 86'd while trying to keep people safe should be allowed back. The staff responsible for this behavior should be removed before someone gets hurt and your liquor license becomes a discussion instead of a guarantee. This bar doesn't just need better service--it needs better judgment behind the bar. Immediately.

Fine, but took her Washington State ID down to another bartender to look at it for 5 minutes. I asked her what was taking so long and she pouted and said it was a non-standard ID. Huh? You're a barrender and never seen a non-druver WA ID before. We left to find a more friendly bar down the street.

Solid 3.5 overall…read more We like this place but I probably ordered the wrong thing on the menu - the vermicelli bowl with peanut sauce and the nuac Cham sauce. While the salmon BLT and grilled turkey sandwiches were fine, the bowl was not. The nuac Cham sauce had no fish sauce or taste and the peanut sauce did not taste like peanut sauce and was super thick. It was a bit weird with pickles at the bottom. Normally, the dish has jalapeño and the cucumbers are cut in strips v. Slices. The noodles seemed overcooked. The Portions are decent. We give the sandwiches 4 stars but the bowl is a 3 for taste. Everything else is good- service, average noise. Street parking but fairly easy to find a spot close by.

The poutine is what we started with, the fries were piping hot, the gravy was rich and delicious, and did I mention there was bacon jam in there? Since we had the poutine as an appetizer, we opted to get salads instead of the side fries for our burgers and sandwiches. I have to admit this is one of the most impressive side salads I've ever had. The greens were so fresh! On special they had their homemade clam chowder which checked all the boxes, it had a great balance of meat to potato to herb. I will be dreaming about this for the rest of my life. If you see it on special you need to get it. My group ordered the mushroom burger, the the bacon jamburger, and the French dip which we split three ways. And when I tell you we fought over keeping our own. I am not lying. The burgers were juicy, the toppings were generous and well balanced. The French dip had roast beef that just melted in your mouth. For the first time. I don't think I needed the au jus. One of my party ordered the truffle gnocchi with wild mushrooms. I don't know how, but it was somehow light, not too rich, and the gnocchi soft pillows had the perfect fluffy texture. We did have to take most of our food home because the portions were generous. And somehow the gnocchi reheated. Well. I'm going to call that a miracle. All in all, if you're anywhere near Enumclaw you need to go here. We made the trip from Puyallup because my dad could not stop raving about the poutine. Next time I'm in town. I will be back!

PEOPLE OF EARTH: If you haven't experienced the pure chaos that is Boots Tavern, you're living in…read morethe shadow realm of hospitality. This establishment doesn't just serve drinks--they serve EXPERIENCES, specifically soundtracked by an endless loop of Smash Mouth, Avril Lavigne, and *NSYNC that would make Carson Daly weep tears of frosted-tipped joy. The bartenders here don't just pour drinks--they're like spiritual guides through the realm of grain alcohol enlightenment. They've got stuff so potent it could strip paint off a submarine, and they serve it with the kind of confidence usually reserved for bomb disposal experts. Their signature drink, "The Y2K Bug," comes with a mandatory signing of medical release forms and a brief consultation with your next of kin. But let's talk about their commitment to the early 2000s pop music scene. The jukebox exists in a temporal loop where it's perpetually 2003. "All Star" plays every 47 minutes with the precision of an atomic clock. I once witnessed a group of investment bankers completely lose it during "Bye Bye Bye," performing the original choreography with such passion that Justin Timberlake probably felt a disturbance in the force. The weekly karaoke nights are the stuff of local legend. Every Thursday, the entire bar transforms into what I can only describe as "American Idol meets Thunder Dome." Last week, someone performed Britney's "Oops!... I Did It Again" while dressed as a fully-operational vending machine. The crowd went so wild they had to replace three load-bearing walls the next day. The regulars here have developed their own bizarre ecosystem. There's a group that shows up every Tuesday wearing matching bedazzled jumpsuits, and nobody questions it. The staff has started timing their drink service to the exact moment Christina Aguilera hits the high note in "Beautiful." Five stars. Would absolutely risk permanent hearing damage from singing along to "Who Let The Dogs Out" for the 47th time while sipping something that could probably power a jet engine. Just remember to bring your flame-retardant crop top and your signed liability waiver. P.S. The bathroom graffiti is exclusively written in boy band lyrics. It's basically a museum at this point.

Our drinks were almost the same price as the food, and the total came out close to $100 (with tip and taxes), not worth it in my opinion. I don't mind paying more if the flavors are exceptional, but here it felt like we were just paying Mercer Island prices rather than for standout food. Crawspace Wings (Garlic Buffalo): The food came out very quickly, which usually makes me question how fresh it is. It tasted like it may have been prepped ahead of time and reheated, then tossed in sauce. There was no real garlic flavor, just standard buffalo. Mac Salad: This tasted a bit off, almost like it had been sitting for a while. I don't mind that it's served cold since that's expected, but the flavor was bland and underwhelming. Bulgogi Tacos: The portion of meat was generous, which I appreciated. However, the meat itself was quite salty. Based on other reviews, it seems like the flavor can swing between too sweet or too salty. Either way, it feels overpriced for what you get. Lilikoi Mai Tai: This drink leaned heavily on a nutty flavor, with very little passion fruit coming through. For an island-style cocktail, I expected it to be a bit sweeter and more vibrant, but that wasn't the case. Overall, it missed the mark and wasn't very enjoyable. I wouldn't recommend it unless you specifically prefer a nuttier profile, similar to a Long Island style drink. Overall, I wouldn't return. The pricing doesn't align with the quality or execution.
