Upon inquiring, Nick graciously said he would sell the pot to us as it was no longer available and it was unknown when another delivery would be made from that particular distributor (if ever as it came from China). Nick and his staff disassembled the pot from its reservoir and neatly packed it into our SUV. Here is an update that shows the beautiful pot/fountain at its new home. Found this nursery through Facebook Marketplace. After a few weeks of research, I believe this…read moreplace had the cheapest price and value for the type of fruit plants I was looking for. I contacted through FB Messenger (Bill?) as well as text messages. After a hour drive, I ended up with a rio red grapefruit, oro blanco grapefruit, hass avocado, olallieberry and blueberry plants. I was told by Bill that the olallieberry grows good since I was looking for another berry plant. In person, I was slightly disappointed because it didn't have any flower or fruit but my girlfriend encouraged me to just get it. I'm hoping it will show signs of fruiting soon because my blackberry and blueberry plants are already fruiting. All 5 plants still needed a little bit of pruning at home because some or part of the leaves were eaten by unknown pests. Ended up with 4 mosquito bites as well. My only complaint would be the employee there didn't speak or understand much English. The good thing was another customer arrived shortly after, spoke Spanish and helped us translate. GPS to the address was correct for the most part except where it ends. It will take you to a locked gate just a little bit past the orange cones. Instead of following GPS all the way to the end, look for the orange cones and park on the dirt road to the side. The orange cones is where the entrance is at. I may be back for other fruit plants in the future.

It is way more than just a plant nursery. My husband and I like to come here on Sunday mornings and just sit by the ponds to just unplug , relax, and listen to the sounds of nature. It is such a good getaway from the over stimulization of everyday life. You can come here and just walk through all the pretty flowers and plants or have a picnic on their many picnic tables. You can buy fish food from the front desk to feed the fishes and turtles in the pond. On every first Saturday of every month they have "free succulent Saturday" which is a local makers market with all kind of different treasures. Every adult can get a pick of a succulent and they are a decent size! I was surprised! They also do kids crafts and have food and drinks for sell. I would also follow their Instagram as they have classes throughout the year. All in all, Waterwise is a place you surely do not want to skip out on if you like nature, plants,free things to do, or just looking for something the whole family could enjoy!

The kid that ended up helping us was friendly and very patient while I asked questions. I ended up going into the nursery (my favorite spot) to pick up a couple more plants and even got a few avocados at checkout. Had a good selection, especially monsteras, philodendrons, plumerias, Hoyas and desert roses. The owner's father assisted me and was very friendly and helpful. I left with a few nice healthy plants. Negative- I don't like nursery/shops that don't list the prices. They can take a sharpie and write on the pots or make a sign but you have to ask what each one costs and I feel at that point they can tell you any price they want. I am from the Los Angeles area and after visiting multiple plant shops and nurseries in the SD area (I'm a plant addict with approx 350 tropicals and another 200 in succulents), I find the shops in SD area are double or more than what plants would go for in Los Angeles nurseries/shops. Maybe it's just the area as I found the same situation in SF. So maybe compared to shops in the SD area, the nurseries here offer decent prices, but not worth it for me to drive the 2 hrs as I'm not saving any. For example, the varigated monstera adansonii I was told is $250 here, but I got one the same size in LA for $80. I got the varigated plumeria here for $100 and then saw one bigger in Los Angeles for $65. But if you don't care about the price and just want a rare plant you may not find elsewhere, then this is a good spot.
