    First walking into the nursery.

Just wanted to share prices have raised since my review. As they are exact cash only.

Pretty area lots of plants, different times due to covid. But prices vary. Some stuff seems pricey, other stuff super cheap. Fruit trees are cheap for sure. Fun to look around, worth the drive and experience !

Wow this is truly one of Temecula's secrets. If the plants and trees in your yard don't look as healthy and beautiful as mine then I gonna tell you a secret. The catch is that you have to share it. I found this wonderful nursery on Craigslist kind of thought it was out of the way but it really wasn't. When I first went I was overwhelmed with the beauty and the quality of plants that was at this Nursery. Rosalind and her husband have been running this nursery for years and every plant on the property she has knowledge of. And she's not going to sell you something that she wouldn't use herself. If you haven't been here I definitely would recommend that you take a trip. All the plants trees and succulents are way below cost. If you paid $25 at Home Depot or Lowe's or your local plant nursery in Temecula or Riverside than you paid too much. I was so shocked to find that her fruit trees were only $11.99. And they are not little twigs. Full grown plants. Rosiland and the staff are very nice, professional and exceptionally knowledgeable on plants. This is something that you have to experience on your own. My words cannot express what you will have to find out. This is a copy of the add on Craigslist ie. Probably best to call and make sure the gates will be open before you make the trip (760-990-4762). The selection of plants is a bit overwhelming. One could easily buy a truck load. I wish the plants were better marked, I would have probably bought more. They are not priced either (there is a general price guide but limited)but if you can get one of the owners to walk with you to the plants in question, they will provide a wealth of information. I think they are probably more geared to wholesale sales to landscape professionals than to small garden hobbyists like myself. The prices are not give away, but very fair. In addition I got some kind of discount that was worth 15%, and to top it all off I got a gift plant priced at $15. The next location will be Yucca Valley, quite a bit further than my current one hour drive.

Unfortunately, my interaction with Planet Desert was marked by an unfriendly and unhelpful attitude from the start. I reached out in hopes of sourcing a specific cactus and exploring wholesale opportunities, but any attempt at discussion was met with what felt like complete indifference. I fully understand that not every plant qualifies for wholesale pricing, and that is ultimately a business decision. My disappointment stems not from the answer itself, but from the manner in which the conversation was handled. Customer service matters, and in this case it was noticeably lacking. The cactus and succulent industry is fortunate to have countless knowledgeable, professional, and welcoming growers, particularly throughout California and the Southwest, who genuinely value relationships and customer service. After this experience, I will be taking my business elsewhere. If you appreciate working with suppliers who are courteous, approachable, and interested in building long-term relationships, I would recommend looking at other options before choosing Planet Desert. I wish them the best, but I won't return. No one should give anyone money to be treated with indifference.

I drove 2 hrs to visit this nursery and a couple others in the area. If you're seeking rare…read moretropicals you typically wouldn't find at other nurseries, this is a good place. Had a good selection, especially monsteras, philodendrons, plumerias, Hoyas and desert roses. The owner's father assisted me and was very friendly and helpful. I left with a few nice healthy plants. Negative- I don't like nursery/shops that don't list the prices. They can take a sharpie and write on the pots or make a sign but you have to ask what each one costs and I feel at that point they can tell you any price they want. I am from the Los Angeles area and after visiting multiple plant shops and nurseries in the SD area (I'm a plant addict with approx 350 tropicals and another 200 in succulents), I find the shops in SD area are double or more than what plants would go for in Los Angeles nurseries/shops. Maybe it's just the area as I found the same situation in SF. So maybe compared to shops in the SD area, the nurseries here offer decent prices, but not worth it for me to drive the 2 hrs as I'm not saving any. For example, the varigated monstera adansonii I was told is $250 here, but I got one the same size in LA for $80. I got the varigated plumeria here for $100 and then saw one bigger in Los Angeles for $65. But if you don't care about the price and just want a rare plant you may not find elsewhere, then this is a good spot.
