Fish tasted so fresh and flavorful. Hands down best sushi I've tremors in Bel Air. Will definitely be ordering from here again. read more

Rainbow King - No.99 and Dinosaur Eggs. - Japanese Near Me - Bel Air, Maryland

Great Chinese Food Great Japanese Food Great Treats from Singapore Friendly Staff Clean Please do yourself a favor and eat here. Order the beef noodle soup. The ramen and pho were pretty good but the beef noodle soup is arguably the best thing to eat in all of Hartford county. Also the curry chicken is amazing! It comes in a Korean stone bowl so it's really really hot (temperature wise not spice) and is surprisingly sweet. Oh and the udon was incredible, it had a wonderful smoky taste and avoided (unlike most places that do Asian noodle dishes) the oily/slimy consistency. Also the sushi is very fresh. Do yourself a favor and go there now! read more

I came here on a Sunday and sadly no lunch special. I had a few rolls. Minimal flavor and the wasabi was too mild. Servers were okay, but English is not their first language. Free appetizer was just ok. 3 slices of a cooked and fried sushi roll. Came back the next Saturday and for the lunch specials. I got three rolls. Sadly they don't allow you to get the same roll. I got three spicy tuna, eel cucumber, salmon avocado. They were tasty and filling. We also got the vegetable tempura. They used weird vegetable and i didn't like the batter. They had mushrooms, asparagus, huge broccoli in addition to the more typical potato and onion. The amount of dipping sauce was also minimal. Overall ok for the lunch special. read more

Tried this for the first time for my birthday dinner. Two families went and had children ranging from 1 - 13. A total of 9 people were in our group and they had no problem accommodating. We had made reservations online and they called to make sure the reservation was accurate. The food was good and they had a lot of variety on the menu. I can see coming back because of the many choices and nothing I ate tasted bad. The place was very clean and an added bonus was the two of us with birthdays got free dessert. read more

I thought it was funny that I needed a reservation set days in advance to show up and see that there was exactly one other family dining inside at my time of arrival. Despite that, the staff was friendly and the food was great. read more

We had a very enjoyable meal. Tried four different sushi rolls - dragon, yum-yum, salmon and geisha rolls. All very delicious and well prepared. Our group also enjoyed beef and chicken curry which were a bit on spicy side but still good Servers were very attentive. Hope they can get licensed soon because sushi is so much nicer with sake or a cold Asahi beer. read more

So my boyfriend and I order from them likely weekly at this point. We've had their sushi (volcano roll ), pad thai, fried rice, pho, general tso's, curry, all of it. Everything is amazing. We are very into asian cuisine, and have tried several places around the Bel air area, nothing compares to the wide selection and quality of Rainbow King. Added bonus: 90% of time we order delivery and they are ALWAYS earlier than the expected time. Granted we do live close, but literally within 35min TOPS we have our food. We don't plan on looking for another go-to Asian restaurant. Would love to shake the owner and head chefs hand at a business well done. Even their front line staff is so sweet. read more

The sushi is delicious and the staff are exceptionally friendly and quick. Great for sushi lunch. Other non-sushi items like "pho" and yakitori are not good and I don't recommend them. read more

Rainbow King is one of my favorite places to get sushi in Bel Air. Their specialty rolls are extremely good! I find it best to get take-out because it the service is rather slow. My friends and I went in and were the only ones in the restaurant and it took about hour for our food to come. Besides the slow service, the food is delicious! read more

Stopped in for lunch less than a month after they opened. The décor is a step up from the previous establishment. The staff were friendly and attentive. Ordered sushi and a chicken lunch special. Both were great. The prices were good. Even received a free roll from the chef which was fantastic. Overall a great experience. I will be back. read more

Overall (5 stars): I'm convinced this place is the absolute best sushi you can get in Hardford County under $50. The fish here is incredibly fresh and each piece just melts in your mouth. I love that their sashimi entree($23.95) offers with soup and salad w. 20pcs of fish. The salmon in particular had such a clean finish but honestly each piece was top notch. It can be quite hard to secure a table here without a reservation so make one early or come at the first seating/end of the night. read more

Not good at all! Took forever for them to bring out our food! My soups was cold and she brung it back into the kitchen . Then forgot and end up giving it to me when I was already down eating. Food was either too salty or no flavor . She got out order wrong too. Second time here . First time is when they first open and thought maybe it would be better . Never again read more

I've only been once. Once was enough for me to know I'll be back. They have lots of options for vegetarian and vegan sushi (which was the initial draw). Service was accurate (if a little slow). Nice atmosphere. Definitely a keeper. read more

In my experience, these Asian fusion places are usually just okay for one type of cuisine. For instance, they may do Thai food okay but the sushi is lacking. Rainbow King is an exception. Everything we've tried has been excellent. The Orange Chicken is personal favorite (a little heat and lots of fresh orange flavor) but I always need sushi too. My biggest problem with this place is that I can't order everything at once. Also, they deliver!!! read more

Walked in today during lunch time and was the only patron. I was greeted promptly by a bubbly hostess and my server (David) arrived right after I was sat. Ordered 3 rolls: Salmon Avocado Eel Cucumber Spicy Tuna All food was excellent. Came out in about 8 minutes. The server made sure to ask how the food was and engaged further about the eel - citing it was his favorite. I was in and out in under 30 minutes. Food was great. Service was excellent. Price was about $12. read more

Probably the best HOT and Sour soup ever! Made fresh and delicious. Orange chicken is also delightful . Nice wait staff and relaxing atmosphere. read more

Went to the Rainbow King for the first time to celebrate my sons birthday Saturday. What a great experience. The service was perfect. The server was very attentive and so polite and kind. The food was delicious. We all got something different (5 of us) and everyone love their choice. The restaurant was very clean and comfortable and very pleasant decor. Glad we tried Rainbow King and will be going back soon. read more

Sushi was spot on! And delivery - what else could we ask for. We ordered Belair roll- dynamite roll and a few apps to share. Rolls were def the highlight and will be ordering again! read more

This is like my favorite place to eat. The wait staff is awesome the food is awesome the prices are better. Way better than chopstix of zen16. If you are going to choose a place to eat sushi or Chinese food this is the place. They have good specialty rolls, really good soups and their dinners are more than enough for one person. It will be your new favorite read more

Rainbow King has become a go-to spot for my husband and I! Their food choices are wonderful, and we've become such regulars that some of the staff know our regular order at this point. Excellent restaurant! read more

Under the blurb at the end of the reviews stating "7 other reviews not currently recommended", there are 6 excellent rated reviews. Please do not think that the "not currently recommended" reviews are bad reviews. They are not! Fantastic sushi!!! Very fresh & dee-licious. This is my #1 sushi go-to. Have been here several times & have never been disappointed. They always include a free cooked sushi appetizer which I love (I normally go for the raw sushi/sashimi). I ordered the Pad Thai from the lunch menu on one visit & thought it was wonderful. Was surprised as the only place I have ever really enjoyed it is at a tiny hole-in-the-wall place (only 4 tables) on Harford Road inside the city limits. I almost gave up on getting good Pad Thai elsewhere. Rainbow King's is just as good & the serving was very generous for a lunch special. You must try this new restaurant! The staff is very friendly & accommodating. The restaurant atmosphere is soothing & pleasant. Also very clean. If you love sushi, Japanese bistro, Thai & anything in-between, this is the place to eat. You will not be disappointed. read more

Local, overpriced Japanese carry out. It smells better than it taste. The food was bland. I ordered the hibachi shrimp lunch "special". Definitely a lunch sized portion for a dinner price. I ordered fried rice with my meal and the egg in it was stringy and thick like gum. Their yum yum sauce is spicy, which is unusual. The food was simply ok. read more

Don't get the pho...been trying to find decent pho in Bel Air (despite the lack of an authentic Vietnamese place) and Thai Spice seems to be the only decent option. Rainbow Kong's Pho smelled & tasted funky, was very cloudy & opaque, made me feel not so good. I wanted to like it. Maybe will come back and try their other, non-pho food another day. read more

This place was great. I had the Philly roll and the diamond roll. Super good. Our server even came up and was asking about the different sushi places we ate at. Very nice service. read more

The food tasted fine and the service was good, but I was sick (and I mean really sick) for 3 days after eating there.

I would consider this place a very good sushi shop. Very fresh and creative sushi. The owner is very nice and the service is prompt.

I have been here twice so far. I love sushi and always check new places to compare and find the ultimate "go to". For Bel Air, Rainbow King is definitely my "go to". Their selection of specialty rolls is amazing! Presentation and flavor always top notch. Don't be discouraged by the fact the the actual restaurant is not packed to the gills. From what I understand, many locals order out. Go in and try it for yourself. You will be glad you did! read more

Great food for the price. Sushi was fresh and felt like I got my money's worth. Hibachi food was also great.

My family and I were just here for dinner. We had edamame for an appetizer and it was very good and very fresh. My sons and I got sushi which was some of the best we have had. Our normal go to is Johnny's but this is closer and just as good. My husband got the chicken curry which was amazing as well. Everything had a beautiful presentation and they even bring you hot towels that have an alluring scent. The service was very friendly and eager to please. Also, they gave us a free sushi appetizer that was very good. Oh and check out their iced green tea. It was different than I'm used but I loved it!! We were all very happy with our experience here and we will definitely be back! read more

Very good meal, wonderful staff, and a great value. I had the Doublecrab, Belair and Geisha along with a complimentary "Perfect". All for $41 including refreshments. I will look forward to me next visit. read more

We always get great service. I'm vegetarian and often struggle to eat more than just spring rolls, avocado sushi, and veggie tempura at most Japanese places. There's more on the menu here, soup, some tofu dishes and noodle dishes, a few appetizers and THIRTEEN vegetarian rolls and that's not even everything. Seafood sushi is good too, per everyone I've dined with here. They've got a liquor license, which is nice, with asian beers, saki, and cocktails. Presentation can be flamboyant and fantastic too. read more

Generals chicken was fried so hard it was inedible and the sushi rolls are much smaller than normal

Our favorite sushi/ Chinese restaurant around. Not only does every roll taste delicious and fresh, the presentations are beautiful. Wait staff is always very attentive and make great recommendations. The owner is so friendly and appreciative of your business. We love the American Dream and Lovely Couple (waiter recommended) rolls, as well as the sesame chicken. read more
