We have been very pleased with Rain Mizer. We were in shock and highly annoyed after getting a quote from Leaf Guard. Leaf Guard gave us an estimate for around $3,000 and tried to pressure us to agree the same day they were at our home. I told them we didn't have that kind of money, and would get other estimates. I left a review over a month ago saying that we'd been waiting two weeks and still had not received a quote from Rain Mizer. Since then, we were contacted by David, the owner with a quote and we subsequently scheduled the work. David explained why there was a delay and his explanation made sense and I was satisfied with it. His tech came out and started work and we then discovered some issues that the roofer (recently installed roof) had to rectify. Rain Mizer had to stop work while we worked with the roofer. After the roof was rectified, and some back and forth, we were able to schedule Rain Mizer to come back out to finish their work. It was done in a couple of hours. David, after the initial delay, was responsive and answers calls and emails promptly. There is rain the next few days here in Houston so I'm glad we got the gutters in. When I was looking for gutter installation, I had four estimates given from various companies including this one, and Rain Mizer was not only the best, but they were the most personable and easy to talk to. Every time I spoke on the phone it was with the same person who came and took my estimate. They worked with us on our requests, scheduling and installation method. The estimate process is more professional than our previous ones. Price is reasonable and we got our gutters installed a little over a week after the estimate. I would give 5 stars but during the installation process some areas of our house got some scruff marks and wooden trims got chipped at the front of the house. read more

I contacted Rain Mizer through Yelp last Monday to get a quote on a full new gutter system for my home. I got an initial response relatively quickly, with an email from Theresa on Tuesday morning. Her email said that hours for quotes were M-F 10-4, and asked when would work for me to set up a quote. I responded within an hour and a half, giving very wide windows on Wednesday and Thursday when I would be available to meet an estimator. She responded at the end of the day that it would have to be the following week (this coming week) because she was so busy. On Wednesday, I again replied with very wide windows of availability on Monday-Wednesday this coming week. I still haven't gotten a response, and that was 5 days ago. I understand when a company gets busy - that's a great problem to have! What's not so great is to imply availability (like in Theresa's first email), then respond somewhat shortly that they aren't available for another week when a customer tries to schedule during that implied availability, and then go radio silent when that customer offers several other times that presumably would work better for the company. By comparison, a competing company (who I also contacted on Monday) called me Tuesday morning and sent an estimator out on Wednesday. Update: To Theresa's credit, she did reach out via email and phone, about a week or so after I posted this review. Unfortunately, that doesn't change the negative experience I've had, or my decision to go with another company. read more

As an earlier review stated, the bar had been set very high. Again, they did not disappoint. The crew arrived when scheduled and began work promptly. Theresa came out quickly after my initial contact and gave me a detailed quote, laying out the plan and drawing of what would be done based upon what I wanted -- I needed gutters installed both on the upper and lower roof areas so it was a major job. On the scheduled date, they arrived, went right to work and did so professionally. The installers answered all my questions and were sensitive to the desired placement of the downspouts to ensure minimal impact to the look of the house. The gutter color works great and Theresa assisted me in selecting the proper gutter color. The pricing was reasonable and given the quality of work, it is better than I initially thought. We live in an older 1964 home that has a bit of a funky roofline and style-wise it wasn't really designed with gutters in mind. When we moved in there was basically no landscaping in front so we had the whole front completely landscaped with all new beds. Well after the first hard rain we ended up with a lot of our mulch and dirt washed away from the intense waterfalls coming off the roof and pummeling the beds. Theresa's was one of a few quotes we received. She arrived early, was very courteous and professional, and I explained that we were very concerned how gutters would look on our particular house. We walked the perimeter of the house, we discussed options, and the colors she had looked like a great match to our paint. The funky roof angles and how they come together at certain points created a challenge but she said she could handle that, too. A week or so later they did the install. It was very quick and once gone you never would have known they were there. The gutters turned out fantastic, all worries were for nothing. You can barely even see them! When I bought my house, the gutters on it were not installed well at all. In fact, whenever it rained, it was like I had no gutters. So Angie's list recommended Rainmizer and then I found out that my vet and neighbor also had used this company and raved about them. So I talked with Teresa at Rainmizer. She was very approachable and friendly and knowledgeable. She explained everything she was measuring for. She asked me lots of questions to find out what I wanted. She was just awesome. She is the perfect person for the sales or front of the company. Then when David came out to put the gutters up, he was professional and did excellent work. And something else that impressed me was that they had that device where they could run my credit card through their cell phone. If all home contracting companies had this device, it would make home repairs so much easier for the customer. Rainmizer does really care about making their customers happy. Use them. The reviews are true!!!! I just bought a brand new house and need to get gutters on the back and sides. I called them to get an estimate and they came out promptly the next day. The sales rep was very professional and polite. They have lots of options to choose from, things like downspouts, shapes, and gutter sizes. The price was great and the warranty you couldn't beat. He told me once he got back to the office I be receiving an email with an invoice and they will be in contact to schedule an install date . Even though it was right before a holiday weekend, she emailed me the written estimate after coming out and measuring our house. I have water standing along the side of my house and my neighbor has a gutter drain to the street he said I can tie into. I called one company and they did not do the underground connection so I called rainmizer . Theresa, VP came out and said she would install my new gutter and tie it in to the drain in 3 places. Today they came out and installed the gutter but insisted that they don't do tie ins. That was the only reason I hired them. I already had a lower bid for gutters only. Theresa insisted she did not tell me they would tie it in. The gutter installation is average work with some waves in the 60' section but the entire process is wasted money since I am still dumping water in the soggy side yard. I spent 45 minutes showing and discussing what I wanted and now Theresa denies everything. Don't trust them without detailed wording on your contract. --- I now see they are not listed with BBB - dumb me! read more
