We found this company 13 years ago. They were great in the beginning they came and installed rain gutter guards. Everything was wonderful and survived all of the storms up until Beryl. One of our gutters ripped off and was dangling. Immediately reached out and it took about 2 1/2 months for them to respond to me. But they finally did and they came out to help fix the downed gutter. Now one of my other gutters is leaking and you can see the gutter guards are hanging off the edge. I reached out asking for help two months ago asking for help and multiple times since. Finally texted from a different phone and got a response... Y'all need to make this right and come out and help fix these gutter guards you installed. They never answer the phone, they responded to a couple of emails and sent a guy for inspection, who took the notes and disappeared for good. We had gutters installed in October 2020. They had a great price and showed up on time and were fast. However, in April, we noticed with heavy rains there is a waterfall coming down from the front corner of the house (see pic). We have called, texted, and emailed repeatedly since April with absolutely no response but excuses. First, they were behind on warranty work. Then the warranty guy quit. They were hiring. It's continued to be one excuse after another and they never answer the phones. When we leave messages, they do not return our calls or emails. Work in 2019 seemed fine, but very poor customer service in 2021. I chose RainMizer in 2019 based on their online promotion of their gutter covers at the time. They replaced a section of existing gutter and rehung the rest to work with the cover. For two years, everything seemed fine. In May 2021, a section of gutter over our front porch detatched from the house, dropping one cover and a second nearly coming free (no extreme weather events, just normal Houston rain). I contacted them on June 1st, and was told that someone would get ahold of me "within the next week or so" and advised me that it might still be under warranty. On June 9th, I reached out again, and was advised that I should hear something soon along with the recommendation to leave a voicemail if I didn't hear anything by the following week. After that, I switched to leaving voicemail every week or two, but no one returned my calls or otherwise replied. This prompted my wife to leave a 2-star google review on July 23, frustrated that no one had ever returned my calls. After ~7 weeks, the negative review prompted the first call that I actually received. The owner told me how busy that they had been, and insisted that I was advised that it would be a month or two delay (despite clear emails to the contrary and no previous call backs). I was only able to talk for a few minutes before a meeting, but we took down the initial 2-star google review as a show of good faith and I texted him the details and a photo of the 2019 invoice. I made it clear that I did not expect a warranty claim, just wanted to have someone repair the gutter and covers that had come loose. I didn't hear anything for another week, and tried calling the owner back. His voicemail box was full, so I texted him with times that I was available for a call. Yesterday (August 4) was ~2 weeks since the one phone call that I had received. The owner finally texted back, explaining that he hadn't found my paperwork yet, described my reaching out every week or two without a response as "prodding" them, and repeated that they were 1-2 months behind - more than 9 weeks since I first reached out with no one ever coming out. Sight-unseen, the owner insisted that there must have been a "very severe" storm to rip off a gutter; which is inconsistent with the normal storms this May, having no apparent damage to the rest of my gutters, and no damage that I could see on houses near mine. All I ever wanted was for the company that hung my gutters and installed the guards to take a look at the subsequent failure and let me know how / when they could help - at least returning my calls without having to leave a negative review. read more

I live in northwest houston. It's no surprise by my checkin's. That being said there is a plethora of pine trees in my subdivision and I have high gutters on my home. My gutters were installed December 2017. The process was easy and I would say I received good service up to the point of payment and instillation. Short of the one year mark (November 2017), I had to get up on a ladder up towards the roof and realized that there is a section of the mesh leaf guard missing from the top of the gutter (about 2.5 feet) - when I say missing, it's like it was never installed. I was told by Theresa in an email that someone would come out and address it - no one ever did. I asked by email as to when someone would be coming out - I have never had a response. I have called several times and I never get a return phone call....here it is 2020, almost three year later, and I'm still asking for someone to come out and install the missing piece. I had the most excellent experience with Rain Mizer. Everyone at Rain Mizer are true professionals, and demonstrates the highest customer service. I contacted the company through yelp. Theresa replied back within several hours to setup a home visit. Theresa came out to my house the very next day for a quote. Quote was by far the best one among the "well known/established" gutter companies in Southwest Katy. Theresa also offered me to install a taller splash guard on one of the existing gutters in the front of the house for free when all the other gutter companies were charging me $100~$150. On the day of installation, two crews came out and knocked it out within several hours. I had some old and failing DIY (Home Depot) gutters installed in some areas. Really hate leaving bad reviews but I feel I must when others could really benefit from my experience. Initially install and communication was great. Easy to get a quote, schedule a time, and get the work completed. Problem is the quality and customer service. I went with Rain Mizer, though not the cheapest because I was wanting to avoid a headache. I was wrong. After a few months after getting my gutters installed, I started having water flow over the gutter. I'm no gutter expert so couldn't figure out why. Originally thought the speed down the slope of the roof was causing it but later found out it was because the gutter was filling up, finding a weak spot or low point and flowing over. Granted it took me a while to figure this out and it is not like it rains hard every day or I have time to check every time it does. Fast forward and a new roof later I figure it out and ask for Rain Mizer to come warranty their work. Theresa comes out, takes some pictures from the ground and sends me an estimate to re-hang all the gutters again. Cost 65% of what it cost to get everything installed in the first place. Now the real horror part of the story. I tried to email or call to figure out why they won't warranty their work or explain to me why they won't. Weeks after several attempts I finally get a reply and Theresa passes me to David (owner). He says he can take a look next week but no shows. Then doesn't answer my calls for weeks attempting a few times a week. Finally Theresa replies to an email and says he is more responsive via text. Partly true but still takes several attempts to get a reply. From start to today, it has been 6 months before I gave up because he says he will not warranty his work and it is too costly for him to even take a look to see if it was something else that caused the issue or if it was the installer. He based it off the pics Theresa took from the ground. While waiting for a response from them, I had 7 different gutter vendors come out to quote the work expecting no help from Rain Mizer. 3 of the 7 actually got on a latter and 2 did measurements and pointed out the issues to me. David claims the roofers messed with the gutter when they put on the new roof. I asked the different vendors and said that it was not probable since Rain Mizer screwed into the drip edge to hang the gutter and there is no evidence such as additional holes or tearing of the screw holes, suggesting they had been unscrewed. The roofer put a new drip edge over the previous one. All vendors stated it was never pitched right. A few vendors said there aren't enough down spouts because there are only 2 covering 70 feet. All this and David refuses to come out to explain to me why his install was always right or how the roofer clearly changed the alignment of the gutters. Lastly, I tried to offer to split cost with him since so much time had passed. Again, refused and told me I don't know anything about gutters and down right insulted me. Ended by saying via text if I didn't like his answers via phone or text then I really wouldn't like it in person for sure. Not sure if you want to be threatened but I sure don't, so that was the final straw to push me to write a negative review so others don't have to deal with him. Many other companies much better and professional but have a minimum to meet to do the work. Unfortunately I will have to pay to meet that minimum to correct this issue Rain Mizer has left me. How could they see the gutters were moved from the ground? How did they know there were no issues until 6 months ago? I contacted RainMizer after reading all of the positive reviews and as many people have mentioned, I was not able to reach Theresa directly. Instead, I left a message describing what I needed and received a call back the very next day. I was able to have an appointment scheduled for a site visit and estimate a few days later. Theresa was punctual and very prepared for our appointment upon arrival. She explained their installation process, gutter sizes/types and installation lead time. After taking measurements and providing an estimate (which we accepted) we reviewed paint samples to allow her to order the materials needed. Theresa followed up with me the same evening to provide options for installation dates. I was notified of the team's estimated time of arrival on the day of the installation. The three installers were professional and very conscientious about every aspect of the installation. They ensured the gutters were properly sloped to optimize flow, carefully installed the back edge of the gutter under the existing flashing to ensure all water flowed into the gutters, and did not skimp on the number of hangers/brackets to prevent sagging. The team worked quickly but did not cut any corners. We had heavy rain a few hours after the installation was completed and several times more since the installation. The difference after the installation was immediately clear. There was far less moisture on the siding and all the water was diverted away from the foundation after drainage tubes were connected.
