A few years ago Texan Roofing replaced my old roof. Tim explained the process and sent his crew. Not only was it done in a timely manner my yard was clean and nail free. Texan Roofing will not honor what they write in your contract. I contacted Texan Roofing, at 403 W Grand Parkway S Access Rd, Unit R, Katy, TX 77494, for a roof replacement. The owner, Tim Kana, walked my roof and gave me his estimate on a contract. At a subsequent appointment, the details of the work were discussed, in person and Tim Kana understood and wrote everything that I required in my contract and signed it. The materials were delivered the morning of the work, but the drip edge material was not the one specified in the contract. The application of the shingles was not applied with the contracted Texas Wind Code required 6 nails per shingles, even after I contacted Tim Kana during the application. The application of the drip edge was not nailed into the wood decking in many places. The mis-aligned starter strip adhesion will not stick down and will thus fail to meet GAF requirements. The ridge vents were incorrectly installed with mis-matching pieces, exposed nail heads. and ragged roof caps. His workers caused damage to my existing aluminum facia board covers which was not repaired, even though Tim Kana specifically agreed, in his writing, on our contract that he would be responsible for any of that damage. Post installation, Tim Kana was presented with pictured proof of before and after damages to my existing aluminum facia, showing new nails from his crew's nail guns, damaging my facia. Subsequent requests to address problems were only met with profanity and Tim Kana would not honor what he wrote in our contract. All-in-all, the specified installation and resulting quality of work was poor, so and I doubt the GAF warrantee will be honored on this Texan Roofing installation. The written Texan Roofing contract warrantee is not worth the paper it is written on and will not be honored. Avoid. Your response is, untruthful, as your words and actions have been in the past. When you respond "My roofers are 100% sure that the fascia damage you are mad at wasn't caused by them", they were only afraid for their jobs. I have audio of your crew foreman admitting that they caused the facia damage with their nail guns, and could fix it, but you remain in denial. The pictured damage was presented to you the following day after your crew left near dark. I sent you a certified letter that you avoided, like a summons. I showed time stamped pictures of my facia before and after showing damage from new nails matching your nail guns, presented to you in my BBB complaint. Its criminal when you do not abide by what you write into your customers roofing contracts. When you deny the pictured facts, it only confirms your poor reputation. No one should trust Texan Roofing and Tim Kana to modify their home when he will not honor their written contracts and you do not know what you will be paying. The facts are irrefutable. Potential customers should take note of the way you run your roofing business and that you did not and may not honor your future written contracts for installation or warrantee. I called Texan Roofing to get an inspection done on my roof due to missing shingles and a leak. My roof is less than 5 years old and believe it or not some other companies wanted me to replace the whole roof. Tim, the owner, came out the next day, gave me a fair estimate, and explained what needed to be done to fix the leak and replace the missing shingles. I submitted an online request for a quote. Let me first say I absolutely hate doing online requests that ask for your phone number. It never fails to put you on an annoying sales list with harassing phone calls. Well guess what, it finally failed! Brian Carpenter with Texan Roofing respected my wishes and contacted me first via email (they actually ask preferred method of contact). After a pleasant email exchange describing my roofing needs Mr. Carpenter asked for permission to call me. Blown away is an understatement. I mean seriously, I am actually being treated like a living, breathing human customer. All jokes aside its greatly appreciated to have your preferences respected. So Mr. Carpenter calls up and the conversation continues. My wife (the decision maker) is listening into our conversation and I could tell she was impressed with his vast knowledge and straight forward comments. We make arrangements for Brian (yes by now we were on first name basis) to come out and inspect the roof. Hang up and the first words out of my wife's mouth were "we are going with that guy; I don't care what it costs". Now this would normally be an issue for me but the wife does have a great gut feeling. The day before the inspection Brian reaches out to confirm. Awesome, I tend to forget things because I'm getting older and I refuse to write things down because I don't want to admit I'm getting older. Inspection day arrives, Brian sends a text letting us know he is about 30 minutes away. Communication is huge in my book if you could not tell. Brian arrives, does the inspection and confirms its best if we replace the entire roof. I'm picky, my wife and I wanted a very specific look and color. Brian showed us samples, walked us through the entire process and took his time to ensure we had no lingering questions. We picked out our scheme and signed a contract a few days later. At this point I'm expecting a delay due to supply chain or labor shortage. Nope! I was wrong again. Brian got back with me and scheduled the removal and installation for the following week, assuring me it would be complete in no more than a day and a half. Install day arrived and the workers were knocking on the door at 7 AM on the dot. I was in shock, everyone is there on time and ready to work, and work they did! My roof is not small but not gigantic either, by 9 AM they had removed the entire roof and started replacing bad decking and laying down the underlayment. So what happened to the mess created from the tear down? They were cleaning up the debris as they worked. Weird concept to keep the customer's property clean during the roofing process. Sadly, I had to leave for work and could not enjoy the progress in person. Later that evening after the sun had set Brian called to inform me they were unable to complete the job in 1 day. They were 10 feet short on the ridge vents. Seriously? That's the only issue? Not a problem at all. But now I'm anxious to rush home, inspect their work and strive to find something wrong. On the last roof we had replaced I was finding nails and debris for months, so I knew what to look for. I got home, pulled out the flashlight, walked around admiring their work and getting upset with myself that I could not find any debris. No crew is really this good. Well guess what, I was wrong a third time. The next morning, I woke up and did another inspection with full sunlight. The Texan Roofing crew really IS THIS GOOD! Due to the roofs age our insurance premiums were higher. I submitted pictures of the completed roof along with an invoice showing when and who did the work. My insurance agent was highly impressed with the quality of work and even mentioned I got a great deal. To have my insurance agent commend the job Texan Roofing performed made me thrilled and overly satisfied. See my wife and her gut instincts are pretty damn good. Got a call to set an appointment for a roof inspection as "they are currently roofing another house on my street". Set appointment for the ext day and no call no show from the company. When calling the number that reached out to me it just rings with no voicemail. Doesn't sound like a legit business. Leaking roof gutter system Previous owner contracted Texan Roofing to install the roof and gutter(small section) of our house right before we purchased. Everything worked fine until water started leaking into the soffit a couple months later. I contacted Texan roofing and they could not figure out the issue. Said they would come back out to correct it but they forgot. Fast forward 6 months and water started leaking into the house from the same point. While water was leaking in my house I contacted Texan roofing and they said it would be a week before they could come by and look at it. Definitely was not a priority for them. When they inspected the tech determined that the gutter they subcontracted was installed incorrectly and caulking/flashing needed to be installed to fix the issue. They put a temporary fix but would not install flashing because "a subcontractor did it and we are not responsible." The gutter was subcontracted meaning Texan roofing got a cut and are definitely liable. As they were getting off of the roof they collapsed my gutter and said they didn't know how to fix it. Long story short there is water damage in my house and the owner says he is not liable since the subcontractor installed the gutters. read more

Ah, there's the stellar customer service I'm looking for.. I'm not a roofer; by that definition I have a life (although you've since deleted this comment). Thanks for siding with your rep without reaching out to address or mitigate my concerns. Why on God's green earth would I take time out of my busy day to put someone down if I wasn't truly irritated. Your bashing will not help you (although you've since deleted the bashing as well). Update 1 in response to owners deleted comment: It's odd because if you would have reached out to ease and disgruntled customer the review could have easily been changed; at least that's what I would have done. Bashing a customer in public doesn't bode well for your reputation. Never once have you asked how things happened from my point of view as the events you have stated are drastically incorrect. At this point I'm sure most people are not interested in this frivolous debate (glad you've since retracted most of your comments). What they are interested in however is a good roofing company. I know that if I we're going to spend 10K+ with a business then I'd want to feel valued from the onset. This was not conveyed (nor was the permission to record the calls conveyed - but that's a whole other can of worms). I, in fact, did find a good roofing company that has been amazing every step of the way. I will not be distasteful and recommend them here but if you click on my profile you'll find that I'll have written up a full review on them once the work is completed - Hope this helps you guys out there looking for quality roofers with quality service. We've use Texan Roofing twice now- on two of our homes. Both times they have been stellar. They are pretty prompt with the communication, and the crew does a pretty good job of prepping and cleaning up. During our recent roof replacement, they laid down tarp all around our landscaping and pool and cleaning up pretty nicely after they were done. Brian was very helpful throughout the process and kept us updated by sending picture of the progress and walked around ensuring everything was being done properly. I had my roof done yesterday & couldn't wait to post my review! It looks awesome! Texan Roofing (Tim) came to give me an estimate looking very professional, wearing a company shirt & in his company truck. Being a wife that's home and allowing men in the home, I look for these forms of identification. His estimate included measurements, replacing vent covers, & painting existing pipes black to match the charcoal shingles I had picked. It also included replacing the drip edge. The price was good but I had another estimate set up for a few days later. I might as well compare prices, right? A waste of time. The guy came on a cold day. He asked to assess my roof from the attic (I'm assuming he's still going on the roof). Nope! He didn't even have a ladder. I watched him go back to his truck, start it, and sit there for 15 mins before coming back in. Of course I had to ask his thoughts to which he replied "Well, you definitely need a new roof!" This made me feel like he's dishonest. Not to mention his price was $2100 more to do less work (like leave existing drip edge). This was a no brainer. I called Tim back. Texan roofing did a great job in one day. Riding through my neighborhood, I now have the best roof in my subdivision! These guys are not so bad. They keep their schedule on time and are willing to do the job (if its fixing some leaks and things like that) right away considering you are not replacing the whole roof. Pricing are not gauged up either. Update: After about 6 months and 2 visits, the leak is not fixed and started pouring even worse. I called a different company this time who will actually replace some vent stacks and not put more caulk like Tim did. We shall see. read more

I recently replaced my hot water heaters and the vents had to be resealed on the roof. I called 3 roofing companies but only got a return call from Carlos at Texan Roofing. Anyway I saw that they had excellent reviews and went ahead. I scheduled an inspection the following business day and I have to say that everything about the company is top-notch and professional. I ended having additional work done as a result of finding missing shingles and I know that every dollar I spent will save me thousands down the line. I found it hard to believe that a roofing company could be as good as their reviews, but Texan Roofing sure lives up to their reputation. While I had a hard time even getting other companies to come give me a quote, Adam came by on a Sunday (on a holiday weekend!) and gave me a fair bid. He also gave me his cell phone number and was super responsive from start to finish. The re-roof started around 7:30am and was completed by 5 that same day. The person who came to inspect my roof after a sudden rain leak told me he would send an estimate later that day. However, when I called the next day to find out if and roughly when they could fix the roof (severe weather in the immediate forecast was making me nervous), he informed me that my emergency was not his priority, that they were extremely busy with several existing projects, and that I would need to wait as long as required for both the estimate and the service. At which point I apologized for wasting his time and promptly took my business elsewhere. And to a place with good customer service/attitude for a change. Met with Tim Kana one day and less than 5 days later he was at my house, stripped my roof and did a full roof replacement and clean up in one day. During a recent rain storm my roof started leaking in my game room. I was convinced I was going to need a new roof. Tim came out and determined that that water was probably coming in around a roof vent that had not been properly sealed. He sealed it up as well as the others as a preventive. After Having a handyman repair my roof without success, I researched the web and found Texan Roofing. I contacted this company after reading great reviews and seeing their BBB A+ rating. Texan roofing came out to fix my leak, and they were very conscientious and where very efficient. They are a company I would recommend. And although there was a mix up with the schedule, initially, they were very apologetic about it and it was something that happened that was outside of their control. I didn't mind that at all. I explained to them my extremely busy schedule, and they accommodated to a time when I could be home for the repair. They did a wonderful job with my roof, and they water tested the repair before leaving. They also gave me a one year warranty, something that not all companies will offer. If you're looking for a good, professional, and caring company to meet your roof needs, give Texan Roofing a call. The second time, when we were able to reschedule a time when I would be home, Adam was very punctual, and supervised the job during the time that his Technician worked on my roof. Sales pitch is great. Very professional, until you sign on the line. After that, a crew showed up, put the roof up and left without even saying they are done. They left my patio furniture and gas grill in the yard for me to move back. They left scraps and nails in my driveway which cost me a tire. Three follow up appointments with the rep were no shows with no notice or explanation. We still have shingles showing up in our yard after each storm. This may be left over mess, or something worse. Time will tell. I've been told the company will reimburse us for the tire. Time will tell. I can not recommend this company. read more

Complete assholes. Once they get your phone number they will not quit calling you. They call me 2 to 3 times a day after I have asked to be taken off their list. Don't use them. I have a feeling that after they look at your roof you will have damage no matter how good of shape your roof is in. One more call from them and I am going to the AG office to have them stop. Our roof was damaged during hailstorms in 2015, severely enough to require an entire roof replacement. We had no prior experience with Texan Roofing until we encountered several glowing reviews during March of 2016 on various websites.Those reviews immediately piqued our interest in Texan Roofing. I had hail damage and my roof was seventeen years old and it needed to be replaced. I filed a claim with my insurance company on my own. I found Texan Roofing's website by searching for a Master Elite roofing company at the GAF website online. The video on the front page of Texan Roofing's website about awards for customer satisfaction caught my attention. I called Texan Roofing to schedule an estimate for a roof replacement and Matt Meuth came out to my house. He first listened to all of problems I had with my old roof and then we went into the attic to get a view of the problem areas. We then went outside and up on the roof together. Matt explained in detail all of the suggestions on what was needed to replace my roof. We went in the house and he looked at my insurance settlement claim and said he could complete the whole job for the settlement price. He explained the shingles, roof deck protection, ventilation and everything else that needed to be done in great detail and made sure I understood it. He listened while I asked him questions about his company concerning liability insurance, worker's experience, references, licenses, etc. He completed a written estimate explaining everything we had discussed and this included a ten year leak free transferable warranty. A few days later I called three of the references and they all spoke highly of Texan Roofing. On the work day the the truck with the materials was on time and so was the work crew. Matt stopped by during the day to oversee the work and make sure everything was going well. When the work was completed Matt and I went up on the roof and he explained all of the work that was done to me in detail. When I was satisfied that everything had been done correctly we then went inside the house and I handed him the check for the work. I would highly recommend Texan Roofing. Between the professionalism and thoroughness of the quote given by Texan Roofing I have to say the cheaper quote did not seem so appealing. You know this is something that needs to pass the test of time I wanted to know we picked the right contractor to help protect one of our biggest assets.
