Another good find in Fitzrovia! Ragam might not be the hippest restaurant in the area, but what it lacks in razzle it more than makes up for in food. The space in smallish, but comfortable, though perhaps a little dim for two coworkers having lunch. We were greeted and seated promptly with waters brought out straight away. After leaping a few linguistic hurdles, we were pleased to hear about a £5 lunch special of a main course, rice, and a side. Good food can be cheap! I was a bit sickly, so opted for the Ragam soup (a mere £2) and some paratha bread. There were about five different selections of bread, and I decided upon the garlic. The wait for the food wasn't too long, and occasionally one of the cooks in the back would break into song. It was quaint. The soup was great: tasty, hardy, and with a bit (but not too much!) of kick. There's nothing worse than a puny soup, and this one definitely performs well. The garlic paratha had great intentions and would have been perfect if there were about 1/10 the garlic. When they say garlic, they mean "holy crap GARLIC." After the first piece I started cutting mine apart to knife out the excess garlic chunks. I fear I'll have a vague taste of garlic for at least a month. Without a doubt I'd come back here. Beyond knowing now to get the regular paratha, both my coworker and I were extremely pleased with our meals and ecstatic about the price. And remember, if the restaurant itself doesn't look like it'll be exciting enough for you, Ragam also offers takeaway!

Small but cozy little vfm indian restaurant. The menu is not that extensive, but all dishes we tried were tasty. The service could be better (a bit slow and not that friendly)

One of the best indian meals I have ever had was here at this simple, unpretentious place. South Indian, so heaven for veggies with the lovely dosas

Was wandering round post-pub looking for somewhere to eat and stumbled across this place, which neither of us had high hopes for. So I was pleasantly surprised to see a pretty authentic looking south Indian menu. There are a number of different dosai to choose from as starters, and both the ones we had were really tasty. My Kerala mutton curry was much nicer than my friend's chicken masala, and the green chilli paratha was also better than the plain. Indian beers come served in big bottles rather than on draft but are reasonably priced. The service is ok - they take your order and leave you alone - which is not a bad thing.

Since it was lunch, I went for a prawn masala dosa (As I fell in love with Dosas in India, and it's not always easy to find this South Indian dish).

They have done an impressive job on the remodel updating it with a bright and clean interior tastefully decorated and well equipped. Two large screen TV's play Bollywood music videos and sporting events. When you enter there is a small kebab shop and takeaway, and you enter through the second set of doors to the dining room. The food is amazing! A dazzling array of choices and some special items. We ordered Karahi Fish, Karahi Methi Gosht, Tarka Daal and a whole tandoori chicken. This was more than enough food for four and we were all very happy to try so many tasty items. First the fish was perfectly prepared and delicately spiced. It had a great texture and wasn't "swimming" in sauce. The lamb curry was ordered spicy and the chef actually came to ask us how spicy we actually wanted it, so we explained EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA hot.. he laughed and asked if we were sure and we said we were. He delivered! It was a spicy inferno without being overpowering. The daal was very nice but the highlight was the Tandoori chicken.. it was the most flavorful one we had tried in a long time and came out perfectly moist and juicy and oozing with flavour, and at 7 quid it was quite a deal as well. We also noted on the menu the chefs special.. a WHOLE LEG OF LAMB! We vowed a night of hedonism and drinking accompanied by a lamb feast. We followed through the following week and we were rewarded for our determination with a stunning piece of culinary magic. The leg of lamb was so tender and flavourful that we decided to make it a monthly ritual.. but be forewarned you have to order it 24 hours in advance.. so think ahead! The Lahore Masala House is a welcome addition to the Kentish Town landscape.. they have great lunch deals and they also stay up late for those leaving the locals or the Forum.

Absolutely loved Tayyabs!…read more The one thing I knew I needed when visiting London was Indian food and I'm so happy I found this restaurant. Found this restaurant on Yelp after seeing such great reviews and I wasn't disappointed! At first, I was nervous my friend and I wouldn't get a table due to how busy the restaurant was but since we were only two people, we had no issue getting a table. Seating is tight! You are almost arm to arm with the individuals sitting around you which I actually found to be a great experience. My friend and I ended up striking conversation with the people next to us which led to a fun dining experience. Service was quick! We ordered food and it came out quickly and all waiters were super attentive. In terms of food, everything was absolutely delicious and portion sizes were huge! First we ordered the lamb chops and the samosas which were absolutely amazing. We then ordered the chicken and lamb dishes with the naan which completely filled us. I can't wait to come back and I will absolutely be dreaming about this restaurant until I come back!

On my way out I noticed some people bringing in beer so maybe BYOB? I would definitely come back here. Seems like it gets busy so plan accordingly.
