Yum!! Just tried Ragadan for the first time tonight and the food was absolutely fresh and delicious. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with yogurt marinated chicken, hummus, caramelized onions, almonds, and parsley sauces. The combination moist, and a delightful, symphony of flavors. My husband had a their huge salad and the falafel pocket. The salad was loaded with ingredients and the pocket so flavorful. He loved it. They also have some amazing looking desserts like homemade baklava, hand pies, and milk s shakes. If you have a sweet tooth. Get one...or two! This place is so good. Never had Jordanian food before but definitely worth trying. I got the grilled chicken sandwich on the ka'ak bread and it's a mixture between pesto and hummus sauce on top. If you want to venture out from your normal gyro place this is a great option. They also have Arabic Pepsi which is amazing! They're fast and seem to have tasty desserts on the menu too. I came here on a whim on Friday evening as I wanted to try something new in my area. I'm happy I did since I really enjoyed my falafel Ka'ak and the Tahini chicken sandwich. I was starving so my fatass ordered two items, yes, lol. Nonetheless the guy working the counter was friendly and got my order out to me within 10 minutes. Ragadan lived up to the hype and I'm a burger snob. The owner Dan and his crew were super friendly and very accommodating. I'm gluten free and they let me bring my own bun. I had the double Dan with cheese and I would put it over small chevals double cheeseburger which had been my go-to for some time except they can't accommodate gluten free. Dan sources his beef from a small butchery and gets a really delicious custom blend. His fixings were perfect. Definitely a love for onion and zatar in the flavor profile. I also had the pistachio milk shake with candied pistachios - you're not going to find that at another burger joint. I'll be back to try the rest of the menu. The seating is limited but aesthetic and the ambiance is chill with proximity to the artistry in the kitchen and you can still enjoy the foot traffic outside. A home run! Thank you Dan! read more

Ragadan is dependable and delicious! The stuffed falafel and the baklava milkshake are both excellent.

I love their burger. I think of it fairly often, always thinking about coming back. It's a lot of onions but cooked really nicely so you get all the flavors but very melty. Broadway is an odd street. It is full of dense small stores at specific stretches of this long, meandering street. Near Montrose is a whole set of stores and several quick-serve restaurants. Ragdan is one you could easily pass by if you were not looking for it. This is a falafel place, but it also has hamburgers. Walking into this little restaurant, it is organized and clean. I was impressed at the aluminum navy dining chairs. We ordered a double-stack hamburger, fries, and self-serve drinks. The service was friendly, and it cost about $20. The burger was well made but a little on the small side. The fries were good but a little on the small side. Welcome to stagflation. They do have milkshakes; the one that got us curious was the Baklavah Shake. That will be for next time. read more

Excellent lunch. Read a Ten Best Hamburger review listing Ragadan. I'm a vegetarian and noticed a falafel mention in the post, so I decided to try it. Once I arrived I noticed an Eggplant sandwich on the menu. It's so hard to find good Eggplant, especially as a sandwich, so why not?!! I ordered both. The Eggplant sandwich was great. It's a cold pita sandwich filled with flavor from taking, onion, pickles, egg and red Chile sauce. Tha falafel pita sandwich was also very good. Not as Crispy as Pita Inn, but lots more flavor. I was so blown away by this meal! One of the best burgers I've had at least in recent memory. I ordered the onion burger and the caramelizad flavor was so deep, it was amazing. was really hoping to love this spot -- the food looked pretty great and some of the reviews on the burgers, falafel sandwiches, and shakes were pretty stellar. i found the burger to be pretty good but simple and no nonsense, kinda like a Five Guys burger. which i actually really like but i wouldn't say it's the best burger in the city. the falafel ka'ak i found a bit flavourless, though the bread it's served in is pretty excellent. could personally use more spice, salt, garlic, or something in it. sadly--after an upwards of $50 purchase for burger, sandwich, 2 shakes, and a sparkling water--we asked for one cup of tap water after we had sat down and they told us it'd be 50 cents each. i find charging for tap water is pretty ridiculous, especially since we also already purchased a (likely) very overpriced sparking water bottle. ‍ this is an automatic drop of 1.5 stars for really no reason at all, and kinda brought down the mood of the rest of the meal. the saving grace was actually the shake which was delicious! the basbousa shake in particular (i found the baklava shake just taste like cinnamon). i also appreciate the normal sized portions of everything rather than exaggerated large shakes and burgers. and it's a simple clean cute space. read more

Had the Oklahoma Onion burger - since I grew up in OK eating these where they were created in El Reno Oklahoma - I can honestly say Ragadan nailed it. Superb - juicy - perfectly fried onions with nice touch on the mayo. Also the onion rings are superb. Others dining with me had falafel sandwich - first rate large portion - chicken sandwich - tasty & juicy also large portion. Stopped by Ragadan to get a stuffed falafel to eat on the go. I'll say this: their falafel is NOT dry - the bane of falafels everywhere. It's moist and flavorful and oniony, perhaps because it's drenched in tahini and parsley sauce, perhaps it would be if it wasn't - who knows. After awhile the one-note-one-texture-ness of it did get old - I wish it had been crispy - either the falafels or the pita - but what are you going to do, it's a $9 lunch, which is sadly almost extinct around here. read more

I went there to try to Oklahoma Onion Burger, which was absolutely fantastic and the best of its kind that I have had in Chicago. I also tried the blueberry hand-pie and it was delicious as well. Overpriced. The falafel sandwich was mediocre but the fries were BUSSIN! But I still payed almost $5 for a side of fries which is absolutely unaffordable. The falafel sandwich was around $13 and for the portion and taste, way too expensive. This place is only a block from my house but I would probably pass it by to get something else. Not a fan. I do want more businesses like this in the neighborhood, just not price gouging. This ain't Lincoln park bruh, lower your prices. And can we talk about the decor inside? Ragadan is a great option for a good burger in uptown. The promptly greeted us upon arrival to the quaint restaurant. It has few seating options but from what I observed, most people, like me, choose to take their meals to go. I was really looking forward to trying the tahini ranch fried chicken sandwich, but it was sold out when I went which can only mean it really is *that* good. Instead, I opted for the classic deluxe burger while my boyfriend got the single dan burger. I wouldn't say there was anything special about them, although the are definitely a few steps up from what you can get at say a McDonald's. They were solid burgers and can see myself coming back whenever I get a craving for one, but I'll definitely be back for the tahini ranch sandwich. read more

The cashier Karina was nice. I returned to the restaurant because my sandwich order was wrong. The owner became angry, mean and nasty. In a rage he grabbed the sandwich and threw it in the garbage, and stated "Its the best sandwich on this side of town." The Falafel Ka'ak and Tahini sauce was bland. Ragadan was a pleasant surprise! We got the falafel ka'ak, grilled chicken sandwich, and Single Dan to go for under $30. All three sandwiches were really good but the burger was the standout. The tender, juicy patty combined with the zatr mayo/shoor pickles gave it an unique, tasty twist. The ka'ak sesame loaf was a nice change of pace from the pita pocket and the falafel sandwich overall was really enjoyable (didn't eat dry at all) especially with all the accoutrements. I didn't notice any almonds in my chicken sandwich but it was still delicious and hardly a deal breaker. Worth a try if you're in the neighborhood! read more

Best falafel. Hand-crafted and homemade--not from a mix. Prepared to order. The falafel sandwich is delicious and perfectly accented with sauces, tabouli and veggies. The new freekeh chicken soup is fabulous. So incredibly tasty with a touch of lemon at the end. The grilled chicken sandwich is also a flavor delight with sauces and well-paired pickles. Everything on the menu is prepared with incredible attention to detail and care. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. No surprise that Ragadan is a Banchet Award nominee. read more

Finally tried this place for the first time after hearing so many people love it. I will definitely come back! The falafel pocket was really good, but the stuffed falafel sandwich was amazing! I have eaten here once and had the falafel pocket and found it outstanding. Better than good. It was a bit sloppy but only as a consequence of the cook being very generous with the contents. The falafel itself was the star. It took a short while to be ready, indicating to me that the materials were cooked and assembled to order. The taste and temperature were perfect. I would even say they are tastier than small cheval which was my favorite burger place in Chicago before trying this spot. The owner was very nice and took his time explaining the menu items. This is a small location with a limited seating area but cleanliness of the kitchen and seating area is top notch.
