Today I was in the mood for cross stitching, something I was really good at in childhood and never attempted recently. It seems like fun fall pastime. And so, I found myself at a local Michael's in Beachwood. STORE: The store is very clean and well stocked. Everything is meticulously organized. It's really impressive. I also found it to be very well lit so you can inspect all your craft finds. I was looking for a cross stitch kit but also found a lot of embroidery kits. No designs really worked for what I wanted - something nature-y. But there were some fun ones - cafes, pasta, and more. Cross stitch kits seem to be phasing out, but here they are between $11-20, not a bad value. The store is full of seasonal stuff - Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. You can get everything from seasonal plates to nut crackers. I was most into Christmas merry go round. SERVICE: The service is very friendly. I was able to ask an associate on her way to clock in some questions about what I was looking for. She suggested where to find my products, and some alternative finds. So, really really good service. I would come to this store again for my obscure hobbies. Next time I'm planning for more time to look for cross stitch kits and other hobbies I've abandoned years ago.

This global inspired boutique carries bohemian wares and accessories and you can fall down a rabbit hole pretty quickly of looking at beautiful things. I don't pay much mind to the clothes (the sizes are all pretty small), but I love all the gifts they carry. I purchased a beautiful handmade dreamcatcher from a women's collective in New Mexico, a vibrant scarf with foxes on it and a goddess inspired art print for a friend. In the past, it wasn't uncommon to walk in and be completely ignored while the teenage staff hid behind the counter on their phones. I've noticed there's been turnover, there seems to be a good group of guys working now and the customer service has greatly improved. Now, the moment you walk through the door, you're greeted and helped almost immediately. My own kids are just starting hockey now, which means I've been spending a lot more time in the store trying to figure out the best gear routes for them. Even though I've played my whole life and know my way around equipment, it has been awesome going in and getting genuine feedback from Mitch. He's going through the exact same stage of life with his own kids, which makes his advice incredibly relatable and valuable - and we've been able to compare notes on skills sessions, camps, and other things that come up with these kids. If you want a store that actually cares about the hockey community, go see Mitch and his team. To be honest, I was a bit concerned and really bummed when I heard about Pure Hockey buying out Perani's. I was worried the store would end up feeling a little too corporate and lose its identity. However, Mitch and his team have really pointed out how great the transition has been, and the store is starting to look awesome.

He was informed that the item is available online and only then did he want to make a sale for his store. If your store is or isn't busy take a moment to help the customer and make the sale. I pick another laptop and I was told if it is still here when yours gets here. Of course when my laptop got there it was no longer available. I was told they don't hold anything for anyone period. I asked for a refund and was told there would be a 20% restocked fee to restock the broke laptop I had to pay to ship back. Please do not trust this company they only care about themselves and customer service is terrible. There policies are only to protect them. They make money if you buy or if you have to return a bad product.
