I visit Michael's about once a year. It's not even for specific holidays or occasions, it's for my hobby urges. You know how you suddenly think of a new crafting hobby then maybe or maybe not do it after getting all the supplies. Today I was in the mood for cross stitching, something I was really good at in childhood and never attempted recently. It seems like fun fall pastime. And so, I found myself at a local Michael's in Beachwood. STORE: The store is very clean and well stocked. Everything is meticulously organized. It's really impressive. I also found it to be very well lit so you can inspect all your craft finds. I was looking for a cross stitch kit but also found a lot of embroidery kits. No designs really worked for what I wanted - something nature-y. But there were some fun ones - cafes, pasta, and more. Cross stitch kits seem to be phasing out, but here they are between $11-20, not a bad value. The store is full of seasonal stuff - Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. You can get everything from seasonal plates to nut crackers. I was most into Christmas merry go round. SERVICE: The service is very friendly. I was able to ask an associate on her way to clock in some questions about what I was looking for. She suggested where to find my products, and some alternative finds. So, really really good service. I would come to this store again for my obscure hobbies. Next time I'm planning for more time to look for cross stitch kits and other hobbies I've abandoned years ago. read more

They always have what we need. Our young granddaughter makes beaded bracelets for sale, and she found a good supply there. Also, I dropped my leather glove in the store, and asked the cashier to let me know if they find it. An associate did exactly that. read more

I have been here multiple times and the framing employees are some of the most truly helpful and caring folks I've seen in retail. They taught me how to properly install my diplomas and even helped me along when I broke one by mis-hanging. Great people. read more

I have been shopping at Michael's for years. During the pandemic, I did not go to the store for at least two years. When things opened back up again, I stopped by one day. What I found was pretty bad. Different items were scattered all over the store. A lot of things were just stacked in open boxes in the aisles. Brands that I had counted on for years had been replaced by cheaper quality, no- name brands with inferior materials (beads, yarn, art supplies, scissors, markers). Poorly stocked. read more

How I enjoy looking around this store. It's more than a crafts store. It's a decorator's delight! Anything you need to dress up your home is here. Anything you need for school or a hobby is here. This store seemed bigger than others. The merchandise was the same, just more of it. Seasonal decorations were in the middle of the floor for easy finding. Custom framing and bathrooms are in the back of the store. My cashier was friendly. She told me about the coupons and said to do the survey to get 25% off the next purchase. read more

I would like to say while I was in the store I caused chaos by my constant asking staff questions and laughing throughout the whole store of things I thought were funny. The staff were kind and polite especially the kind of woman at the register who, when I needed to remove some items from my cart, rang me up again and then I was a dollar short and she gave me that dollar. 10 out of 10 staff. I love Michael's because I am a art lover. And it was such a clean and sanitary store. it was a lovely experience and I will be going again. read more

Michaels is addicting! I mean, it's only a craft store to some, but to me, it's the maker of dreams for my home and my office. Love going here and the one in Chagrin seems far larger than the rest- to me at least. The fact that they have weekly coupons that takes most things down 40% is the bonus for me. Customer service is inadequate. I placed an online order, after not receiving notification of it being ready I called to inquire. After speaking to a team member being notified that all orders were in the process of being completed I decided to wait an addition day. Still no email I decide to call again. After being on hold for 45 minutes and the associate saying she did not see my order I decide to drive to the store. Still on hold, I speak with the rude manager Dawn. She says we have no calls waiting... even after I show her the number and hold music. She the begins to look through the orders and found mine ... not In the slot identified by name. With no apology, sorry for the inconvenience she walks away. The associate that had me on hold was not looking for my order nor did she relay the issue to another associate. She was checking out customers. If I hadn't went to the store I would have still been on hold. read more

Worse customer service ever. Brought back a pencil case with a broken zipper to return. Cashier looks at item and says "this doesn't have a tag, I can't return it." I reached inside the care and pulled out the tag. But even without the tag, I had a receipt and it was a defective item. She could have easily gone to that department and retrieved another one to check the price. When I suggested that to the manager she said "you expect us to take our time to go do that?" WTF? YES! That is your job! I will never frequent that location again and suggest you don't either. Inept staff and management. Whet ever happened to going the extra mile for your patrons? These folks don't even want to do the minimum. Who needs 'me? Not me! read more
