Always a great experience at Pins & Needles. They have everything you could ever need for your next quilting project, classes for you to take, and a clearance section that you just can't pass up. The fabric value is top notch and everything I've bought from here is high quality. They cut your fabric for free and always have really good sales going on too. Shout out to Pam for all the help today and giving me ideas for future projects. Can't wait to come back! read more

Pins & Needles - Fabric Stores Near Me - Cleveland, Ohio

I took my first class here in April, 2025. It was an appliqué, block of the month. I was hooked! I've taken many classes since, finished my first quilt and learned my little Brother machine backward and forward! Jan, the owner, is always there and always willing to go above and beyond as are all the other employees. I have now purchased a baby lock serger and am creating things I never thought I could. They offer a free usage class once a month that I've taken twice now. Their on line classes are very good too. I've even made a pair of pants over a three day workshop. They offer a wide variety of classes with knowledgeable teachers and reasonable prices. read more

Update on repair department: After spending $100-plus on my vintage machine's annual tuneup, I got home and it was making a clunking noise. I returned to the shop, and the technician (with the sales associate standing over him) told me there was a broken part and the repair would be $300 labor plus parts if they could find the parts. The sales associate said it wasn't worth repairing and suggested I trade it in and get a new machine. I asked them to investigate purchasing the part. They said they would, but they never got back to me. After about months of searching for a different technician, I found someone else who had the part in stock and fixed the machine. read more

Very bad classes and instructors. Don't waste your money. You'll do better using YouTube. However, the fabric is good quality and they have a very good selection of threads. I do not recommend Baby Lock Allegro, as mine has had more problems than I want to deal with. I do better with my little Brother. read more

Highly recommend this store, especially if you are a quilter or do machine embroidery. Very impressive selection of threads spools for machines. Very nice sewing machines too. The fabric choice was good too. Be sure to check out the clearance section. The main focus seems to be on machine quilting and embroidery. Would like to see more items for those who do needle crafts by hand. The staff is super nice and I was even given some handouts related to upcoming classes. The class descriptions looked appealing. The staff was able to answer my questions, very helpful! Enjoyed shopping here as there is much to see. If you've never been here before, allow a little extra time to look around. Such great people. It's been a few weeks since I've been here. They somehow learned my mom was very ill and in the hospital and sent her a get well card. This store really cares about their customers. They may not always be the cheapest or have what I want, but I'll never stop shopping here. read more

I need to take time to give a special shout to Donna,Tom and Sam they went above and beyond to find out it was user error when it came to my machine problem. Even though I was frustrated with my self they remained positive until I understood what i was doing wrong. Another reason this is my one and onlh go to store read more

I went there earlier this year. The staff was eating cake at the register and chatting and laughing amongst themselves. That was very unprofessional. When we asked them to help us, they looked at us as if we were from a different planet. They had no knowledge of apparel fabric, and told us we only have what is there. As I left the counter, in shock, one of them was kind enough to show us a bolt of what would be considered to be cheap flannel, located in an end cap off to the side, for $30 a yard!! I could not believe the price of that fabric! Other than that one small section, the whole store is filled with nothing but fabric for quilting. Our whole family sews for themselves, we need quality fabric to wear, especially now, since Joann closed down. Even though this store is equipped for the quilter or has many things for the sewing machines, and some classes for kids, the adult students are left behind. Our family used to go to the old store on Smith Rd, and we all learned how to sew from Jackie Reynolds. She was a gem! She gave a person confidence to know how to sew for themselves, and they had fabric and patterns to back it up! It is too bad that Pins and Needles has become so big, they forgot about the customer who wants to sew clothes for themselves, or the adult who wants to learn how. We need professional people like Jackie Reynolds back in that store. read more

Ten or so workers were walking around but no one bothered to greet me. I couldn't find a couple of things and waited to ask someone but no one stopped chatting long enough for me to interrupt. Pricing was hard to find on many items. The classes, though it seems many are offered, look uninteresting and expensive to me. Can't say I'd come back. read more

Poor machine service, took my singer in for a plate and tension adjustment, and it they cannot get the tension correct, Have taken it back TWICE and the second time I asked to make sure its sewing correctly because I drive from far away, and they said yes it works fine, as soon as I got it home, its skipping stiches and leaving gaps, After paying over $150,00 my machine is still not working correctly. I have a very simple singer. Poor service. read more

This store has beautiful and unique fabrics and plenty of machines to choose from. The service is less desirable. I spent around $250 for machine repair that wasn't as expected. Left a message but got no response. Also left my contact information for the embroider and never received a call. read more

reposting 2nd time from 7/23 "buyer beware" My wife purchased a janone machine and kangaroo tablefor $6480. in June 2022 She sufffered a severe stroke 8/22 and never used the machine. My wife and sil talked with owner Jan Brosek and she insulted us with an offer to purchase of $1000. Showing no copassion and offering 2500. she could have sold it for $4000. or more but instead tried to make a large profit on customer that was diagnosed with vascular dementia, we hope many people read this and see what kind of owner and uncaring person you are and if you remove this i'll re put it on will look again 3/17. read more

According to the Brother directory, Pins and Needles is not an authorized service center for repair.  They are only an authorized dealer for purchase.  Beware of owner and repairmen.  I had an awful experience. Lied to me about issue and did not repair. I took my faulty machine to authorized repair shop. The shop honored my warranty and replaced unit. Owner said they are always fixing "repairs" done by Pins and that they keep him in business! read more

So I wanted to update my review as I have been going here for 2 years. I do love the Middleburg store the best because it is larger with more classes (and I like personal space). Jan, the owner, is very accommodating and she truly wants you to know how to use your machine and has a passion for teaching. I also really love taking Open Sews with Michelle on Sundays that turns into time to hang out with others and try new projects. There is definitely classic and old school techniques taught, but there is also modern quilters who teach classes that are interesting and new, so there is a little for everything. I also think it is good to note, for a younger demographic. This store also has an online platform that will teach you sewing skills online. It is a good community! read more

I've gone in here a few times to look at their sewing machines, which are way overpriced in my opinion. I found the employees to be very helpful and friendly, but there's a woman there, think she's a manager or something, with short reddish hair, who is the most unprofessional person I have ever come across. She was barking out orders to everyone and talking to them in a very sarcastic manner, almost like she was making fun of them. I noticed it every time I was there, and honestly will not be going back because of it. Karma will get that woman at some point, and I won't be putting any money into a place that allows something like that to continue. Also, look at the section down below the reviews, "From the Business, Meet the Business Owner". Who the heck wrote that? Apparently someone who doesn't know anything about punctuation. It's almost hilarious, and pretty pathetic. SMH....... read more

Would not recommend this place. Bought. 900.00 sewing machine from them and pieces Missing. Called them and they said they would put in mail. One week later still nothing. Had to drive out there over 80 miles away to pick up the part only to be treated Rudely by employees and for the one employee to try and school me by saying "do you know how the mail works". Umm yes I do and I know that 90% of the time when you mail something city to city within ohio usually comes next day or two days max. So now we seem to have more parts missing and called and again said they would put parts in the mail and we are now three days with NO parts. So I don't feel this place is honest and does not stand behind their sales or machines. Would 100% recommend you DON'T BUY HERE or if you do be prepared for them not to stand behind their product and LIE TO YOU. I didn't even want to give them one star read more

Great selection of quilting and the nicest knit fabrics I've seen. They also have every type of sewing accessory you might need. Great selection of machines too, including Baby Lock's and Janome. P & N also has one of the most extensive class lists I have ever seen. The instructors are very knowledgable too. Great store to shop at! read more

I walked into the store and immediately noticed how large and well organized they are. I was immediately greeted by the owner who was warm and welcoming. I brought my embroidery machine to them for repairs ( I did not buy it there). We started talking and she realized I had problems with this machine for nearly the entire time I owned it. I wound up buying a Brand new Baby lock Flourish and was given what I felt was more than a fair deal. They sell everything from notions, to fabric and patterns and offer seminars and classes and even host a sewing club. Not to mention a tremendous selection of machines. I will definitely be taking most of my business to Pins and Needles and would encourage everyone who sews, quilts or embroiders to pay them a visit. read more

I own three sewing machines that I purchased from Pins & Needles at two of the three Locations. What I love about these stores is the staff is always friendly. They are eager to help and make suggestions but not pushy. The stores are clean and well organized. They offer diverse classes that have helped make me an even better seamstress . I feel so lucky to have found Pins and Needles. Let's face it - they have the best captain of the ship - Jan (the owner). Don't hesitate to check out Pins & Needles. You won't be sorry! read more

Most of the workers are friendly but the owners a greedy and money hungry. The were pressuring a lot on a sale when I was in looking around at machines. I went in several times to look and test a few out before deciding on one, and I should have never purchased through them. I spent 3,000$ on and embroidery machine that was broke only 2 months later after only a handful of projects. I called to see if there was any warranty and they said nope but come in and it would cost 500 to have it tuned up and looked at and then depending on what needed fixed the cost would go up. I can't afford to put more money into it so my machine sat for several months unused. I looked around at other speciality sewing shops and found a few others who were MUCH more friendly and WAY more reasonably priced. I highly recommend looking around before purchasing any machine from them. My exact same machine was nearly 1,000$ cheaper at 3 other shops I found. DO NOT BUY A MACHINE FROM THEM. read more
