This place was great for my kids who have fun imaginations and no fear when it comes to art and painting. There was a table set up with small sized easels and canvases and each child picked the colors they wanted. They were free to paint whatever their heart desired and Bev would help with suggestions to make their art dreams come true. While the paint dries the children are taken into a side room where they can have pizza, cake, ice cream, and present opening before taking their masterpieces home. The grown up version went a little different, with appetizers and drinks first to loosen us up first before we ventured into the other room to paint. For my party we painted wine glasses. The freedom to paint anything was great for kids but not us adults who fear messing up and know our complete lack in artistic ability. Most of us turned to the internet for ideas. Bev was there to offer suggestions and encouragement as we painted. While it was nice to see all the different outcomes, I need step by step instruction to make art less intense and more enjoyable.

Do you find yourself asking "is it the weekend yet"? If you have answered yes to one or more of these, you are way overdue for a girls' night out. The first thing that comes to mind is dinner, drinks, and dancing, but let's face it--a night out on the town can be expensive. You don't have to spend a fortune to have fun. Just get creative when planning a fun, affordable experience with friends by challenging them to try something new and interesting. Here's an inexpensive idea that my friends and I tried that won't break the bank: Brush And A Bottle Paint Night. With a glass of wine in one hand and a paintbrush in the other, could you imagine a better way to unwind? Trashed Studio offers an all-inclusive three-hour instructor-led painting class with all supplies (sans the wine) provided for just $30! Local artist Bev Elliott will challenge you and your group of 6 to 12 friends to get creative in this step-by-step demonstration through the painting process. For those of you who have never picked up a paint brush, the ever-so-patient Bev is right by your side, ready to offer individualized tips and style suggestions. Her passion for painting is contagious, and you'll find yourself channeling your inner Monet--shocked by the hidden artists that you and your friends have become. I must admit that I was slightly hesitant about the evening since I'm far from a modern day artist. With Bev's guidance and acrylic paint, I quickly discovered my artistic abilities. I personally found acrylic paint to be very forgiving, easy to use, and any mistakes can be painted over (even when dry!) I enjoyed the night out with my friends, and getting to come home with my own piece of art was an awesome added bonus. The relaxing atmosphere of this cozy art studio is filled with laughter and good vibes from the moment your paint-filled brush hits the canvas, making that stressful work week you've had seem less overwhelming. I highly recommend Trashed Studio: Brush and a Bottle class for first time and/or experienced painters. For any event (girls' night, birthday, family get-together or work outing), plan your next paint party with Bev and be sure to check out other services Trashed Studio offers!  **As a disclaimer (let's not get confused by my writing style), this is not an advertisement, nor do I work for Trashed Studios. When I find something I love I give my honest opinion, and I never recommend products that I don't use or enjoy. Sincerelybs.com

This crafty type of experience is definitely up my alley even if it's not so for my BF, lol. It was easy enough to schedule and they were very accommodating with the time slots. Upon getting there though, it wasn't as organized or streamlined as I was expecting. The space is very small, cramped and low ceilinged. We went on a Sunday and it was packed with people. I had to ask about the class and wait an extra 6ish min for an instructor even though we arrived at the exact time of our registered class. I did enjoy the class but felt it was more of a demo, then you're on your own instead of step-by-step. Our instructor would jump in if you really needed help. For example, another worker just ended up finishing his bowl but he gave a brave start. It was fun and relaxing choosing paints and then painting but just wish there was more inspo provided or guidance. We were just left to our own devices but wish there could've been templates, example pictures or even stencils to help out less artistically inclined (I'm not speaking of myself, of course, but for kids or anyone who who could use some extra help). Checking out turned out to be an ordeal, and they should majorly redo this process to make it faster and more streamlined. My BF and I waited for more than 15min behind only one other person trying to pay. We also had our voucher gift printed out so not sure why it took the worker about 15min to enter it into the tablet and make it so awkward and complicated. The class came up to about $80 for the 2 of us so it's no chump change and is more expensive than some of the chains like Clayground, etc. They have a tip jar and ask for tips which feels in bad taste since there was virtually no service or even guidance besides the class portion. I can't imagine paying $40 for a clay piece here, painting and designing it myself, grabbing my own supplies, returning supplies, washing brushes, then paying a tip on top of that. One more annoying thing is that the worker told me to check their instagram page to see our pieces get pictured and I diligently reviewed every single post for the entire month and our pieces were never shown... The location is also pretty inconvenient from me. I would recommend a chain/franchised place with cleaner, less clutter, more space and better facilities.

The instructor was patient and helpful, which made the whole process feel really approachable--even for first-timers. A fun surprise was that we got to paint our pieces after they fired them! They moved the process along pretty quickly, and we got to choose our own colors and painting techniques, which made the whole experience feel really personalized. We were told we could pick up our finished pieces in about a week. They also offer other creative options like just painting pre-made pieces or working with glass. There were a variety of painting styles and tools available, and the overall vibe was very welcoming and creative. The service was friendly and accommodating. The only downside was that I noticed a girl who seemed to be in training, and the manager didn't treat her very kindly--there were moments that felt unnecessarily harsh and condescending, which was a little uncomfortable to witness. Overall though, it's a charming studio with a lot to offer for both beginners and returning visitors. I'd definitely go back!
