Such an amazing place to visit with a field trip, a community sponsored event, or a private event…read more Paul and Jenny do a fantastic job acting as your mission commanders in the space craft and at Mars mission control. It covers so many Next Gen standards, and my students absolutely loved it. One of my sixth grade boys upon entering the ship through the air lock announced "This is the most awesome field trip ever!" IMPORTANT NOTE: This program isn't just for elementary middle school kids. High school and college kids come to experience as well as private adult groups. We are so lucky to have the Challenger Learning Center in our area. There are a few throughout the country carrying on the mission of space exploration that both the Challenger and Columbia crews lost their lives fulfilling. It totally is an inspiration to our next generation of astronaunts. They have a facebook page NevadaChallenger. They share all of the community events and have a large display at the Harrah's Automobile Museum.

Great Scott! This is a fantastic space educational, group-oriented, community-funded,…read morereservation-required venue. Paul and Jenny McFarlane in spaceman blue jumpsuits gave each arrival a warm greeting and split up the touring and questions (even knowing quite a bit of misc questions like solar sunrises and astronaut training -having been to actual space camps) with other workers in blue uniform-shirts/vests. We came due to a pre-opening tour and special film announced on a school flier. (I'm very tempted to recruit my own group of 20+/- friends to run a mission with!!) They have mainly been focused on educational programs through schools with their portable dome or trailer, but with this location can offer an even broader offering of space experiences! Took a bit to find: Located at the Sparks High School campus in (one of many brick buildings) building N7 (look on the doors) on the back/East side of campus. Closest parking is if you park near or under the solar panels next to the modular buildings. They have a banner above their entry door with a side-rear view of the football stadium. Inside: The small foyer has stairs leading up to a classroom area and a short hallway before turning the corner into the "Mission Command station" area (lots of computer terminals that simulate the real space station control you see in movies). A connecting room is where the "Space station" is that has various areas like med bay, air lock/containment, pilot control, etc. There is also a mobile unit (I saw it at the Balloon Races last year) that hosts feature presentations including interactive flight/air races/ space trips (and more I'm sure). I also spied two techy 'Easter eggs' like a Star Trek intercomm (that makes true-to-series sounds) and Hal 9000-like A.I. unit (which I'm told interacts like Siri). A back open multi-purpose area with folding chairs and tables is where they showed a Nasa feature film (not Imax, go to the theater or planetarium if want that show) on a big screen TV and did a small Q&A session. It also has a spacesuit stand-in for kicks and picture posterity. There is only one unisex old-school (literally) bathroom complete with flashing flourescent light (it's the type you have to turn it off then on again to get it to stop but we all know it's not worth the effort and you could be done and out by the time get it right). While not the newest or high-techist looking place they did a great deal under a tight opening budget and I am excited to have a program like this here! Highly endorse!! Various classes and modules can be found on their website.

Really, I think there was a hidden agenda encouraging me to go, because he knew I'd buy something, which would mean another home cooked meal! I entered on the side of the building, and there were instructions to ring the bell for help. There was a room that had a small cold case. I already knew what I was going to get and it was in the case. Some beef bones and a packet of Korean ribs. I asked if they had bacon, but not at the time. The bacon has been requested a lot, and they purchase the pig from a third party, so she just said to call before coming down. The bones are big for my dogs, but I will see next time if they can cut them in half. I'll definitely be back when they have bacon.

Wolf Pack Meats mmmm mmmm!…read more Got some ground meat here and man did it bring it to the table! I also bought a steak to try it out and both these items were delicious. The meat was frozen in a sealed plastic bag. I was a little disappointed to see that at first but I tried it anyway. I bought 3 lbs of ground beef and a New York style cut steak. I took them home and used my best receipt for burgers. Wow! I was pleasantly surprised. I thought I was really going to hate them and be super disappointed. I like it and so did everyone else. I think I did make the paddy's to big because man was I struggling to get the second burger down. It's like when you like the taste of something so much you want to keep eating because you just can't stop. This place made me eat to much burger. Thanks for making me eat to much Wolf Pack Meats. I blame you for being to delicious. I will say parking is sparse but you don't have to worry about it to much. This place needs an update or a remodel of the building if you really want to by hyper critical but I don't really the damn meat is delicious. Keep killing those lovely delicious cows for me thanks! Well, I will definitely be back for more. Just thinking about those damn burgers make my mouth water. Damn it! I WANT BURGER NOW! Haha thanks for reading my review.

And very reasonable. And the service was excellent. They make great sandwiches and pair them with the most amazing salads! Or, if you prefer, you can just get the salad. There were four of us for lunch, and we each got something different. I got the roast beef sandwich, and the spinach salad with it. It was SOOO good - and big enough that I took half home! My husband had the turkey sandwich and the Chinese chicken salad. We're going back next week, and the only problem is trying to figure out which delicious combination to try!

A locally owned small business one-stop-shop for everything culinary, they offer specialty kitchen supplies, a cafe, and a culinary school. The owners Lara and Jay greeted me, and were so kind and helpful. Eager to learn new skills and meet more new friends, I signed up for three classes - Autumn Soups and Breads, Slow Cooker, and Sushi, all taught by Lara and assisted by her generous and attentive staff. Don't worry, you don't need to be a master chef to take a class here. No matter your level of experience, Lara's chatty style is accessible and interactive. In the demo style classes, you watch, learn, and get fed! The Sushi class was hands on, so fun! After Lara showed us various techniques, we worked in small groups, with staff floating around and helping us when we had questions. The end result was sharing our creations with our group and schmoozing over a glass of wine. I was impressed that before classes, I was asked to provide a list of allergies. In class, the staff KNEW this, and when I politely declined samples of foods I could not eat, they went out of their way, without being prompted, to offer accommodations. For example, they brought me a soup bowl without pasta and cheese. Instead of feeling like an outsider, it was nice to be treated with respect and concern. The NTI philosophy of good cooking comes down to quality ingredients, the proper techniques, and the right tools. Now, that I've gone home and tried some of the recipes, the proof is in the results. You can't take short cuts if you want good flavor. Lara gave us the low down on where to buy the freshest meats, fish, and produce, gave tips on cutting and cooking techniques, and made recommendations for awesome cooking tools specific to the recipes she demoed. I've bought a few things from their store that truly help me in the kitchen. The vegetable peeler alone has literally changed my life. I'm looking forward to taking more classes soon. I feel welcome there, and I have so much I still want to learn. NTI is an incredible resource, and we are lucky to have them!

It's also a great way to get people out of the house and socialize while learning a new activity. My fiancé and I took a photo class with mark and learned a lot about how to use our digital camera. There were all kinds of people taking the class and it was really cool to see everyone's pictures. The class was 4 weeks long and only $100.
