We LOVE Creative World. I cannot recommend it highly enough. We are so sad to graduate and leave this amazing school behind. Our kids: - were excited to be there every day - were surrounded by wonderful, nurturing teachers who balanced play with development. Our kids were beyond prepared for kindergarten in every sense. - made tons of friends, including from younger and older classes because there's some cross-over play time. It's small enough that every teacher knew our kids well. - loved the facility - the rooms have a super happy energy and the backyard is shady and full of activities - had the option to participate in a wide range of extra activities that the school coordinates to take place onsite - Spanish, soccer, swimming, gymnastics, dance Both of my daughters attended from age 3 onward and I only wish we'd started there sooner because the difference in their happiness between their first preschool and Creative World was so stark. We're so grateful to everyone there who played such a pivotal role in our children's lives (and ours in taking such good care of them!). My daughter started at Creative World as she was ready for a school that challenged her intellect and provided her a calm environment to play. My daughter used to hit someone everyday at her last school and once she transferred to Creative World, her behaviors just stopped. My daughter really enjoyed her time at Creative World. Miss Susan, Miss Emma, Miss Cheyenne, and Miss Vanitha were very communicative about things happening every day my daughter attended. We would receive email reminders about special activities the class would be having like water play days, pizza days, bike days etc. When the COVID shut down started, they continued to stay open to help first line responders families so that parents could continue to work. They had no cases during the entire time our daughter attended. They were great with adding extra safety protocols but maintained a fun and normal routine for the kids. Miss Susan, the owner, was super understanding and flexible with our daughter with make up days when she couldn't go to class. Our daughter made lots of friends during her year of preschool and she was so sad to say bye to her friends and teachers in July. read more

We LOVE Creative World. That has hands down been the best early learning experience we've had and have been at four centers over the course of putting two children through preschool/daycare. We struggled a lot initially with finding a preschool we liked, but after discovering this one we felt like we found the best so both of our children spent ages 2-5 with them. The staff is great and the owner Liz is a professional educator and the curriculum reflects this. There are lots of enrichment activities for the kids and both of our children have not only loved attending Creative World but have thrived there. Our daughter tested at the 97th-99th percentile once she started elementary school after foundational learning at Creative World. I can't say enough great things about this program. My daughter has been attending Creative World for 2 years. When we first started looking there weren't many available schools. So we were happy to find Creative World. My daughter has really blossomed there. You can tell the teachers really care about the children and Miss Susan knows every child by name. She always listens and responds to any situation that arises. At one point we did tour another shiny new school and I can tell you from the second I walked in, I never got the warmth that I feel at Creative World. Creative world has been with us through potty training ,growth spurt's emotional delays and Talon has come out amazingly strong,smart,kind and loving. 1. Curriculum? He just had an assessment and he is way beyond where he should be going into kindergarten! 2. He sings songs in Spanish that we know we did not teach him. 3. The playground is amazing!!! One of the main reasons we loved this school. Talon thrives in an outdoor environment! They have bike days, water days,plenty of outside playtime, and I never once felt talon was unsafe. Having had the chance to experience amazing educational support at doral academy, I can genuinely say the experience we received at creative world was nothing short of abusive. The director has sent me multiple abusive emails and has also emailed other parents to request positive reviews in which she attacked my personal character and the character of my child (4 at the time). Children are good, they may make bad choices but they are inherently good. Our current teachers at doral academy accommodate and strategize adhd in the classroom, we have occupational therapy support, constant teacher parent communication, speech therapy, and just a general positive vibe that appreciates and works with students. My "difficult" child who learned nothing at creative world is now thriving! Creative world is old school. Is does not work with neurodiversity and it does not understand positive parenting. Susan will scream at your child so be prepared for that. She will gaslight you. She will make you feel like a terrible parent if you tiny child that you've entrusted to her care makes a bad choice. Please think twice about sending your child here, it's taken year of therapy and school support to right the abuse we received here. read more

My daughter attended this school and I must say, it was the best decision I have ever made for my daughter. The staff is incredibly caring and helpful with all their kids. My daughter was with them from the age of 3 and I wouldn't change a thing. They have fun activities such as bike days, water days, super hero days, etc. In addition, they also work with Little One's Swim which is a swimming program for kids. My daughter attended twice a week and they took care of everything. (Little One Swim has an amazing team as well). Their academic program is designed for these young kids in a way that allows them to remember, not to mention their Spanish program. Cheyenne who is part of the staff was so attentive to my little girl and all the children. I would pick up my daughter at different times of the day so they never knew when to expect me and every time the place is clean, fun and all kids well taken care of. My daughter always happy to see her teachers and friends. I recommend this place to any parent who is interested in having their child learn in so many different way and have fun at the same time. The worst experience ever. Parents stay away. 1. Walked in numerous times at children being yelled at by teachers. 2. Terrible teacher and staff turnover. In two months most of the people who worked there quit. Including the support staff. 3. Website is fake and not updated in many years. 4. Spanish curriculum means teachers yelling Spanish at kids on the playground. 5. They don't follow any standardized curriculum. Just because the director says there is a curriculum it doesn't mean anything. If your kid ever went to school with a curriculum you would know the difference. 6. Walked in many times at kids physically pushing each other, hair pulling and teacher was completely unaware of the situation. 7. My child comes home withdrawn unlike the other school from last year, there is not much they come home with as far as learning new things or being excited about going to school. 8. The playground is too big and difficult for teachers to manage. If your kid is small I seriously would worry about their safety and on numerous occasions I was myself concerned for the little ones being together with big aggressive kids. 9. I watch teachers ignore children's bids for attention because they are too busy counting all the kids on the playground. 10. Kids are not engaged with in a meaningful way. There is a chaotic feeling and teachers seem very overwhelmed. 11. Kids watch tv and play on kindle frequently- not for educational purposes but for entertainment. I witnessed that personally. And my kid saw so many movies there as a form of babysitting. 12. Teachers are very nice but they are expected to do way too much and it's unrealistic. 13. The art projects are mostly teachers doing all of the work and not process art. Anyone who is actually an artist would know that art is about process not product. 14. Director's understanding of child development is very limited and it shows throughout the design of the entire program. Pros: Some teachers are really sweet. School is clean and they have a lot of materials and toys and books. I am so very sorry for all the parents who like myself fell into believing that their children are in good hands. I am terribly heart broken that this school is somehow rated number one because most things about it is for appearance only and a product of a good marketing campaign but not a truly educational program with a heart that follows appropriate preschool curriculum and structure. read more

I want to begin by stating how lucky these other parents are who trust this woman Susan with their little ones , the director Susan Heath Powers. I was a single mom when my toddler son attended Creative World and when my child did not " behave " like an obedient robot, this " educator " Susan rudely and insensitively scolded my child while simultaneously sharing the days' "inconvenience " ( dealing my child's separation anxiety bc believe me he cried uncontrollably every morning except one or two occasions when Shelly stepped in, she was like an angel compared to ALL of the other staff) anyway Susan proceeded to share her frustrations about my child not returning from outdoor play, he told me he still wanted to play hide and seek, fyi. I am a California transplant so standards were naturally high for me so when I called her to account about her unprofessional manner, like most non brown people, imho, I experienced major prejudicial behavior from her and her assistants, teachers, etc. When I explained to her that I prefer she discuss these matters privately, away from other parents and children, she looked like she wanted to strike me, I kid you not. I say that bc her "excuse" for her approach in caring for my son was that she came from a STRONG MILITARY background. Anyway, looks like all of the rave reviews demonstrate how different her approach is with other folks but I would not recommend this place at all , especially to POC ( ppl of color) bc in my personal experience ( btw an individual does not even have to even speak two words to me and I instantly can " sense " they are prejudiced, racist, xenophobic, etc.) I normally don't even bother with horrible energy like Susan but I figured since negative militant ppl like her love to have the last word, that I should do the right thing and maybe help out another vulnerable soul who may end up hustled by her. read more

My twin boys just had their last day at Creative World after 2 amazing years and we just can't say enough good things about them. I stayed home with my twins until they were three and realized their need for socialization and a more structured learning environment than I could give them. I was extremely anxious about leaving them and a little worried that they were developmentally behind. I didn't worry for long. From the beginning, Creative World has been a place where my boys were excited to go to every single day. Their teachers were so incredibly nurturing and loving that the adjustment period was very short and I think there was a total of three days that they cried when I left. They absolutely loved the playground , which is a beautiful space where the children can safely explore without having to be confined to the same tired area that so many other schools have. There are even days where the children can bring their bicycles and ride around the playground. The school also offers Water Play days and Super Hero Days, which the boys always looked forward to. The curriculum offered At Creative World is challenging but fun and I have been so pleased with how much my boys have learned. They had the opportunity to learn Spanish, science, art, and music all with monthly themes and are more prepared for kindergarten than I could have hoped for. Creative World is a wonderful, loving, supportive, caring place for children. My granddaughter has attended for the last few years and she absolutely loves it. Ms. Susan knows the children and has a personal relationship with them all. She expects the best from each of the kiddoes. This is the best preschool anyone could ever ask for. We have had two children come here the past three years, and we are so very sad to be leaving as we move out of state. When we came, Susan was the owner and one of the main reasons I chose CW- she was an owner/operator, she treated the teachers well, she knew all students and parents by name, and she was very well versed in early childhood education. About a year in for us she sold to Liz, and I was very nervous about this transition, thinking all the staff would leave, and it would not feel like a loving place for our kids anymore...but I'm so glad those fears were wrong, Liz is absolutely amazing. She has maintained the same warmth with her staff and with the kids and families, and she's very enthusiastic about her job. She had two children herself go through CW, and she used to be a teacher at a local elementary school. Any inclement issues (covid, weather, etc) she has handled so well and always tries to do right by the teachers and the families. The transition was pretty much seamless, and we are so grateful. This school is like family to our children and to us, and at the same time everyone is very experienced and professional. The teachers ALL have such amazing attitudes, they're "go-getters," they get enthused about any little thing going on with your kid, you can tell they really care for them. We've had short bouts at two other preschools/daycares (our oldest before we got a slot at CW, and our youngest before he was 2). So much of the staff we'd encountered before were lazy and lifeless about their jobs, and much of the management was either unprofessional (like not informing parents of new teachers on site) or they were too cold/professional (felt more like a business than anything else). Liz is also an owner/operator, so that makes an enormous difference, because she is involved in everything and really makes sure everyone is taken care of. I can't say enough about her and the teachers. I don't know how we're going to leave in a couple months, they have embraced our kids so lovingly and I wish I could bring the whole place with us!!:( Miss Sio has left for school, but she was a wealth of experience and so personable and caring. Her and Miss Bella were the first teachers to our oldest and really understood her spirit. Miss Bella is the most energetic and genuine caregiver you could ask for, she is so much fun and you can tell she really loves her job. Miss Vanitha absolutely loves our oldest and is quick becoming an "auntie," and I'm certain we will stay in touch with all three of them as our children grow up. Miss Jeanette is rising through the ranks and rightly so, I've never met anyone more suited for working with kids than she is, my youngest absolutely loves her and she's always singled him out when he needed it, they had running jokes and everything. Miss Debbie, Miss Jasmine and Miss Lindsey are the kindest and most gentle-hearted teachers who took extra steps to ensure our kids were comfortable, like a sixth sense. Miss Alex is a little bit newer but it's like she's always been there, her presence is so dynamic and she is over the moon about our youngest, we can tell she is excited to see him every day. Miss Cheyenne and Miss Emma have never directly taught our kids but they run things nicely and our children love them as well. We are unexplainably grateful to have had so many wonderful women in our children's lives, and we attribute Liz for keeping and maintaining this wonderful part of our kids' childhoods. read more

Our daughter has been going to Creative World for nearly two years now. It has been an AWESOME place for her to learn and grow. The school is a very advanced, secure facility with excellent teachers and staff. Our daughter is five years old and already knows her alphabet, numbers, and colors, in both English and Spanish. I like that the school teaches Spanish in addition to English with her growing up in today's bilingual America. Our family recently moved from Southern California and this school blows the schools down there out of the water. No school there is starting Spanish at such an early age which is a shame since language development begins at that time. Also, we had trouble with a lot of schools in San Diego showing a lot of movies and videos which my husband and I did not like. Creative World does not do that which we love and instead focuses on reading to the children in down time which helps with their development and imagination. In fact they have a calendar that gets sent to parents monthly and it shows whenever and if they will show an educational video and in our experience it has been about once in a month or two. The school is also very focused on feeding the best organic food and drinks to the children as snacks which I'm a huge fan of. My son has been at Creative World since he turned 3 (he is now 4). I am very happy with the school. What I like: There is an emphasis on learning Spanish in the classroom. For a time, the kids could even go to a Spanish class for an hour a week. That program has ended due to the teacher leaving for maternity leave, but I hope she will be back to continue. In just over a year, my son has learned quite a bit of Spanish, and is enjoying learning more with Grandma. All the age groups play together at several points throughout the day. When I toured many other day cares in the Reno area, I noticed that kids are separated by age, and almost never interact with kids in the other classrooms. This doesn't make sense to me. It's critical children learn to play with kids of different ages. It teaches them space awareness, compassion, and empathy, just to name a few. The outside play yard is HUGE, and LOVELY. And all the kids play together! And there are so many toys/bikes/etc for them to play with. There are a lot of extracurricular activities that parents can pay extra for their child to participate - e.g., swimming (its right next door! they come and pick up the kids from the school!), soccer, gymnastics, karate, etc. It can get pricey to participate in them all, but as a working mother, I love that my son is still able to experience these things within my busy schedule. The security is good, but its not overkill. This may be a downside for many parents, but I am very turned off by day cares where I have to walk my child through a cage just to get in. There's a fine line between being secure, and teaching children then need to be locked away from society. I personally am glad the security here is not "in your face", as I believe that sends the wrong message to children. What I don't like The only reason they lost one star is due to the teacher turnover. It seems to only affect the class my son happens to be in. In his first year, he went through 5 different teachers in one room. But I noticed all the other classrooms had very stable teachers. When I asked the director about it, she assured me that it was a fluke, and I believed her. He's since moved up a classroom, and again, his classroom seems to be the only one affected by high turnover. this year, he's gone through 3 different teachers, while his previous classroom has seemingly settled on the same few teachers. I know the director, Susan, is very particular about the teachers she hires. I appreciate her very high standards, she is a wonderful director. But that does mean teachers that don't fit her high standards don't last long, and are hard to come by. For some reason, my son has experienced the bad side of the equation. Despite the teacher turnover, my son LOVES this school. He is happy to dropped off in the morning, he tells me all about how much fun he has each day, and I am very pleased with his academic performance. They don't pressure testing at this school, but encourage learning through play. My son excels in this environment. read more

I was delighted during my visit to Creative World to hear an employer speak so kindly to a teacher who was unable to come into work due to an illness. I am a stay at home mom with a son that starts kindergarten this year. He's never been to preschool and we travel for my husbands work so we move a lot. We moved to Reno temporarily and we really wanted our son to have at least some preschool experience before starting kindergarten. I'm one of those weary moms and I'll be honest, I was kind of terrified of leaving him with strangers. We toured five schools and I knew from the second I walked into Creative World that it was the one! The staff and owner never felt like strangers and soon felt like family. They were so nice, the place was clean and I never felt like I walked into chaos. My son, well he was in heaven! He absolutely loved it! He went part-time and he begged me to go every day. I actually tried to pick him up early on his birthday and he cried so I let him stay all day. That says a lot! I loved the art work he brought home from daily activities and I never worried about him when I dropped him off. The classrooms are spacious and the playground is amazing. Unfortunately after six months we moved again. My son was so sad and he always asks when he can go back. Breaks my heart and we miss Creative World so much! read more

There are so many things that we love about this school - it is hard to know where to start! The teachers and staff are all excellent, kind and professional. There is a passion for early childhood education that starts with the director, Miss Susan, and is evident throughout the school. My son is in the 4/5-year-old classroom, and there is a wonderful balance between preparation for Kindergarten and fun activities. Miss Nikki is so creative in her class projects - she is an incredible teacher! The playground at Creative World is HUGE and AMAZING! I haven't seen anything like it in Reno. There are also a bunch of extra activities that kids can participate in onsite - swimming lessons, music monsters, karate, etc. There are lots of options! This place is a hidden gem in Reno. The staff that works here is extremely unprofessional. They don't take their time with the children individually and focus on circle time being their main curriculum. I have witnessed teachers get frustrated at children for not sitting quietly in a group of over 20 and remove children from the group to sit by themselves as punishment. Anytime we saw the art projects by our children it was clear that they didn't have the freedom to be as creative as possible. The teachers (who stick around) are very sweet with the children. However, the director Susan, is incredibly rude and judgmental. I am a step parent of a student and she continuously took me off general email announcements because I wasn't a parent - including announcements about snow days when bother of her parents were at work so I had no idea if I could drop the child off or not. She explicitly told a former employee she didn't like me because I had tattoos. When the child who attended got lice from her older siblings (normal, school thing that happens) she totally shamed us for it. Susan recently sent an email asking for positive reviews (heard this from my fiancé as I've been cut from the email list) and said pretty nasty things about the person who left a negative review and her children! She also admitted to trying to take it down, but Yelp wouldn't let her.... which is the point of Yelp. We have never felt our child wasn't safe or attended to, but unfortunately were made to feel unwelcome many times. Would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I recently moved here from Santa Monica, where both my sons were in the most amazing school, a school I was afraid I would never be able to replace. I was anxious and sad to leave. As soon as I set foot in Creative World, all my worries were put at bay. The facility is enormous inside and out, you can tell how much love and thought has been put into each detail. The outside area is nicer than any park you'll find and the staff is wonderful!! I am always greeted with a big smile and my son just runs off to play as soon as we arrive. Creative World is the best preschool with diverse programs and balanced structure. My children attended for 4 years and were even able to return for additional help during public school shut down. My only regret is not starting them sooner! They learned socialization, organization and were prepared for elementary school. I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful school. My son has been enrolled for two years and my daughter has been going for one year. The owner is so hands on and Involved. She has such pride in her business and loves the children on a personal basis. The staff is wonderful, the school is beautiful and clean the activities are so educational. This is absolutely a school and not a daycare. I have raved about it to my friends and once they saw for themselves they made transfers from other schools. Take the time to tour this school. My daughter spent a year at Creative World. I wasn't impressed when I went to look, because it seemed cramped inside, but it was the nicest one close to our house. This school is absolutely not the best school in Reno. It is just the best advertised. There are a few good teachers there, but the three women who run it are always frantic and screaming at the kids. One kid was even left on the playground alone for three hours because the teachers forgot about him. If you check childcareinspections.washoecounty.us you can read the report. Also they have no curriculum for the kids. My daughter actually regressed in her alphabet and numbers. She knew so much more before starting here! The kids frequently watch movies and play iPads. In my opinion school is for learning and playing. Also they have optional things that they charge a lot for, it seems unfair to me because kids that can't afford it have to feel left out. For example they have pizza day on Fridays and charge $4 a kid. They get the pizzas 2 for $10. So basically they are charging each kid what it costs to buy a whole pizza and my daughter might eat two pieces on a good day. They also have "dance and gymnastics" for the kids who can afford it, but the kids who can't have to stay behind. The dance and gymnastics is just kids running around the room chaotically, but still, it's not right. If you're going to offer it at the school make it for everyone and advertise it as a part of the school. While at the school my daughter was diagnosed with a sensory integration disorder. I utilized every resource i could find to help her and kept in close contact with the school about what was going on. When something would happen they would call me at work screaming at me as if I had done something wrong. When you're calling to give someone bad news you don't call screaming, you just say "I'm sorry to tell you this but...". My coworkers actually got together and wrote a complaint letter about the rude calls they got from the school looking for me at work. They make me feel like my daughter was a bad and were so negative, but they were with her full-time for a year and as suppose it "professionals" couldn't make a difference for her at all. These people advertise as being in business for 30+ years, but they are the most unprofessional people I've come in contact with in town, and due to circumstances with my daughter, I have worked with a lot of people in the childcare field. Let's remember it is called Child CARE for a reason. There are people who really care about children and their heart is in it and then there are people trying to make a buck. These people are unfortunately the latter. I gave them 2 stars because they have a few great teachers and a nice play yard, but what good are great teachers with shitty management? Now my daughter is at a new school. She has been there for a month and is doing amazing. It is a huge school, but she is thriving there and literally hasn't shown a single one of the behavior she was having a creative world. The teachers love her and she is really happy. Rosie just finished her 3rd and final year at Creative World, and it was sad to leave. They worked hard through the years to provide a safe and engaging environment for the kids where they learn right from wrong in a supportive way, and we're very glad we made the decision we did. Rosie made great friends and virtually all the kids in her classes were the kind of kids we were happy to have Rosie be around, sweet, innocent, and playful. When we first looked for a place for our baby Rosie to join when she turned 2, we went all over Reno and toured many places, most of which turned us off a lot for various reasons -- we only wanted the very best for Rosie. Creative World was the first we walked into where the kids looked like they were happy, having fun, and engaged by the teachers, and after 3 years we feel they maintained that environment throughout. My impression is that the owner, Susan, works very hard for the welfare of each child. read more

My son has been going to Creative World since he was two. It has been incredible to see how much he's learned and blossomed. They not only follow a great, fun curriculum but they also teach manners and respect. All of the teachers and staff are so warm and friendly, I love knowing how safe and cared for he is there. My daughter has been going to Creative World Children's Academy for about 2 1/2 years and I couldn't be more happy with the school. It is beautiful and open and has a ton of widows to bring the sunlight in. The playground is huge, open, and so much fun for the kids! Especially on bike days Ms. Becky is Shay's teacher and we just love her communication and positive attitude. She gives us a detailed daily report on my daughters day. Ms. Shelly, Ms. Sue, and Ms. Susann have been more than accommodating and so helpful in so many ways. I would highly recommend this school! read more

We love this placed its the best decision we have made for our child thus far. Disregard that 2 star review couldn't be further from the truth. We were at a previous school and are so glad we changed him to Creative World. He has fantastic multiple teachers, they taught him how to count, add, write, and even read a book on his own before entering kindergarten. This credit is fully on the school, not us. All the kids are great and the school jumps on misbehavior making a positive fun environment for those that are good listeners. No problem children here, teachers goals are a great environment. They get to bring bikes on some days and ride, water guns on sprinkler day. Our son loves it. And, many of his classmates will be in his elementary school, making the transition flawless. This is a premier school in the area, so if you are thinking of joining in the future visit now, there is often a waiting list, visit it now. You'll be happy you put your child here. read more

My son has only been going to this preschool for about 3 weeks, and he loves it! Ms. Susan and all her staff are the best! My son really loves his teachers and all the kids there. The school is very clean, well-organzed, and safe! I was very impressed with how much my son has improved since he started going there. He is talking a lot more and better than before and he's using more please and thank you's. When we ask him how his day went, he gets so excited trying to recall what he did that day..which usually he says, "I play and I paint!" I love having him in this preschool because I can see that he is learning and developing just like they said that he would. And I know that he is very well taken care of and that he is having a lot of fun! Defnitely the best preshool in my book and I'm so glad that we made the decision to enroll him. read more

I love Creative World! My daughter has gone there for close to 2 years now and has had a wonderful experience. I feel that the staff/teachers have really taken a personal interest in her as well as our whole family. She is constantly learning new things, often time blowing my mind with her new found knowledge. The curriculum is really impressive and nicely structured. The facility is nice and clean and the backyard playground is simply awesome. I always feel good about leaving her at drop off because I know she is in wonderful care and will have not only an educational, but a FUN day filled with art, music, and friends.
