Despite providing them with extensive resources on how to care for a child with hearing loss, they refused to implement any of the suggestions or accommodations. This has only made my son feel like an outsider and a target, which is heartbreaking as a parent. The daycare's lack of empathy and understanding for children with disabilities is clear. My son was penalized for age-appropriate behavior like hitting and kicking, which he doesn't exhibit at home or with friends, and certainly not at Sunday school. This behavior, typical for his age just recently started within the last month. This behavior is age appropriate and was certainly not a continued issue. When asked about how it was happening they could only provide excuses about the teachers, other students and never answered my questions. The communication between teachers is abysmal, and the high turnover rate among staff only exacerbates the issue. There seems to be a lack of commitment to consistent care, and the owner, Joanne, seems to view children as dollar signs rather than individuals in need of genuine care and attention. Teachers are trained, but it doesn't seem to make any difference--there's little to no real progress in creating a nurturing environment. The classroom is chaotic, with 16 toddlers crammed into a small space, leaving no room for meaningful interaction or learning. It feels more like a fishbowl than a place for children to grow, and it is impossible for a child to thrive in this kind of environment. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for your child's care. There are plenty of other daycare facilities that are equipped to handle children with special needs or any kind of disability. (A handful of reviews have stated this regarding children with disabilities, learning delays or special needs) This place is just not the right fit and has made what should be a positive experience a stressful and disheartening one for both my child and myself.

Our kids: - were excited to be there every day - were surrounded by wonderful, nurturing teachers who balanced play with development. Our kids were beyond prepared for kindergarten in every sense. - made tons of friends, including from younger and older classes because there's some cross-over play time. It's small enough that every teacher knew our kids well. - loved the facility - the rooms have a super happy energy and the backyard is shady and full of activities - had the option to participate in a wide range of extra activities that the school coordinates to take place onsite - Spanish, soccer, swimming, gymnastics, dance Both of my daughters attended from age 3 onward and I only wish we'd started there sooner because the difference in their happiness between their first preschool and Creative World was so stark. We're so grateful to everyone there who played such a pivotal role in our children's lives (and ours in taking such good care of them!). We've since recommended it to a number of friends, who've all had similarly fantastic experiences.

My daughter used to hit someone everyday at her last school and once she transferred to Creative World, her behaviors just stopped. The teachers are caring, calm, fun, and understand the needs of my daughter. The playground is the best in Reno and she has extracurriculars provided through the school. I know my daughter is safe and loved while she's at school. The owner Liz is understanding and knows what's important to families and I feel so blessed to call Creative World our preschool.

There are a lot of mixed reviews, so I wanted to contribute to the 5 star ones since that is a better reflection of the care they provide. Our daughter has now been in two of their classrooms and we had great experiences with both. They have a camera system for parents to log in and check out what is going on in the room throughout the day which provides some great peace of mind. They have a schedule they follow throughout the day of different activities and learning opportunities for the kids. We bring food for our daughter but they also have snack times where they provide some additional food. Our daughter has learned some great skills from her time here and we love how much socialization she gets from being around the other kids. The rooms are largely organized by different age ranges and they move up once they reach certain milestones, not necessarily right when they reach a particular age. The daycare itself feels secure, you have to enter two different codes when you arrive and then it unlocks the main entrance for you to come inside. The staff are all wonderful and take great care of our girl. The price is affordable compared to other daycares in the area. We are thankful to have found Blue Kangaroo and look forward to continuing to work with them!

Their schedule for activities is so much fun. Some days they are getting to enjoy the beautiful outdoor pool at the facility. Other days they go on a healthy walk along the Caughlin area with all of its beautiful landscaping, ponds to go get frozen yogurt. How cool is that? I'll be honest... Mom wants to stay and hang out too! Oh wait can't forget to mention that is is for the kids that are a tad younger like mine is. The bigger kids get to do the Adventure camp. They load up every morning and get to explore the great fun we can find in our area! The loft where the kids get to hang out when not doing outdoor activities is great. A nice reading area that can be lounged in while looking out the window. Various activity areas where they can enjoy sensory & art. Everything is tidy and clean. Which if you are like me that will be one of the first things I look for. You can't expect perfection in a room that's filled with children tearing it up but when you can see how much they keep up on everything THAT is a huge appeal. Hidden gem I wish I would have known about last Summer. Will 1000% be making sure to get my child back in for next Summer!

To Prospective Indigo Parent/s, We had the pleasure of…read moreenrolling our three year old daughter in Indigo Preschool and feel that the very least that we can do to show our appreciation for Ms. Peggy and her learning center is to write the following referral. We have been blessed to have her in our family's lives. If you are taking the time to find and research potential preschools for your child or children, like us, you are likely looking for a difficult to find combination of education, creativity, and a loving atmosphere. Our children are often going to spend a large portion of time at the preschool we choose to place them. Since there are many views and opinions on how to raise children, it is important to match the school you choose with your values as a parent. We (Parents of an Indigo Child) hope the following helps you to decide if Indigo is a match for you and your child. Setting, in our opinion, is extremely important and was almost enough in itself to sell us on Indigo. Located in Verdi, NV and facing the western mountain with no obstruction, Indigo is a world away from the confines of the city. Within this setting is a lovingly and painstakingly created space that Ms. Peggy and Mr. Peggy () built themselves. Huge floor to ceiling windows flood the space with light and remind the kids that they are surrounded by nature. Indigo is always spotless and inviting. Everything is centered around the preschoolers from dish cupboards at their height to the library of books to the great room full of creativity driven toys, costumes, and art supplies. As an adult, you wish you were 4 years old again going to school! This is a loving atmosphere. Our three year old comes home every day with at least one art project, usually more, and her work with writing her name, numbers, and tracing letters. However, the school also has four and five year olds and we see their work hanging on the board showing age appropriate, and often more advanced, tasks. One of our child's parents is a kindergarten teacher and we can tell you with certainty that Ms. Peggy is not just going through the motions. She is creating lesson plans and catering to each one of the different ages and personalities with great results. In fact, she has made better progress with our child's writing and her fine motor skills than we have! As we drive down the street she calls out the letters on signs and has even started to sound words out on occasion. Indigo is definitely a space for education. Whenever we walk in to pick up our child the kids are always playing creatively and it takes a good bit of convincing to coax our child into the car. The kids are not being forced to be creative; however, Ms. Peggy surrounds them with creative toys and space. For example, Indigo has a walk-in closet full of costumes, hats, wigs, and props where the kids can play out any scenario they want in the play room that is filled with wood trains, cars, foods, kitchen, tracks, roads, and on and on. They can create and play however their imaginations desire, we wish we would have had this space as children. We almost forgot the baskets, tubs, and drawers filled with crafting and painting materials where the kids can engage at will in-between structured learning and eating times. After a day with five kids playing with all of the above we are amazed every morning that all is back in place as though a kid-hurricane did not pass through the day before. Ms. Peggy has endless energy and a palpable passion for creative playing and learning at Indigo. Finally, we take great effort to feed our child with organic and non-GMO foods and thankfully, so does Ms. Peggy. We are relieved to not have to pack a special lunch for her everyday and that she can sit and eat with all the other kids without us worrying over her diet. On the ride home we ask her what she had eaten and it is always a healthy mix of fruits, vegetables, starches, and proteins that we seem to fail getting her to eat at home. Well played Ms. Peggy! On warm days there is a space to eat outside in her beautifully built playground. Healthy food and hours outside in nature, yes please. While we could go on for pages, there is really nothing that could be said that would paint the whole picture. You need to go to Indigo Preschool and see the space and meet Ms. Peggy for yourself. After meeting with many people and facilities we knew on the spot that this was the place four our daughter and looked no further. We hope you take the opportunity to talk with Ms. Peggy and decide if she and Indigo is right for you and your child. Thank you for reading and maybe we will see you when school starts back up! Proud Parents of an Indigo Child.

Events like the family lunches, Mother's Day and Father's Day celebrations, and holiday parties make it feel like more than just a school--it's a community.
