They didn't ever contacted me to let me know if her name was pulled or not. I went to the school to check and the lady at the front office was kind of kicking me out of the school saying: if you didn't receive a phone call from us this mean that there is no spot for her. I asked her to check for my daughter's name and she kept repeating the same sentence loudly in the most rude way without even bother herself to check the name list. I really wonder how those people are supposed to teach kids manners and good behavior?

This is our third year at Hunsberger and we love our school! All of the teachers are great, many…read moreof them being Nationally Certified, which puts Hunsberger as one of the highest in the State rankings. Molly Lauf, our Principal, is wonderful with the children and is always looking for ways to improve the school. The Hunsberger PTA puts on several family-friendly events throughout the year and purchases much of the state of the art technology that the school district does not provide. In addition to purchasing equipment, the PTA also supports several programs that are not offered or paid for through the district, such as Foss kits, Kindness Enrichment programs and art. The Hunsberger art program offers all students opportunities to learn about artists and different mediums such as watercolors, oil pastels, acrylics as well as ceramic art. I love seeing all of the hallways lined with the art the kids have created! Not only is the school itself great, but the parents, many of whom volunteer their time on a regular basis are fantastic and always willing to help each other and look out for each others children. I am SO glad that I chose to live where I do, and part of that decision was based on the schools we are zoned for! All in all, this school is amamzing.......now, if only there was something we could do about the chaotic parking lot traffic! (Ha!)

One teacher and an aid....way crowded throughout. Our son was too distracted with a big class, so we were discouraged, but by years end our K student was reading end of first grade readers! They do group kids by level of learning even within a class. Our 2nd grader was in a class of 36 kids, with two teachers, but it was way large. They did again tiered learning, so he did great too. The parents make the school awesome.

There is high turn over with in the staff and the board has a problem with being transparent and upfront with the parents. The atmosphere of the student body is very clicky and heavy with favoritism which might be the reason for a bullying epidemic there. The cost to benefit just isn't there when you are literally getting the same education in the public school system. This school started out strong when it was first built but over the past 5 years it has really gone down hill while its tuition increased due to the population growth in the area.

They are rude confrontational and unprofessional. I came to pick up my student as was greeted like I was inconveniencing them. Well her. I believe her name is Rachel Scott. No smile. Nothing pleasant. For one I stood at the window while she continued her conversation with the young custodian and when he told her I was there she looked at me didn't smile or greet me personally at all. For two She said what do you need and said give me your id. Then when I told her why I was there she said oh ok. Then just gave me my id back and said the student is over there. Turn around and went back to her desk. I was shocked. Completely unprofessional. I shouldn't be shocked beings she's treated multiple other parents the same way, my children's mother included. She really makes the office feel like your dealing with the county jail and not an elementary school. She really is the face of the school and what I dealt with wasnt very pretty.

We're…read moreso glad that there's a school close to us that not only teaches kids academics but also teaches them moral lessons which I think is the most important. The staff here are great too. They do care about the kids and are very attentive to their emotional and academic needs. One thing that is amazing as well is that it's a small school so the staff knows pretty much all of the children. Ms. Angie and Mrs. Baeckel greet each kid by name and their families during drop offs and pick ups every single day- rain or shine. We really appreciate the extra care and attention because you know they're safe having two pairs of watchful eyes to see who comes in and out of the property. My son also is learning so well. His reading I think is advanced and they teach them how to write in cursive at a young age too. He's made lots of friends and even the parents know each other and are connected as well. I don't think you will get that in a big/public school. We are happy that we enrolled our child here. We will stay for a while.

The King's Academy is an absolute treasure! We are so incredibly thankful to be sending our son…read more(and in a couple of years our daughter as well) to this school! We did a lot of research before deciding where to begin kindergarten, and toured several schools, hoping to find one that stood out above the rest. The King's Academy is it. I can't imagine a better place for an excellent Christian education in the Reno/Sparks area. The staff are wonderful. The teachers are so amazing, experienced, loving, compassionate, and we really can feel how much they truly care for our son. He is having the most wonderful experience. I can honestly say that since my son began attending The King's Academy, he has come into his own genuine, authentic faith. He loves God, he knows God better, he asks so many great questions. Best of all, he tells me all the time now "I love you so much Mom, but I love God more." It is such a comforting feeling to have the utmost confidence in both the quality of the academics, as well as the spiritual environment of the school. We love the smaller class sizes and greater level of attention that the teachers are able to pay to each student, and therefore their enhanced ability to tailor the education to each child's unique needs. I attend chapel every week (parents and families are always welcome to join the students there) and absolutely love it! I love seeing the children having a great time and also receiving such quality, Christ-centered Biblical teaching. It's wonderful. There have been so many times that, unprompted, my son will ask me "Mom, can I please keep going to King's Academy all the way to 8th grade? I love it there!" What more could you want to hear from your child? We cannot recommend The King's Academy enough, it is one of the best decisions we've ever made for our children.

The approach to childhood here is refreshing and grounded in imagination and outside play. This is not a tablet and government lunch school! They make room for genuine kind relationships with the children and families that makes for a real and heartfelt community.
