We celebrated our yearaversary recently and I can unequivocally say that this is the best decision I have ever made. The whole office is sweet and kind and do everything to help my family to be better. The gym is gigantic and full of fun incentives for the kids to earn should they be good in their session. I am grateful for every word my kids speak. Telehealth during COVID was difficult but we made it work. The speech pathologists are always learning and open to new ways to help kids. I have taken my son now to Advanced Pediatric Therapies in Sparks, NV for almost 2.5 years, and the change in him is undeniably remarkable! This place is, undeniably, THE BEST!!! He has attended Speech Therapy for the entire time, Occupational Therapy for part of the time (for behavior issues that he was having--partly from the frustration of not being able to communicate his needs and wants, and partly from being diagnosed with ADHD). He also attends Vision Therapy for pediatric behavioral optometrist-diagnosed vision weaknesses, which contribute to his dyslexia, amongst other issues. First off, about Advanced Pediatric Therapies: this facility is the best of the best! I drive twice weekly from Carson to Sparks, and would do it daily if need be, because they are that good! Their front desk staff are so lovely, and Coleen, in particular, will always take the time to answer any billing question that you may have. I have NEVER seen a single person at the entire facility ever have anything but a warm, genuine smile on their face! This facility is AMAZING! Occupational therapy, Vision Therapy, probably most of Physical Therapy and Adaptive Therapy take place in the converted warehouse, which you have to see to believe! It's full of giant structures, on which different kinds of special swings, ropes, bars, inner tubes, etc can be hung. There are areas for slides, sensory bins, white boards, large open areas for riding all sorts of scooters, for skipping, hopping and climbing around different, fun, colorful obstacles! There are marbles, bean bags, trains, cars, and so much more! And everything is used in such creative ways. It's a candyland! Speech Therapy (and probably some other kinds that I don't know about), take place in large, modern offices, many of which have floor to ceiling windows looking out on to greenery. They are full of games which are incorporated in to the session. The therapists: I (my son) has worked with 2 INCREDIBLE therapists during his years at APT, and I could not possibly recommend either of them more HIGHLY!!! Megan M. (Speech Therapist): Megan is soft-spoken, but assertive with the child, and knows well how to engage the child in to talking through play during the first sessions. She is wonderful at picking up on when the child needs to be pushed, versus when the child may be getting frustrated and needs a play break. Her personality is warm, kind, empathetic, and that she truly cares about helping your child. She knows her job well, and is excellent and truly skilled at it! (We had school speech therapists before this, and he got nowhere, but he has made miraculous strides with Megan!). Kelsie (Occupational Therapist/ Vision Therapist): My son runs and jumps into Kelsie's arms every time he sees her-- lol! He adores her, because she has the ability to make everything fun, even Vision Therapy. It takes place in the converted warehouse, and she will set up "exercises" like having him swing on his stomach, Superman-style, in a net, while he has to use depth perception to grab a bean bag from her hand (as he swings by), and then throw the beanbag at a target in front of him. Another game is for him to wear an eye patch, while holding a plastic cup, and she rolls marbles on the ground at him, that he has to trap in the cup. This obviously exercises one eye much harder, as depth perception is taken away by wearing the eye patch. Kelsie is kind, bubbly, caring, and extremely creative! APT takes insurance, but they also sometimes have some deals if they don't take your insurance. (You'd have to ask.) They are absolutely worth ever penny! Early intervention is key, and this is where you are going to get the best care, hands down! You may have to go on a waiting list to get in, but do it! You won't be sorry!!! read more

I don't know that there are enough words in the English language for me to properly gush about how much I adore this facility. My son's pediatrician referred us to Advanced Pediatrics Therapies for Occupational Therapy services for my son when he was 5. Faced with a waiting list for an initial appointment, I almost asked to have our referral changed to a different practice, but made the decision to wait it out a bit based on some glowing recommendations from other moms. Every week when we head off to my son's weekly appointment, I am thankful that I made that initial decision to wait for them to have an opening. While the OT that we work with each week is certainly the primary reason that I am so happy with our experience here, I'd give an extra star, if possible, for the overall excellence of the staff. From the first phone call, to filling out paperwork, to billing (including pesky insurance questions), the office staff has been amazing to work with. I'm also quite impressed with how personable and encouraging all of the therapists are of all the kiddos being seen at any given time. The therapists all seem to know one another's clients by name and will comment on their progress and cheer them on for how well they're doing. It's been just short of a year now that we've been going weekly for Occupational Therapy, and the progress that my son has made with the guidance of his therapist is ASTOUNDING. The motor gym is well equipped with all kinds of fun-meets-function goodies, which makes for a great time for The Boy along the way. She's been there to walk our entire family through understanding his needs and the ways we all can work together to help him thrive on a daily basis, and when my son started Kindergarten this past fall she was a true lifeline as we worked to help make the transition as smooth as possible for him and to help us maneuver our way through these first experiences working with his needs in a general education classroom setting. We could not be happier about having all of the wonderful folks at Advanced Pediatric Therapies on our team. read more

Amazing! They have changed my daughters life and future. The progress they made with her in just the first two weeks is nothing short of a miracle. They are so very patient and kind and truly love the kids and their work. Whitney (occupational therapy) and Kelley (Speech) are saints and there is a special place in heaven for them. I can never begin to sing their praises or thank them enough. The secretary is also an angel. She helps you find resources for anything your child or you may need. They will always work with you to make sure your child gets the care they need regardless of the circumstances. I am forever in debt to them. I cannot recommend this business enough. read more

We go here for occupational therapy and nutritional services for my child with severe food allergies. They offer a wide range of care and experts and have staff and student staff (from UNR) who seem to love thier jobs. Everyone is very professional and caring. The facility is beautiful and each family is assigned thier own treatment coordinator. It's easy to arrange appointments but some services require a long wait for appointment dates so plan accordingly. read more

I cannot even begin to explain how incredible the staff is at Advanced Pediatric Therapies! My child began going here about 6 months ago for speech services at just under 4 years old. The progress she has made in such a short time is remarkable. We went from only us (mom & dad) being able to understand her to her peers, teachers and extended family being able to clearly understand now what she is trying to say. This has given her so much more confidence and she no longer gets super frustrated when trying to communicate with her peers and teachers. She still has a long way to go, but with the help of Miss Sarah and the crew at APT, I'm confident she's headed in the right direction. She loves the play therapy and the kindness that the whole team here exudes. Everyone at APT is so professional and kind. I was getting my son help using the speech services. Since he's in Elementary school he needed to be after school they originally accomadted and gave him a 4. They kept telling us it wasn't covered by insurance but I had spoke with my insurance company who said it was covered.. they kept sending us bills I made 1 payment but since I new the insurance company WAS going to pay that's all I made.. I call my insurance company and they keep saying that advanced pediatrics wasn't sending the required information to process the claims. I spoke to the billing manager on several occasions told them what needed to be submitted so they would get paid.. got another letter stating they were canceling our further appointments until it was paid..which would be understandable..but then after them cancelling our appointments called us and said we were still scheduled saying something about a no show?!? 2 weeks later after I emailed them once again the declaration they finally sent the right paperwork and were paid.. like I had been saying the whole time So call to make another appointment but since now they can't make more money off of us because we have good insurance they haven't been able to get him back in.. we have been on a "wait list" for 4 months.. In my opinion this place isn't about helping kids it's about who they can get the most money out of so if your paying $40 instead of 9 then you can get an appointment.. very sad and disturbing beyond disappointed with this establishment. read more
