Post tendon surgery.

Shoutout to the whole Nevada Hand Therapy crew! Everyone works together well to get the mission done, Christine has been taking good care of my pinky and ring finger since I cut one of each tendon in both. My pinky started contracting really bad due to my lack of transportation but they've been really patient with me! Thank you Christine for everything, I really can't thank you enough. Due to dedication, hard work, plus patience, we've made incredible progress. Lastly, shoutout to Zoey for the best finger massages in the world. I had one appointment with her & really seen a big difference afterwards. I love everybody in this workplace, I consider y'all like family now. Thank you again for taking me in. Y'all the best.

Getting there, it's straight!

After years of play…read moretherapy, counseling, and psychiatric treatment, she was still living in a constant state of worry. Her anxiety and OCD tendencies had become so overwhelming that she washed her hands until her skin was raw. We felt like we had tried everything, yet nothing seemed to bring lasting relief. Then we started a 12-week program with Whitney. By week four, the compulsive handwashing had completely stopped. By week ten, she accomplished something she'd dreamed about for years but had always been too afraid to do--she got her ears pierced. By the end of the program, she was sleeping peacefully again, willing to try new things, and smiling with a confidence we hadn't seen in years. Most importantly, it felt like we got our little girl back. Our fearless, curious preemie was finally shining through again. As a parent, there is nothing more heartbreaking than watching your child struggle and feeling powerless to help. Radiant Child gave our family hope when we had almost run out of it. If you've tried everything and still feel like you're missing the final piece of the puzzle, please consider Radiant Child. It truly changed our lives, and I will be forever grateful.

I am old and don't really know how Yelp works as my plan was to write 2 reviews for 2 different…read moretherapies we receive from Desert Peak Therapies. I didn't realize this wasn't an option, so now I am posting this "update" to review Speech Therapy Services separately. :) We currently see Miss Laura for speech therapy weekly and she has been wonderful. One of my children is very moody and has some behavior concerns - especially when working with new people. Laura has always been so patient, understanding, firm and predictable, but also fun and appreciative of the comedy that happens when working with children! My child was reluctant at first to transition to her as a new provider, but now he looks forward to his sessions - even stating in the car "No - wrong way!" when we pass by to get to other destinations when it isn't our therapy day. That is a good sign. My child began speech therapy in another state at a young age, so Laura is our 4th or 5th SLP now. Even with an early diagnosis, Laura is the one who had the insight and the drive to put in the work and get approval for him to have a speech device provided and paid for through his insurance and it has been life-changing for him, and for those who work with him and take the time to learn to use the device. This has made a huge difference in his ability to access the community, interact with family, and sharpen his social skills at school and with peers. We are very grateful. We were one of the first clients for Desert Peak, and things run so smoothly at this clinic, we had no idea that they were brand new as a business at the time. With multiple children who have multiple therapies, scheduling can be a nightmare, but at Desert Peak, we have been very blessed to be accommodated. Our family highly recommends Desert Peak Therapies for Speech services - especially as their practice grows. If you are looking for a quality clinic with people who care about you and your child's best outcomes from the moment of intake this is the place to come. Thank you Desert Peak Therapies!

I have taken my son now to Advanced Pediatric Therapies in Sparks, NV for almost 2.5 years, and the…read morechange in him is undeniably remarkable! This place is, undeniably, THE BEST!!! He has attended Speech Therapy for the entire time, Occupational Therapy for part of the time (for behavior issues that he was having--partly from the frustration of not being able to communicate his needs and wants, and partly from being diagnosed with ADHD). He also attends Vision Therapy for pediatric behavioral optometrist-diagnosed vision weaknesses, which contribute to his dyslexia, amongst other issues. First off, about Advanced Pediatric Therapies: this facility is the best of the best! I drive twice weekly from Carson to Sparks, and would do it daily if need be, because they are that good! Their front desk staff are so lovely, and Coleen, in particular, will always take the time to answer any billing question that you may have. I have NEVER seen a single person at the entire facility ever have anything but a warm, genuine smile on their face! This facility is AMAZING! Occupational therapy, Vision Therapy, probably most of Physical Therapy and Adaptive Therapy take place in the converted warehouse, which you have to see to believe! It's full of giant structures, on which different kinds of special swings, ropes, bars, inner tubes, etc can be hung. There are areas for slides, sensory bins, white boards, large open areas for riding all sorts of scooters, for skipping, hopping and climbing around different, fun, colorful obstacles! There are marbles, bean bags, trains, cars, and so much more! And everything is used in such creative ways. It's a candyland! Speech Therapy (and probably some other kinds that I don't know about), take place in large, modern offices, many of which have floor to ceiling windows looking out on to greenery. They are full of games which are incorporated in to the session. The therapists: I (my son) has worked with 2 INCREDIBLE therapists during his years at APT, and I could not possibly recommend either of them more HIGHLY!!! Megan M. (Speech Therapist): Megan is soft-spoken, but assertive with the child, and knows well how to engage the child in to talking through play during the first sessions. She is wonderful at picking up on when the child needs to be pushed, versus when the child may be getting frustrated and needs a play break. Her personality is warm, kind, empathetic, and that she truly cares about helping your child. She knows her job well, and is excellent and truly skilled at it! (We had school speech therapists before this, and he got nowhere, but he has made miraculous strides with Megan!). Kelsie (Occupational Therapist/ Vision Therapist): My son runs and jumps into Kelsie's arms every time he sees her-- lol! He adores her, because she has the ability to make everything fun, even Vision Therapy. It takes place in the converted warehouse, and she will set up "exercises" like having him swing on his stomach, Superman-style, in a net, while he has to use depth perception to grab a bean bag from her hand (as he swings by), and then throw the beanbag at a target in front of him. Another game is for him to wear an eye patch, while holding a plastic cup, and she rolls marbles on the ground at him, that he has to trap in the cup. This obviously exercises one eye much harder, as depth perception is taken away by wearing the eye patch. Kelsie is kind, bubbly, caring, and extremely creative! APT takes insurance, but they also sometimes have some deals if they don't take your insurance. (You'd have to ask.) They are absolutely worth ever penny! Early intervention is key, and this is where you are going to get the best care, hands down! You may have to go on a waiting list to get in, but do it! You won't be sorry!!!

The whole office is sweet and kind and do everything to help my family to be better. The gym is gigantic and full of fun incentives for the kids to earn should they be good in their session. Last July 2025 I fell down my stairs and broke my left hip, I had to go to the emergency room and a doctor over at Swift Institute was on the Emergency side of it, and replaced my hip with a few screws. Well, the screws were coming out as I walked, so I saw Dr. Winkle back at great basin, and he said you're gonna have to have your hip totally replaced, as the screws are poking out.! I ended up in the hospital a few days after surgery with a stomach problem, and he actually came by to see me, and it had nothing to do with my hip, he just wanted to make sure I was OK! Absolutely incredible Dr, I highly recommend him and any doctor at Great Basin Orthopedics! The best! I needed a nausea medicine, and unbeknownst to Dr. Winkle the medicine he gave me for nausea also helped the stomach problem I was having so I could eat again, no other doctor has ever prescribed that medicine for me and I get these stomach issues a lot, we were really impressed! Thanks Dr Winkel!! I cannot believe how well I am doing, love my new life!!

Upon arrival, I was being transferred using a hoir lift and when I left, I only needed one person to assist in transfers. Together with therapy, nursing and on-site doctor, we figured out the correct dosages of medications for me. When night shift needed guidance, Laura, an occupational therapist, came in to teach them. Lori, Administrator, also stepped in whenever needed. I was also transported to any outside doctor's appointments in their van. My family and I are very happy with the care I received. The staff took the time to get to know their patients and individualized the care and therapy based on the person's needs. I only gave 4 stars because of the food and my picky taste. But I have learned since I left, they have added another chef! i Highly recommend this rehab facility!

Of course i know nothing at all about what surgery entailed, so you would think they would discuss with you what type of surgery you want.. There were 4 of us on the same floor in the hospital and we all had screws put in, why were not asked if we wanted to wait for a replacement? I do not get that at all.... Those screws he put in were the worst...OUCH! They were popping out of the side of my leg as I walked. Hurt like hell and I used my walker for days... Ridiculous!! I went for a 2 week follow up. and I when I go to Check in , , I mentioned that I had a Cardiology appt. next store in an hour and the lady at the counter at Swift was just awful. She was loud, and had personal stuff on the phone and was loud about it, soo tacky.. Soo unprofessional.,this offense is sooo disorganized.. After I waited an hour and me telling them I had to leave, I went to the desk 10 mins before my next appt. She said that I HAD NEVER BEEN CHECKED IN AT ALL! ARE YOU SERIOUS??? At that same exact moment, I got a call asking me why I was not at my appt., and I missed it, I said, dude, I am in the lobby for the last hour, I did not miss it, your girl forgot to sign me in.. They got me back for a fast beat, then I left the my appt., and was back in an hour, then they saw me.. they felt bad, but still... I went back for my appt., and Dr. Lilyquist had some interns with him we talked about my hip and I asked him, that i felt like I was shorter on my left side. He just brushed it off.... anyways , after that appt., I went back to Great Basin Orthopedics (GBO), where my Dr. said I was way shorter, and sent me to the Hangar Clinic where they made me a left shoe 1" higher as I was 1" shorter on the left side, I AM ALREADY short enough, and that made me feel so disabled, not cool at all, I cried.. Dr. Lilyquist called me after he dare one review and I told him all of this, he just said sometimes that happens. WHATEVER! Glad I am back at GBO! I got a new hip in April and Dr. Winkel from GBO fixed the height issue on the left.... YAY!
